Sarah Palin in jeans, rocking out to “Redneck Woman”

By Michelle Malkin  •  October 28, 2008 01:01 PM

I’ll take Sarah over the Arugula Snob and Smirky any day:

Redneck Woman
by Gretchen Wilson

Well I ain’t never
Been the barbie doll type
No I can’t swig that sweet champagne
I’d rather drink beer all night
In a tavern or in a honky tonk
Or on a 4 wheel drive tailgate
I’ve got posters on my wall of Skynard, Kid and Strait
Some people look down on me
But I don’t give a rip
I’ll stand barefooted in my own front yard with a baby on my hip

Cause I’m a redneck woman
And I ain’t no high class broad
I’m just a product of my raisin’
And I say “hey y’all” and “Yee Haw”
And I keep my Christmas lights on, on my front porch all year long
And I know all the words to every Charlie Daniels song
So here’s to all my sisters out there keepin’ it country
Let me get a big “Hell Yeah” from the redneck girls like me
Hell Yeah
Hell Yeah

Victoria’s Secret
Well their stuff’s real nice
Oh but I can buy the same damn thing on a Wal*Mart shelf half price
And still look sexy
Just as sexy
As those models on TV
No I don’t need no designer tag to make my man want me
You might think I’m trashy
A little too hard core
But get in my neck of the woods
I’m just the girl next door

Hey I’m redneck woman
And I ain’t no high class broad
I’m just a product of my raisin’
And I say “hey y’all” and “Yee Haw”
And I keep my Christmas lights on, on my front porch all year long
And I know all the words to every Tanya Tucker song
So here’s to all my sisters out there keeping it country
Let me get a big “Hell Yeah” from the redneck girls like me
Hell Yeah
Hell Yeah

I’m redneck woman
And I ain’t no high class broad
I’m just a product of my raisin’
And I say “hey y’all” and “Yee Haw”
And I keep my Christmas lights on, on my front porch all year long
And I know all the words to every Ol’ Bocephus song
So here’s to all my sisters out there keeping it country
Let me get a big “Hell Yeah” from the redneck girls like me
Hell Yeah
Hell Yeah

Hell Yeah
Hell Yeah
Hell Yeah
Hell Yeah

I Said Hell Yeah

***

What I’d love to see: Palin and Wilson in John Murtha’s district in Pennsylvania for a rally with Bill Russell.

***
Hell Yeah: Pam Meister takes on the Beltway Palin-bashers.

I just saw your new “glossy response” to my comment. You ignored the subject of the wasting of half a woman’s life through your philosophies.

No compassion for this woman at all?

And I made no mistake when I characterized “People Like Us” = those who think they should lord it over the rubes. We indicate the same people: the Democrats.

They ONLY see injustice because they are failures. They will never feel the joy that a parent feels when their child rides a two wheeler for the first time, they ONLY feel contempt because somewhere there is a child who has no bike. Given the Fairness Doctrine back on the table and severe collectivist socialism in vogue with the media… there may be no turning back, no chance for a new Reagan to come on the scene.

Actually, there were MANY, but every time I include the links the post gets lost. Anyway — so I’ll cite the pollers (and the stats) and you can look them up to double check (just enter their named along with “Palin”):
CNN/Opinion Research Corp. (49% say not qualified)
Washington Post-ABC News (51% say they have a negative impression of her)
Associated Press-GfK (25% say she has experience for job)
    Pew (51% negative)
Wall Street Journal/NBC News (49% say not qualified — and this one is from September)
Quinnipiac University/ Wall Street Journal (By a margin of 52%-42% women voters said that she isn’t qualified. In Michigan, by a margin of 50%-34% women said that she isn’t qualified. In Minnesota and Wisconsin, the margin was 49%-40%.)
There were similar outcomes (with more than 50% of respondents saying they did not believe her qualified to be VP) by Diageo/Hotline. All of these are online and easy to track down.

The sad and unfortunate part is that you will most likely be taking that chance no matter who wins. Socialism has been fully unleashed, and if history serves, it is extraordinarily hard to reverse course (without an actual revolution). The saddest thing about George W. Bush is that all the problems that are plaguing us are being blamed on Conservatism and the belief in free markets. The worst part of this crisis is that people are asking for socialism because they believe it will fix our problems, even though socialism is what brought them on. McCain has not only fully endorsed the bailouts and nationalizations, he’s proposed expanding them. If he gets voted in, where does the Republican party go from here? And how badly do we look after McCain’s brand of socialism fails? What is the best scenario for the future of the Republican party?

Lion, sorry I mistook you for a collectivist earlier. We are about 99% in agreement on everything you say. And I don’t have great answers for your questions, either…

All I can say is that I would rather vote for someone who practices socialism out of intellectual laziness and political expediency, than vote for someone that is a committed marxist who practices the teachings of Saul Alinsky.

The latter choice is so potentially dangerous that it could very well destroy the country, the last country where any freedom at all is left…

A very fair point. It seems that the term ‘conservative’ has been completely rendered devoid of any meaning. When someone can support our government nationalizing any sector of our economy, it should instantly expose them as fundamentally anti-conservative. It seems now that anyone who fundamentally believes in true conservatism, is labeled a Libertarian.
