Just in: The Toledo Police Department confirms that one of its records clerks has been charged with performing an unlawful search of Joe The Plumber’s records.

That makes two Ohio government employees identified in the snooping case. (Obama donor Helen Jones-Kelly, director of the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services, approved a separate search. More are being investigated.)

WNWO reports:

Toledo Police have confirmed that a TPD records clerk is accused of performing an illegal search of information related to ‘Joe the Plumber.’

Julie McConnell, has been charged with Gross Misconduct for allegedly making an improper inquiry into a state database in search of information pertaining to Samuel Wurzelbacher on Oct. 16.

Wurzelbacher came under the spotlight after being spoken about during the final presidential debate between Barack Obama and John McCain.

The inquiry into Wurzelbacher’s record is a violation of department and state policy governing the use of the Law Enforcement Automated Data System. The clerk is under fire for making the inquiry for a non-law enforcement purpose.

McConnell was hired by the Toledo Police Department in April 1995 and assigned to the Investigative Services Bureau.

A quick search of campaign donor records doesn’t turn up McConnell’s name.

Maggie Thurber wants to know: Who was McConnell digging up the information for?

***

Update: Here’s your answer, Maggie.

The Toledo PD clerk was reportedly doing a favor for a reporter who wanted Wurzelbacher’s address.

More: Joe may sue.

Go for it, Joe.

Ok, I want to clear my conscious a little. Hopefully you could make a blog post to help some fellow clinton supporters out.

I work for a campaign and can’t wait for this week to be over.

I was doing it for a job. I was not a fan of any candidate but over time grew to love HRC.

The internal campaign idea is to twist, distort, humiliate and finally dispirit you.

We pay people and organize people to go to all the online sites and “play the part of a clinton or mccain supporter who just switched our support for obama”

We do this to stifle your motivation and to destroy your confidence.

We did this the whole primary and it worked.

Sprinkle in mass vote confusion and it becomes bewildering. Most people lose patience and just give up on their support of a candidate and decide to just block out tv, news, websites, etc.

This surprisingly has had a huge suppressing movement and vote turnout issues.

Next, we infiltrate all the blogs and all the youtube videos and overwhelm the voting, the comments, etc. All to continue this appearance of overwhelming world support.

People makes posts to the effect that the world has “gone mad”

Thats the intention. To make you feel stressed and crazy and feel like the world is ending.

We have also had quite a hand in skewing many many polls, some we couldn’t control as much as we would have liked. But many we have spoiled over. Just enough to make real clear politics look scarey to a mccain supporter. Its worked, alough the goal was to appear 13-15 points ahead.

see, the results have been working. People tend to support a winner, go with the flow, become “sheeple”

The polls are roughly 3-5 points in favor of Barack. Thats due to our inflation of the polls and pulling in the sheeple.

Our donors, are the same people who finance the MSM. Their interests are tied, Barack then tends to come across as teflon. Nothing sticks. And trust, there were meetings with Fox news. The goal was to blunt them as much as possible. Watch Bill Oreilly he has become much more diplomatic and “fair and balanced” and soft. Its because he wants to retain the #1 spot on cable news and to do that he has to have access to the Obama campaign and we worked hard at stringing him a long and keeping him soft for an interview swap. It worked and now he is anticipating more access. So he is playing it still soft.

    This is why nothing sticks.

The operation is massive, the goal is to paint a picture that is that of a winner, regardless of the results.

There is no true inauguration draft or true grant park construction going on. There will be a party, but we are boasting beyond the truth to make it seem like the election is wrapped up.

Our goal is to continue to make you lose your moral. We worked hard at persuasion and paying off and timing and playing the right political numbers to get key republican endorsements to make it seem even more like it was over and the world was coming to an end for you all.

There is a huge staff of people working around the clock, watching every site, blogs, etc. We flood these sites. We have had a goal to overwhelm.

The truth is here. I could go on and on, but you get the picture.

I am saying this because I know HRC was better for the country, and now realize this. I was too late by the time I connected to her. To me Barack was just a cool young dude that seemed like a star. I didn’t know him or his policies, but now I understand more than I care to and I realize his interests are more for him, and the DNC and all working like puppets with dean. I always thought a president wanted the better good for the country. The end result I see is everyone dependent on the government, this means more and more people voting for the DNC. This means the future is forever altered. I don’t see this as america, so I am now supporting John Mccain.

Sarah Palin is a huge threat, and our campaign has feared her like you can’t imagine. If it seems unfair how she has been treated, well its because she has had a team working round the clock to make her look like a fool.

this is a big conspiracy and I am so shocked that its not realized.

We released a little blurb the other day that the Obama campaign was already working on reelection and now putting our efforts towards 2012. This was to make it seem like it was above us to continue caring about 2008. Trust me, its a lie. David is very smart, but its a sticky ugly not very truthful kind of intelligence.

Its not over yet, but I think the machine is working. And its a hill to climb.

I will be quitting my post on nov 5th and my vote will be for John Mccain. Fortunately, my position has been a marketing position and I don’t feel I had any part of anything I would feel guilty for. But I look forward to getting out of this as the negativity and environment upsets me.

I wish you all well, and goodluck.

PS my name is not really sarah. but I am a female and I understand your plight.

No doubt McConnell thought she was doing a public service by privately vetting Joe the Plumber. If she uncovered any dirt on him, she figured that the illegality of the what she did would be at least justified if not rewarded in the New Order.

It’s all part of the donkeys’ favorite debate tactic: changing the subject. If you question Hopenchange in public, you soon find yourself spending most of your time trying to prove a negative: typically, “I’m not a racist.”

In this instance, McConnell’s aim was to find a way to force Joe the Plumber to “prove” that he’s not a tax cheat, or a wife beater, or a drunk driver, or whatever the illegal records access may have revealed about him.

Of more long-term significance, Joe the Plumber is actually “Joe the Canary” — as in, Canary in the coal mine. For what has been done to him is going to become the rule if Hopenchange becomes el presidente of the New American Banana Republic.

Say anything he, his minions or his cheerleaders in the State Media don’t like, and you’ll get the gradated response:

    - First, they’ll try to cut you off by starving you of a forum. No press coverage, and/or employing the “fairness” doctrine to deprive you of a non-Obama-friendly medium of expression.

    - If that doesn’t work, the next step is to summarily declare you to be “discredited” by media fiat, without actually addressing any facts that you have raised.

    - If that doesn’t work, they’ll dig into your past and into your supposedly sealed records to look for things to threaten you with by exposure.

    - If that doesn’t work, they’ll have you audited or investigated — as a shot across the bow warning of what might happen if you don’t shut up.

    - And finally, if that doesn’t work then they’ll look for some way to charge you and prosecute you.

It will take brave souls indeed — like our blog hostess here — to stand up to the intimidation tactics. Because they’re coming just as surely as Joe Biden’s “manufactured crisis” for Hopenchange is coming in the event of his election.

One target practice I was sporting travel-length gels. They didn’t get in the way. Shoot for the head where the round will enter but not maintain enough speed to exit. It thus rattles around inside resulting in an unsettling level of damage.

In terms of caliber, you should get the most potent round you’re comfortable firing. For self-defense, you’ll hear a lot of people say that you shouldn’t use any caliber that doesn’t start with a “4,” e.g. .45, .40S&W, etc. However, if you aren’t able to manage the recoil and won’t be able to put rounds on target, then you should use a lighter round. For a revolver, I wouldn’t go any lower than .38 Special. The recoil should be pretty manageable, even with delicate hands.

I would recommend a .40. Fantastic round, and very accurate.

.22′s do a lot of damage (Brady was shot by one). However, if you don’t hit the vital organs, then it’s not that efficient. Lots of damage, not often as lethal.

Personally I can’t stand 9mms. Tough on the wrist, and inaccuarate. My favorite gun is my Colt National Match Gold Cup .45.

Recoil isn’t that bad with a .45 or a .40 (.22 not that bad at all — good for practice shooting, and cheap too!).

Recoil is nasty with a .357 magnum. Holy cow do I have fatigue after 50 rounds of that.

Three or four inch barreled .38 Special or .357 Magnum revolver. You can load it with light target wadcutter ammunition up through full-house magnum loads if you can handle the recoil. You should be able to find a good, used one at a gun show for around $200.00 or less.

I presume that when writing this you are not a convicted felon or on the run from the law.

The handgun you should select should:

    1. Have been adopted for military/police service with an excellent track record for reliability in field/street conditions.

2.Should be no less than .38 special for revolvers, and no less than .380acp
(reason: general stopping power and availability of good hollow-point defensive ammo).

    3. It should feel like the gun is comfortable, and you are capable shooting at least 100 fmj target rounds of said caliber in a session without rest and without injury….you don’t want carpal tunnel or hyper-pronated thumb from firing a caliber that is too much for you to handle.

As for the question of revolver or auto loader, my 20 years of handgunning experience has taught me that either a revolver or an autoloader is fine with experience-I can reload my .357magnum revolver AS FAST as I can any of my Glocks now..

For a beginner though, reloading an autoloader is usually faster than with a revolver (unless you are using Safariland speedloaders with respect to a revolver).

I like Glocks over any other battle-tested autoloader handgun (and revolvers) because with a punch or flattened nail, I can take my gun apart to replace ANYTHING that has worn out, and parts are readily available online from Glockmeister.com (where you can also get the videotape that will teach you how to assemble and disassemble your Glock down to replacing your trigger assembly)…Other gun makes are more difficult to completely take apart or get spare parts for like the Sig Sauer.

    4. Get out and test-fire a gun that you are interested in…if you enjoy shooting it, you will also PRACTICE with it to your benefit…and be interested in its proper maintainence.

Now back to my studies of Advanced Macroeconomics….

wighttrash, go to the SigSauer website. Good weapons and if you are unlucky enough to live in CA or MA, it will let you know if that specific firearm will make it past “ScrewTheSecondAmendment Directorate.”

A .40 caliber is pretty good. Bigger than 9mm with a bit more stopping power. A .45 is nice but, if you miss, it’s going to go through something.

Get a .22 automatic for practice. Once you’re comfortable with it, you can move up to the .40 caliber. You’re accuracy will remain almost the same.

Get a Louisville Slugger (33″, 33oz.) for the really close in work.

Wrong. They can regulate it, but they can’t stop it. That’s what the Heller decision says. Unfortunately, you’d have to be “damaged” by a law to fight it. So, you’d have to go get a firearm for personal defense and then get arrested. Then you could sue.

If you’re going to go through the trouble to get a firearm for self defense (which I highly recommend as it is your right as stated in the second amendment of the Constitution) you might as well get a couple decent knives to carry on you too (and learn how to use them in self defense).

I usually at a minimum, even in (most) places that don’t allow me to carry my firearm concealed (damn you Costco with your dumb rules) I always have at least a knife on me if not two of them. One openly visible clipped on my pants pocket, the other concealed. The only places I can’t have either a knife or gun are very limited such as voting booths and government buildings and airports.

I assume you’re a novice shooter. In that case a good double-action revolver is good with which to start. Fewer buttons, switches, and levers about which to worry.

Some good brands for consideration are: Smith & Wesson, Ruger, and Taurus. Nothing under .38 Special for self-defense.

I don’t believe it’s due to their skin color. In SF when Dan White was acquitted of killing Mayor Moscone and Harvey Milk, the liberal gays burned, looted, and destroyed lots of private and public property. They were mostly white.
