Just when I am p!ssed off and combative from losers like that watershed fool always calling folks RAAAAACIST, and actually beginning to embrace the word. I see an intelligent black American with good conservative values and I am put in my place.
I have lived in 5 different countries on 4 continents. I have met thousands of people whose dream is to come to America to escape tyranny and be free and have a chance at a better material life.
By-in-large, the people I have met who dislike America were former KGB and Securitate officers and other Marxists.
I have loved living abroad but I always looked forward to returning to America, the land of my birth, and the one nation that more clearly represents freedom, equality and opportunity to more people than any other place in history.

I was discussing a Victorian novel with my tutor yesterday when she, uncharacteristically, made a comment regarding Joe the Plumber.
“I don’t know what your political leanings are, but do you remember the story from the States a few weeks ago about ‘Joe the Plumber’, and how he was going to make $250,000 or so? Then it was revealed that he wasn’t actually a licensed plumber and he would never make that kind of money, and he would actually benefit from the more liberal politics.”
I had enjoyed the fact that the tutorial sessions had, so far, been politic-free, but I took a breath and replied, “I know you are British, and I know that you don’t understand how America works. You are most likely severely limited in how you receive your news. I read the Guardian, the Telegraph, and the Times and see how terrible America is often portrayed. I have seen how the media has thrown the focus off Obama and onto a regular person posing a legitimate question to a presidential candidate. My favorite thing about America is if you play it smart, and you work hard, and you make things happen for yourself instead of hoping others will change your life, you can be successful.”
“But do you think that the ‘American Dream’, so to speak, is put in place to keep people content, to keep them from bringing about greater social change?”

I wasn’t born in America but, I was raised here, became a citizen and thank God everyday. I too spent many, many years overseas. Intelligent, well read folks in Europe love America. Their media elites are like ours, always ready to bash the USA. Ignore European media just like you ignore those in NY or LA.

Manning is a Harlem preacher who is agitated to no end by That One. The latest video I saw was 20 minutes or so. It’s a must-see.
I could never do justice to Rev. Manning’s preaching, but he rails against his congregation for being morons if they’re considering voting for Obama.

He also brings up another point I’ve never seen mentioned before. While That One’s parents and grandfather are dead (and the grandmother on her deathbed), where was the grandmother or even any Kansas cousins when Obama got the prez’l nomination? Why is there no one who even admits going to school with him? Why are no friends or extended family rooting for him? Why does Obama fail to acknowledge HIS MOTHER once in his books, but goes on and on about his father who abandoned him when he was an infant?
Most of my life I thought Greek Mythology was just that-mythology. Joy Behar and a few of her sisters, such as Keith Overboard, remind me of several of the Greek monsters: HYDRA: the dog monster with nine serpent heads and deadly poisonous blood.

Harris: Thanks for your post. It was great and you did an excellent job informing your teacher! I used to work with a lady from France (she married an American serviceman and became a US citizen). I asked her once why she wasn’t a liberal, having grown up in France. She said there are actually a lot of conservative people like her in France, but their media would never report on that (sounds familiar), so you’d never know it!

The problem with the polls is that the MSM has laid the foundation for charges of massive fraud and massive post-election violence if Obama is NOT elected.
The MSM will reason thus, and incite all sorts of violence, should Obama not win:
1. Obama was “clearly ahead” in “scientific polls” by double digits for the last several weeks.
2. The “scientific polls” are infallible.
3. The only way McCain could “win” is by fraud.
4. Therefore, McCain and the evil GOP stole another election.
I am really concerned what may happen should, somehow, Obama not commit enough fraud with his ACORN buddies to “win” the election. This could rival the riots of 1968.

My Father was a proud man. People today would call him a male chauvinist, but back in the 50′s he was the type who said, “You won’t find any wife of mine working outside the home”. He never took a dime he didn’t earn, and he was a tough, WWII veteran. I admired him more than anyone on this earth. He has been gone for over 30 years and I still mourn the loss of a true American patriot. This country must retrieve its backbone and fight for our freedoms. They are in grave danger.

There’s a little diner (CK’s) near where we live. Occasionally we’ll go there for a greasy burger, and I often enjoy exchanging conservative comments with the manager. The other night, I asked if she was Republican. She said no. I said, “Surely you’re not democrat!” She said no. I asked what, then, was she! She said “I’m an American!”

As a Virginian in Falls Church, I will be at my polling place at 2am for the 6am start time, to vote first. This display of true patriotism is why I was proud to serve my country, for it is not the qualifications and conditions and labels that truly defines us, it is the uniting power of flag, country, identity, and community.
May God spare us from the wrath that is at our doorstep now -
