I think we are seeing plenty of all of these in the MSM this election cycle!!

As I've said before, all polls are crap.

I think all political polling should be outlawed. There is absolutely no good reason to have political polls. And with the MSM in the tank for the democrats, the exit polls are the worst. They just want you to stay home; The One has already won.

What if those blue balls are displayed every time you turn on the TV and go to the website that has your e-mail, and you think, what's the use in voting this cycle?

The answer to that is, don't pay attention to what you see. The chances are good that those balls have been inflated.

My point is this, if one poll says obama plus 15 and the next one says obama plus 2, then the polls are crap. You don’t get a 13 point swing in one day. It just doesn’t happen.

And slightly O/T - but related. Although the stock market very frequently says differently, the underlying value of a company seldom changes by 10% overnight either.

Hey Rambler,
You have a point there about the Independents not in the stats. I also commented to my friends weeks back that the media is shooting themselves in the foot by waving the victory flag for Obama because Dems are notoriously lazy and will just stay home because they think their guy has won already. Even McCain said "We got him right where we want him" when refering to the Obama lead in the polls.

My decidedly informal poll of yard signs in my part of town is at least 10 to 1 in favor of McCain. While this area leans Republican (60%), there would normally never be this type of lopsided outcome in an election. It gives me some hope that the national polls are extremely skewed and November 5 we will wake up in a still sane America.

Actually, it may work to McCain's advantage to have the polls list obama ahead. The Obama folks might not bother to stand in the long lines to vote if they believe he has already won. I speak to many fellow independents and we just don't answer polls. A few have told Obama street thugs that Obama's their guy just to avoid an argument.
Independents may not be on any lists so the only way to find them is through random calling, that is if we answer the phone.

We all know McCain's faults. We aren't voting for McCain...we are voting AGAINST Stalinist Socialism (Obama) and FOR Sarah Palin.
In addition, Obama WILL lose this election. He didn't even really win the Dem nomination (given to him by the Super Dels and the Caucauses where "voters" essensially had non-private ballots). If you pay no attention to the media, as hard as that might be, the guy just doesn't have the support of the everyman. Take a deep breath, don't panic, and step back and take a long look at the PEOPLE. Sure, Obabma's supportrs are passionate, but they only get one vote (we hope) each.

John Ansell, wish I was as confident as you about McNasty winning...I will go against my true values and principles and vote for this center moderate only to put down Odummy for awhile.
I'm so in doubt of McShame/PALIN winning I bought me some more second amendment rights yesterday. After all I'm just a typical white man.
I don't need a poll to tell me who to vote for.
