Report: Another case of disabled voters coached into supporting Obama
More than a week ago, I noted the story of a south Georgia disabled man whose family says an adult rehab house aide commandeered his vote and pushed him into marking his ballot for Obama. “They told me to vote for Obama, I said no I wanted to vote for McCain,” Jack Justice told WALB-TV. (links here and here)
Now, there’s another report of disabled voters who appear to have been exploited by Obama followers. The new story comes from California:
The California Republican Party is asking the secretary of state to investigate an organized voting campaign involving developmentally disabled adults in Tuolumne County.
As many as ten clients of the Thumbs Up! adult care center have already cast absentee ballots under the supervision of center director David Simerley, and nearly all of them were for Barack Obama.
“We all registered to vote and we all sat together as a group and went over our ballots and voted,” Simerley told News10.
Among those voting was Michael Rascon, 56, whose father described him as having the mental capacity of a 5-year-old.
“What kind of people would do this to somebody like that,” asked Sam Rascon, who discovered his son had registered and voted only after seeing him with an Obama button last Thursday. “He wouldn’t know one candidate from another.”
News10 spoke to Michael Rascon at the Thumbs Up! center about the election. When asked which candidate he’d voted for, Rascon answered “the black man.” He was unable to remember Obama’s name.
Simerley said the absentee voting followed field trips to both local Republican and Democratic party headquarters.
“When we register people to vote, we try to be totally non-partisan,” Simerley said. He insists he exerted no influence over his clients despite the fact nearly all of them voted Democratic in an otherwise Republican county.
“I think maybe Obama would appeal to people with disabilities,” he explained.
Guess Simerley conveniently forgot to tell them about Sarah Palin before taking advantage of them.
For shame.

Is the Obama campaign planning to distribute “Stop Snitching” t-shirts to their followers in an effort to suppress the truth regarding voter fraud?
Isn’t this what a community organizer is suppose to be do’in? Turning out the vote anyway possible.
I really think I’m going to throw up. Did I die and go to hell and no one told me? Naturally, they’ll get away with it, they are getting away with everything else! What the hell has happened to my country???
this is sickening
It’s a preview of the new ‘card check’ law that’s coming for the union thugs.
purple finger; no need for anything else.
Those with the mental capacity of five-year olds are a key Obam-uh constituency.
Raaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaacist!
One can only hope that there is a special circle in Hell for people who would take advantage of developmentally challenged people like that.
Well, at least it’s not turrets syndrome.
When I think they can go no lower……..there just isn’t any limit to the depths these perverts will go….including our pocketbooks.
Has anyone read this on Drudge yet?
Judge rules Ohio homeless voters may list park benches as addresses
Ohio….what a state….
Someone (yes, that’s you, David Simerley) needs to be fired. Immediately. He is taking advantage of the very people he claims to be working for. If he will steal their votes for his candidate, what else might he do to them?
Disgusting piece of trash.
The people who do these things are the quintessential example of a “useful idiot.” Such people are exploited and then cast aside like yesterday’s newspaper. Until they land in the trash heap, they have no clue.
To those who said hoping for a special place in Hell; dittos.
Digg it!
Aw, cummon, these incidents are I—solated.
If this is just the stuff responsible people are catching, I have to wonder…
No, really. I do. It’s not even Election Day yet.
“I think maybe Obama would appeal to people with disabilities,” he explained.
This line sickens me the most because Obama would rather children like him are aborted so as not to be a burden to their families…
Samiam, you kicked the ball out of the field with that one.
Sad, pathetic cultists are the Obamites

“For shame.”

No shame.
Federal Judge Rules Homeless Can List Park Bench as Address
Posted by Kim Priestap

A park bench can be used as an address for a voter registration form? How do you even list is as an address? How do you prove you’ve “lived” at that park bench for 30 days, which is how long you have to be a resident of Ohio before you can vote. No utility company or bank will send a bill to a park bench.
A federal judge in Ohio has ruled that counties must allow homeless voters to list park benches and other locations that aren’t buildings as their addresses.
U.S. District Judge Edmund Sargus also ruled that provisional ballots can’t be invalidated because of poll worker errors.
Monday’s ruling resolved the final two pieces of a settlement between the Northeast Ohio Coalition for the Homeless and Secretary of State Jennifer Brunner.
The coalition agreed to drop a constitutional challenge to Ohio’s voter identification law until after the Nov. 4 election. In return, Brunner and the coalition agreed on procedures to verify provisional ballots across all Ohio counties.
This is part of an effort by a homeless advocacy group to get the law that requires voter ID and residency for voting overturned on the grounds that it violates Ohio’s Constitution. It doesn’t matter if it will cause massive voter fraud. Let anyone from anywhere go into Ohio and vote there. People who live in border states would be able to vote in their own states and then drive to Ohio and vote again if there is no longer a residency or voter ID requirement.
The ruling by this district judge should be overruled by a higher court because it’s ridiculous on its face. And I’m expecting any attempt by this homeless advocacy group to kill the law requiring voter ID and residency to vote would be shot down as well. But if you get a bunch of liberal activist judges hearing the case, you just never know.
Added: Just to clarify, I don’t have an issue with the homeless voting. My issue is with using park benches and overpasses as residences. Those who are homeless should be required to use a shelter’s address because at least it can be verified that the person in question has been there, which would provide an indication that he or she is actually a resident of Ohio. But using a park bench? How do you confirm that information?
Also, Brian pointed out that the park bench as a residence issue became law in 2006 but that Cuyahoga County required a shelter as an address. Well, I agree with Cuyahoga County on this one. I’m curious if some of Ohio’s voter registration fraud problems can be traced back to this law.
Talking advantage of our most dependent adults this way is the very definition of evil.
This David Simerley mostly likely considers himself a good person. The NAZI doctors who “euthanized” physically and mentally handicapped people for the Hygiene of the Aryan Race considered themselves good people.
Or Just Following Orders? It did not work for Adolph Eichmann.
But yes, Samiam #15 said it best.
I am sickened by the scandalous behavior of people like that. The only word left is EVIL.
#3 I agree. What has happened to my country? Where are the ethics? God help us!!</
They’re just doing their thug thizzle.
Seriously though – I agree with the sentiment that there is a special place in Hell for people who take advantage of others. Didn’t Obama mentioned something about taking care of the least of these? All talk.
I’m not a citizen of the United States. I have a Green Card. I follow the rules very stringently.
Clearly I should just go to vote and not worry about, oh say, the laws that say it’s illegal….
Welcome to liberal dogma 101 Sam. The same anencephalic folks who brought you a Kerry victory in 2004.
30 pcs of silver:
I know Jesus said it, but I don’t know if the Obamessiah did, considering he’s consistently voted against taking care of the least of these.
Emphasis on the word Thug, right?
Same with my wife, MJK. But, if she voted for McCain/Palin the lame stream media would sieze on it and claim that every vote for them was illegal.
Yeah. Seeing as Obama’s supporters have no qualms about aborting disabled persons, or euthanizing those who become disabled later in life, this is sad.
Vote for me, the candidate who supports your murder.
The rest of the world isn’t dumb and they’re sitting back and laughing as they watch one person, Barack HUSSEIN Obama and his sheeple tear this once great country down.
How can so many complaints across the nation go unchecked? How can liberal Judges like the one in Ohio make such stupid rulings and the people of that state sit on their duffs and say nothing?
B. HUSSEIN Obama has split this nation as surely as if he had taken a butter knife and cut it down the middle. Kruschev phropized (SP?) years ago that we would be taken over from within, that communisism would bury us, and people laughed at him. B. HUSSEIN Obama is laughing now as millions and millions of fools will be voting for him.
I pray everyday for some Devine entervention to prohibit him from being elected, and it breaks my heart to see disabled people treated so badly, and Barack HUSSEIN Obama won’t entervine because the scumbag knows it would cost him votes if he did.
Can you hear him laughing at you America? Vote for McCain/Palin ‘08.
I’m not a religious man,
BUT
Please GOD show me the place were the moral high ground exist. Show the place I may live free of the disgusting vermin that wish to despoil our Constitution. Show me how I might keep that document safe from those who have forgotten it’s purpose.
It was during the Saddleback forum/debate that Obama made that statement. It doesn’t matter – we all know it was just talk.
For sure.
henryinga #29 …
FYI … the federal judge that made the park bench ruling is a Clinton appointed judge … need I say more? …
just a preview of what to expect from all the judges that BO would appoint
(there’s a large number of appointments available because the Dems have been blocking appointments for federal judges ever since Bush was elected to office)
This is just sad that anyone fom any political leaning would use these innocent people as a political tool.
This really isn’t anything new. I remember when I was voting in ‘04 that two women – one mentally disabled – walked into the polling place. They were in the voting booth next to me, so I couldn’t help but overhear the one woman telling the disabled woman, “He’s the democrat. Vote for him.”
I honestly don’t think the disabled woman knew who or what she was voting for. However, I didn’t say anything because I didn’t want to be accused of VOTER INTIMIDATION!!!!!
I’m not sure how you can decide who should be allowed to vote and who shouldn’t, but something about that incident really rubbed me the wrong way.

glockomatic: WE can only hope. This is lower than low.
If an Obama victory is so inevitable, why stoop to such methods? He’s not supposed to “need” to cheat to win this, right . . . right?
Aahhh, the smell of desperation. I think I’m beginning to sense it coming from Obama’s campaign.
If this is what they are willing to TRY, in an effort to win, what will be the limit the next election??? To take advantage of our WEAKER CITIZENS is beneath ANIMAL… If there is a HELL, there must be a special place for DEGENERATES like the ones in this report… One can only hope…
And this makes the GOP look dispirit.
Parents, check the kids’ candy extra carefully this Halloween. Some Broward Republicans plan to drop a little something extra into the bags: a piece of political propaganda.

Bicyea:
I think we can safely assume that the majority of these trick-or-treating kids and their parents are not mentally/developmentally challenged and the parents can make up their own minds whether to believe the message or not. They can throw away a little piece of paper with no harm done to them or the kids (who can’t even vote yet if they’re of trick-or-treating age).
You cannot compare that with manipulating a person who is of voting age but incapable of making that kind of decision for him/herself into voting for who YOU want them to vote for.
Nice try, but no moral equivalence.
Bicyea. Using the SunSentinel as a source brings in the question of your mental stability.
It’s just amazing that on the one hand these people are predicting a “landslide”, while on the other hand they are cheating and lying and stealing every possible vote, as if they think that a handful could possibly swing it. I can’t read the future and I don’t know how this is going to turn out, but it sure looks like they’re increasingly desperate. Guess those polls that show the race even are getting to them.
Desperate, disparate or dispirited? English isn’t your first language, is it?
At any rate, unless your neighborhood differs radically from most of the country, none of those trick-or-treaters can legally vote, although it’s quite possible they may find themselves voting for Obama anyway.

Also, what FamilyMan said.
So the legal voting age of 18 is biological years? Biological, chronological human years?
Funny they can pick out the mentally-challenged people for voting based on birth dates, yet sign up a, what? 6-month old goldfish?
Oh, and how long before that ‘human’ part is challenged? Like the definition of marriage? And the definition of ‘is’.
Well, looks to me like this judge just solved the homeless problem! I mean, if a park bench or a road underpass is their address, then that’s their home. Therefore, they’re not homeless. And this country no longer has a homeless problem!
Thanks! Your…”honor”?
Hmmm… this may very well be an illegal act.
IF the people in question have the mental capacity of a 5 year old, then they have someone appointed as guardian. Only that Guardian can make legal decisions about that person. If they signed the Voter Registration cards without the Guardians permission, then it would not only be an illegal voter registration, but Vote Tampering, as they are not authorized to take that person to vote.
Honestly, we’re not used to these anti-democratic tactics, but we’d better get used to it if The One actually wins next week. They will definitely work to permanently disenfranchise the opposition. That’s us.

Well, I hope those legal guardians follow through and file complaints with the authorities – and make a lot of noise about it in the media too, if for no other reason than to insure said authorities don’t try to sweep it all under the rug.
Everyone needs to wake up …
This is not just a vote for President …
This is a vote to save America and the American Way of Life …
I’d like to know how many of these disabled folks are allowed to stay in a place with such patently stupid and obviously dishonest ‘caretakers’.
Any relative of mine that had this done to them would be yanked out of there immediately and on the way to the new residence, we would stop by an attorneys office to start the paperwork for the lawsuit.
Vermin indeed.
If Obama needs to prey on disabled voters he should come to this web site, the people here are like those banjo players on Deliverance.
I work with a man, John, whose brother is mentally handicapped. His brother was registered to vote and had his ballot marked for Obama, just as described in Michelle’s post.
The people who did this did not have permission to remove John’s brother from the care facility. John’s brother does not have the capacity to know who Obama and McCain are. This vote was stolen, straight up.
These people have no conscience.

ilovemycountry:
That’s all I’ve ever heard from you: generalized personal insults of anyone who disagrees with you. If that’s all you have to contribute, don’t pretend you have any “love” in you. And while you’re at it:
GET. OFF. THIS. BOARD.
Come back if/when you can debate instead of hurling gradeschool-level insults.
Tricking the mentally infirm into voting the “proper” way is nothing new for donkeys. Back in 2000, I read about another incident in which “campaign workers” were combing through a nursing home, getting Alzheimer’s sufferers to vote. They were especially proud of the befuddled old Republican whom they helped to vote donkey without even knowing it.
Donkeys. They’ll do anything for money, and anything for “votes.”
On second thought, ilovemycountry, keep up your mature, intellectually stimulating posts. So far, you seem to heave treaded the “fine line” of saying something so offensive that it gets you banned, but we can always hope.
Trust me, you would not be missed. You are a child, however old you may be in years.
ilovemycountry cannot defend the actions talked about on this discussion board or his/her own words; hence, the single appearance, followed closely by the running away.
Bueller . . . Bueller . . .
these scummy, dishonest, lying, s.o.b.’s will do anything for a vote…at small taste of our future under the hand of Odummy and his pals.
Get out and vote Nov. 4th.
Hey Ilovemycountry which country is it that you love, sure the hell isn’t America.
I know someone that sounds kinda like him and he’s from Kenya? They are more of the ‘world citizen’ types.
This happened at a number of assisted living facilities in Washington state in the 2004 election. One of the important constituencies of Christine Gregoire. One family complained that their deaf, blind, mentally handicapped son had somehow gotten an absentee ballot and voted for in the election. Turns out that the staff had gotten all the residents of the facility absentee ballots and voted for the residents. The elections officials just shrugged their shoulders and claimed there was nothing they could do.
This was NOT an isolated incident. This was a coordinated effort, the union representing the workers claimed they were only helping disenfranchised voters to vote. Of course the vote gave a second, third, fourth or more votes for the left leaning cheats.
In Washington state our spineless Secretary of State is pushing for all mail in voting. This is just a further erosion of being able to make sure that only registered voters are the ones that cast their ballots.
Taking advantage our most vulnerable!
You’ve got to trust that God will deal with these vultures!
Inspite of this type of cheating, Obama still hasn’t sealed the deal.
Agreed, neither seem to understand the concept of national sovereignty…probably smoked too much dope or…
This is why we need to require people to register in person. That and the fact that dead people and pets can register. Since this was a hugely republican county, these votes are probably moot. But it is sad to see what the dims will do to try and win.
My mother is in a nursing home. She is 80 years old. Her family have been Republicans since the Civil War. About three months ago I asked her who she was voting for and she said, “Obama.” I said, “What?! He’s a Communist!” This came as news to her. She was told by the nursing home staff to vote for Obama.
Preying on the infirm is not right. But that’s what’s going to put this fraud over the top. It is utterly disgusting to me but thanks to the media, it’s too late. They’re only pretending to do their job now, knowing it can’t affect the outcome. I despair for my country.
They’re targeting people with “diminished capacity” in Iowa, too.
Iowa, interestingly, has a law (clearly unenforced) that “idiots and imbeciles” are ineligible to vote; there’s a referendum to replace that language with something more clinical.
