Take Obama’s own advice tonight: “Turn off the TV!”

By Michelle Malkin  •  October 29, 2008 11:59 AM

You can’t escape the hype over Barack Obama’s 30-minute infomercial tonight.

It’ll be aired on four broadcast networks at 8 p.m. Eastern. The NYTimes notes this “will be the first time in 16 years that a presidential candidate has bought network time, in prime time, for a prolonged campaign commercial.”

Michelle Obama told Jay Leno that her daughter Malia complained: “‘You’re going to be on all the TV? Are you going to interrupt my TV?’”

‘No, we didn’t buy time on Disney and Nick.’ And she said, ‘Oh good.’ And got up and walked away. She’s just like: ‘Don’t mess with My TV.’ “

Hmph. Looks like the Obamas aren’t practicing what they preach to other parents:

We’re going to have to parent better, and turn off the television set, and put the video games away, and instill a sense of excellence in our children, and that’s going to take some time.

Video game makers had a good snort when the Obamessiah then turned around and started advertising on…video games.

Do as they say: Turn off the TV!

I’ll cover the Obamgasm so you don’t have to tune in. Expect a rehash of the “higher purpose” drivel we heard on Monday.

Here’s a thought: Let’s demand that McCain get a half-hour of air time, gratis, since that is what would (well, should) be required if the Fairness Doctrine was reinistituted, and it very well may be under an Obama administration.

The John Wayne movie set in Hawaii was “Donovan’s Reef.”

“In Harms Way” was a WWII movie with Kirk Douglas and a HUGE cast of actors and actresses you loved. In black and white.

Food Channel – In what is sure to be a classic Iron Chef, the secret ingredient is a video of Obama praising every domestic terrorist from the 60s. Michelle Obama pins Mario Batali to the floor and beats the stew out of him with a crockpot, while her assistant Joe Biden burns the tape before smothering it in an arugula/ham mousse, then mails it to the French as a thank you for throwing Hezbollah out of Lebanon.

Since everything once taboo is now exceptable to the Democratic socialists, I wonder if they will inject subliminal messaging in Obama’s 30 minute propaganda piece?

    Once in office, the Democratic Leadership majorities in Congress will institute CHANGES in the United States of America’s domestic and foreign policies, to one that is more in line with the national majority party. They are;

    1) The U.S.A. will henceforth be known as the United Socialist States of America.

    2) The position known previously as the Office of the President of the United States, will now be refered to as the Office of the Chairman-in-Chief.

    3) The two term restriction for CIC is hereby recended, for the good of the people. (Change)

    4) The government will hereby assume control of all media outlets to “insure” fairness in reporting.(Customized version of the old “Fairness Doctrine.”)

    5) The Freedom of Speech Enhancement Act will become the Law of the Land. (Anyone uttering words deemed detrimental, or harmful to the “State” will be re-educated. Those deemed unre-educatable will be treated with extreme methods.)

    6) A National Corps of Volunteers will have police powers in order to help local police departments maintain harmony, and insure tranquility.

This is just scary to think about…perfect for the Halloween season, no?

    The Duke was the best.

What I wish was available on DVD is the TV special he did back in the late 60’s (or was it early 70’s); IIRC it was called Swing Out Sweet Land. A whole slew of Hollywood celebs existed back then who weren’t ashamed to be patriotic, and they joined the Duke in celebrating what made/makes America great.

One especially memorable bit was the great Red Skelton retelling how his teacher recited an annotated version of the Pledge of Allegiance. He’d done it elsewhere and I know it was on YouTube. Well done. It’s what we need more of.

    Daniel 6:16
The king ordered that Daniel be cast into a den of lions. The king hoped that Daniel’s God would deliver him, saying, Thy God who thou servest continually, he will deliver thee. A large stone was placed over the den of lions and was sealed. The king was so worried about Daniel that he couldn’t sleep that night. The first thing the next morning, the king went to see if Daniel had been killed. He cried out to see if Daniel was alive and Daniel answered him, My God hath sent his angel, and hath shut the lions’ mouths, that they have not hurt me.

The king was overjoyed and had Daniel pulled out of the lions den. He then brought the men who had accused Daniel and threw them in the den of lions, along with every member of their families. The lions tore them to pieces before they could even hit the ground.

    Daniel 3:19
19 Then Nebuchadnezzar was furious with Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego, and his attitude toward them changed. He ordered the furnace heated seven times hotter than usual
    Daniel 3:26
Nebuchadnezzar then approached the opening of the blazing furnace and shouted, “Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego, servants of the Most High God, come out! Come here!” So Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego came out of the fire,

    Pathological Lying
Has no problem lying coolly and easily and it is almost impossible for them to be truthful on a consistent basis. Can create, and get caught up in, a complex belief about their own powers and abilities. Extremely convincing and even able to pass lie detector tests.

And the sycophants in the media and academia. The almost rapture look on some of the faces at Obamaevents is rather unsettling.
