How some Philadelphians celebrate victory: Riot!

Brotherly love.
Your team wins. How do you show your pleasure?
Take to the streets, rampage, overturn cars, and rob banks.
Here’s a vid of a car torching after the Phillies’ win:
You’ll recall that a Philadelphia Daily News columnist threatened riots if Obama loses on Tuesday.
Who knows what they’ll do if he wins.

I dont know why they are robbing Banks Obama is going to do that for them if he wins.
Maybe ACORN cant delieve the votes ?
That’s why the Fresh Prince moved to Bel Air, remember?
It’s the home of former DNC chair and current Pennsylvania Mayor Ed “I breaking speed laws with impunity” Rendell. Thuggery and lawlessness is part of their culture…except when it comes to cheesesteaks. On this matter they are gentlemen.
Do you think we have this to look forward to Wednesday?
On the whole, I WOULDN’T rather be in Philadelphia…
It’s what they always do, win or lose. An excuse is an excuse. Do we expect anything better?
Is it just a warmup for Tuesday-Wednesday??
Next Wed morning should be interesting no matter which way it goes.
Lord, get me out of L.A.and on the road for Atlanta. Please…
A classic example of a group of people that support Obama.
LGM.. you were saying something about Obama, McCain and “Classy”????
I hope, hope, that whatever the outcome of the election, both Obama’s and McCain’s supporters conduct themselves in a civilized manner.
I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t worried though, based on the conduct I’ve seen during the campaign.
Thank God I don’t live there anymore…
This is nothing. wait till wednesday. My parents moved out of Chicago in 1968. Tuesday we are going to see the replay times 10 (New York, Philidelphia, Detroit, Chicago, Gary, Los Angeles, St. Louis, Memphis, D.C, San Francisco) if odumbo wins, times 100 if he loses. Buy your gas this weekend.
I’d better clean my shotgun’s and pistols.
30 Pieces Of Silver, how’re you coming on getting your pistol? Better get it quickly! If BHO wins, he’ll make it illegal for you to own one. If he loses, you’ll need it to fight off the rioters.
Either way, you’ll need it!
Since when has politics ever been civilized?
Rhetorical, but yeah.
And your ammo.
I forgot Atlanta.
We need to put up a fence around Philadelphia to keep the stupid people from getting out.
Sound advice.
urban reforestation. good for the environment.
As a native of Philadelphia, I find this activity crappy. But, you KNOW what I’d be called had I related similar activities back in 1980 in my neighborhood and with LaSalle, Temple, Univ of Pa,and St. Joseph basketball games…. the elements were the same in who initiated the carnage then incited others to follow suit. Oh but, I can’t speak because I’m RAAAACCCIIISSST. Bring on the results of an Obama loss… I’m too angry to not care anymore….. bring it on.
We won’t have to wait until Wednesday. Tuesday night, L.A. will be on fire regardless.
I am seriously considering going to Chicago tomarrow to conduct some business. I fear, if obummer loses, i may not be able to go there safely for several weeks after the 4th.
Extraploate this…
Who Wants to Incite Riots and Why?

I could be wrong, but I don’t think they’ll burn their Capital City.

One man’s riot is another man’s organized community… 2 sides to everything.
At the risk of being labeled with the ad hominem of the week, I’d like to ask: are you saying that all Phillies fans are Obama supporters, or just the ones who were rioting?
Not expecting it to be much better here. I will be very careful about where I go for a few days. If Obama loses I would not be suprised to see some vandalism on the house as I have a McCain sign prominently displayed and there are more than a few Obama supporters in some of the sketchy apartments not too far from here.
Whether Obama wins or loses, we can expect the same sort of behavior!
Glad I got out of philly years ago. Truly sad what became of it…
To the people responsible:
Thanks for once again playing into every nasty stereotype about this city, and its fans.
You’re an embarrassment.
No love,
Hex
It’s coming along. Still working on the application. The People’s Republik of NJ isn’t making it easy. They want references, background check, employers for the past 10 yrs and addresses for the past ten yrs. I’m getting there. Don’t I know it. I have access to guns… not to worry.
Red Pill said:”I could be wrong, but I don’t think they’ll burn their Capital City.”
The ignorant masses in Chicago and Gary don’t know Socialism from Social Studies. Hyde Park won’t burn to the Miracle Mile won’t burn. East Chicago, Gary, Cicero, Calumet City, Those places will be on fire.
Blame America Last
I used to go to all the Big5 games back in the sixties … Temple was really scary!….. I went to Penn State later….lol
Why wait for Obama to win or lose. The libs will take any excuse to riot – this is a much quicker re-distribution of wealth.
Silver said:”They want references, background check, employers for the past 10 yrs and addresses for the past ten yrs. I’m getting there. Don’t I know it. I have access to guns… not to worry.”
You should run for POTUS. Simpler process.
30pcs
Wow, I never thought I’d say this but MN’s conceal carry app is much smaller….. this is a shocka!…. Sorry about NJ..
In addition to gas and ammo, I would suggest making sure you have some cash on hand.
I can see Al Qaeda, Hamas, Weathermen or some other terrorists, using the upcoming rioting as a cover to take out the power grid. Remember, it was a substation in Canada that blacked out the East Coast a few years ago.
The rioting in celebration/anger will be made worse in a power outage. Just look at how civil people in New Orleans behaved after the lights went out from Katrina.
Be prepared to take care of and defend yourself and your family for a while.
Pray for the best, prepare for the worst.
Idiots.
I can’t speak to other cities, but I just don’t see(much)trouble in NYC… OK there will always be some jerkies, but that is on any given day. I can see
4 more years of incessant wining about a “stolen election” but riot’s, nawww don’t see it.
And if I am wrong, the NYPD seems to have no problem applying force.
Im actually concerned this could happen in ANY state of Obama loses. I had a conversation with a former Clinton supporter friend of mine who said of Palin “Everytime I see her I just want to RIP her face off”. She was going on and on about getting people VIOLENT at rallies (really, there is just no arguing with Sheeple) so i didnt.
She went to the Obama rally in NV over the weekend and made a point of it to call to tell me how “peaceful and loving” every one at the rally was… she was “hooked” on him.
OMG… I just kept thinking of SOMA from Brave New World. Sooo creepy.
“the warm, the richly coloured, the infinitely friendly world of soma-holiday. How kind, how good-looking, how delightfully amusing every one was! ”
Just wait until their Dear Leader loses, and these folks wake up…
it won’t just be in Philly, it’ll be all over the country whether or not dear leader wins or looses…add the open borders crowd to the mix and we will be no better than what goes on south of the border…I can only hope I am wrong…
This happens in every major city that wins a major sporting event. This is nothing particularly isolated to Philly. It was much worse when Boston finally won the WS, and 10x this in Denver when Colorado won the Stanley Cup.
But, I do and have told people I know to expect much worse next Wed. win or lose. Much worse if “The One” loses.
Oh and I forgot to mention the mental health evaluation. It’s okay – can’t wait until we move. Whatever, you do just don’t mention the process around my husband. Whew. He’s a redhead to boot.
The one person not surprised: Smirky
After all PA’s full of rednecks…
Either way, better lock and load on Tuesday evening – Wednesday may be too late if you’re in a highly volatile location.
whatever
,you do….UCLA did the same thing when they upset USC a couple years ago. Hmmm, a strikingly leftist community turning violent for no good reason. Anyone surprised?
I was watching the game from a bar in central Pennsylvania, and I mentioned to another couple that the National Guard must be rolling up Broad Street about now. They had a weird look on their face, and then they told me that their daughter is a freshman at Temple. They were worried.
Luckily the series did not end on election night, or else you would have seen real fireworks in Philly.
Maybe it’s a good thing they have strict gun control in liberal bastions. They’re not to be trusted with loaded weapons.
I’m not. I’m in the ‘burbs in a community with many hunters. If I were in Newark or Camden I’d be curled up in a fetal position in my crawl space until the storm passes.
At an Eagles game, the Philadelphians booed Santa Claus.
Another time, they booed a Cowbiy being lead off on a backboard.
JSR, I drive a truck. Just happen to be in L.A. getting loaded right now. I hope to be somewhere nice and rural Tues night/Wed morning. In fact, I may plan my trip to make sure I am in the middle of nowhere come the aftermath of election day.
The City of Brotherly Love…
I hope you’re talking about your truck getting loaded.
It may be best to look at what the Chicago cops are talking about, they foresee some intense action next week:
Suburban cops and retired CPD are being brought in to help, ‘if needed’ http://secondcitycop.blogspot.com/2008/10/this-is-not-good.html
Take a look at the comments and see what the guys in blue are hearing.
I for one am uneasy as I live in a very mixed (Obama/McCain) ‘burb, near a major mall. People might be looking for hope & change at the mall. I’m keeping my kid home from school on wednesday as well.
Chicago may be ground-zero especially with The One here to lead them on….
I’ll take my McCain/Palin sign out of the yard on Tuesday and replace it with an Obama sign LMAO. Hey, you have to play the game!
I have plenty of shotgun ammo and motion activated surveillance video cameras ready just in case. I’m sure the Obama freedom fighters have already done their recognizance in my hood.
..and started dating Ellie May. Or have I gaffed my sitcoms….?….
No. No. No. He was the guy that had that hit song: “Can’t Touch This.”
well, he said he was going to bring people together…didn’t he.
God Bless My People America and perhaps this one last chance to serve my country. Be with those good people of Philadelphia who but try to live their lives in peace and may every citizen be armed in these troubled time. Damn the rioters to Hell.
Amen

Gun Sales Rise in Uncertain Times:
NBC
Published: October 29, 2008
Hey 30, you need to get Mr 30 an account. What he said yesterday was funny as he77!
Lets all head down to Genos or Pats and maybe they will riot in the park across the street for us. We’ll call it Dinner Theatre and then its win-win for all.
Its always sunny in Philladelphia.
Well isn’t that special, Al Jazeera. I thought Obama is not a Muslim….
Looks like a duck, walks like a duck, gotta be a duck.
Thanks, sambo! I’d tried talking him into it. No dice. I’ll post more of his stuff. He has me in stitches all the time.
I live in Philly and all things considered I expected it to be much worse! This city is an example if what 56 years of democrat rule in a city will get you. Bread and circuses.
I have to be in Chicago next week for business. I still own a house there (I am renting it out) and had been planning on stopping in and checking on my tennants. I wonder if I should stay by the airport.
I’m saying that Philadelphia County and the immediate surrounding area heavily supports Obama. So I conclude that most of the people involved in these acts support Obama. Not an irrefutable deduction, but certainly meets or exceeds a Biden standard of reasoning.
At least they’re not like those hicks in Western Pennsylvania… you know, the ones who work 12 hours a day then go home to spend a peaceful night with family… yeah, good thing those rioters aren’t like them…
I guess New Jersey is still having problems understanding “…the right of the people…” Move. We have have good laws in Oklahoma!
I wouldn’t advertise that in NJ. They might brand you a “right-wing fringe terrorist.”
ECS
‘Always sunny’…HA!
Green Man!!
Philadelphia – the City of Brotherly Love. I’m glad I am not their brother, or even remotely related.
Elm Creek, a fellow Oklahoman! You type faster than I..took the words out of my mouth. I don’t forsee much of a problem here.
Reading Mao Zedong’s “Little Red Book” demands that there be a revolution every generation.
You could say that.
Here in NJ if you own an old 22 cal. rifle that has one of those tube magazines that holds something like 18 LR .22 cal rounds… it is considered AN ASSAULT WEAPON. If you don’t modify it with a lower capacity mag, you are going to jail.
An assault weapon. Right…
And NJ was the first state to pass a law requiring all handguns to have biometric readers so the owner is the only one that can fire it. Never mind that the technology doesn’t exist.
That’s what we got here in NJ… clueless leaders.
Philadelphia sucks and stinks. It’s a twofer.
OK, serious question:
have two little ones…no guns…want to get some (or at least one) before January (if/when, of course)…we live in a semi-urban area. Just recently our car was broken into and houses robbed.
Should we take the kids to the grandparents’ house in the country for the next couple of days?
Win or loose ~ How much of our tax money is going to riot police?
Pfft. Weak.
Just another way in which Boston is superior to Philadelphia. We cause far, far more damage when our teams win.
Oh well
A chicken in every pot
An assault weapon in every hand
If a New Jerseyite Nanny-stater were to look into my safe they just might just get the A plexy. (I own a tube fed .22!)
We have no licenses, except Concealed Carry, no registration, no identity card. But we are getting too damn many liberals moving here. IF YOU QUIT JERSEY- THINK ARIZONA we need the help.
If there should be civil unrest you will be on your own for awhile:
Watts
South Central
Detroit
Liberty City
World Series?
Stanley Cup?
Hot Dog eating contest?
The Heathens rage.

“I ask, sir, what is the militia? It is the whole people, except for a few public officials.”
-George Mason, 3 Elliot, Debates at 425-426.
30, what’s the stats on the number of crimes committed with handguns in NJ? With such strict gun control, I’ll bet you don’t get but one or two murders a year.
Virginia and Florida have some of the easiest conceal laws.
Before anyone mentions the Virginia Tech shootings, remember, that campus had a no gun rule in effect. Just shows you how some people just ignore the laws doesn’t it?
Someone there needs to organize the masses.
pianoman, you win.
Gun Free Zones are a joke.
It’s like “shooting fish in a barrel.” (pun intended)
TX Concealed Handgun Law ~ crime has gone DOWN!!!
Arm the teachers and preachers!
In regards to #75……I think a visit to Grandparents is a wonderful thing anytime….so why not?
#74
Yes we do have some good laws in OK…although some of them are under attack by groups like the Chamber of Commerce…HB1804 is one of them…
Gee, and I just thought there’d be riots if Obama lost… silly me.
If God was to give the USA an enima Philadelphia would be where he’d put the tube.
As to what I perceive as the main thrust of this thread……
IF there is rioting it will probably happen in larger cities…..
What will be interesting is the government response….
Will it be kept as a local “law and order” matter?
Or?…..(if rioting appears in more than a few cities)…will martial law be imposed?
Better safe as it were.“no guns…want to get some” get some. You can get some really inexpensive safes to keep the kids out–hide it in the closet.
Push comes to shove you ARE the family’s ONLY real best chance. Take some lessons too. Google firearms training -your state-
God Bless GDSuffern
Which city WOULD be best purged? I will vote for San Fransicko myself.
In my state of Idaho’s the death rate for firearms is 12.3 per 100,000. Everyone has guns and knows how to use them. It’s safer than driving on our roads where the death rate is at 14.2 per 100,000. In the U.S. there are are over 1.5bmillion auto accidents related to deer and moose on the roads . I think we need more guns.
The government doesn’t need to protect us from everything
GEESSSS!!
.
Ditto with one addition: if you can, buy your guns at gun shows or through private sale. No national check and more importantly, no purchase record that way.
If the Obama Administration decides to confiscate, the first thing they will do is recreate the background check database and then past out the addresses.
I work on Government facility here in Oklahoma City. I had to go through all of that to get clearance to work here! If you have to go through that just to buy a .38 revolver, what do you need to do to go to the Post Office?
By the way, you can put me down as a reference if you want to. I won’t mention that little thing with the Black Panthers!
Arizona
I don’t know how it is down there but in Idaho thousand of people are armed to the gills with guns. They better not start anything up here.
Excellent advice walterc.
Chicago is going to burn to the ground on the night of November 4th and it doesn’t matter if BO wins or loses. If he loses he’ll give a speech that will inflame it even more.
