How some Philadelphians celebrate victory: Riot!

By Michelle Malkin  •  October 30, 2008 12:46 PM

Brotherly love.

Your team wins. How do you show your pleasure?

Take to the streets, rampage, overturn cars, and rob banks.

Here’s a vid of a car torching after the Phillies’ win:

You’ll recall that a Philadelphia Daily News columnist threatened riots if Obama loses on Tuesday.

Who knows what they’ll do if he wins.

I could be wrong, but I don’t think they’ll burn their Capital City.

Founded in Chicago in 1919, the Communist Party of the United States has an outstanding history in the struggles for peace, democratic rights, racial and gender equality, economic justice, union organization, and international solidarity. Our Party is organized on the principle of democratic centralism, combining maximum democratic discussion and decision-making with maximum unity of will and action, ensuring our ability to play a strong organizing role in the class struggle. We focus our efforts on increasing our ability to organize millions into struggle, fighting anti-communism as a divisive weapon of the capitalist class. With Marxism-Leninism guiding our actions, the Communist Party strives to build the broadest unity against global capitalist imperialism now headed by U.S. imperialism, for immediate gains and reforms that benefit working people, and for a progressive democratization of the government, the economy, and society of our country on the road to and after winning socialism.

I think they’ll go elsewhere to do their damage.

In addition to gas and ammo, I would suggest making sure you have some cash on hand.

I can see Al Qaeda, Hamas, Weathermen or some other terrorists, using the upcoming rioting as a cover to take out the power grid. Remember, it was a substation in Canada that blacked out the East Coast a few years ago.

The rioting in celebration/anger will be made worse in a power outage. Just look at how civil people in New Orleans behaved after the lights went out from Katrina.

Be prepared to take care of and defend yourself and your family for a while.

Pray for the best, prepare for the worst.

Gun Sales Rise in Uncertain Times:
    NBC
    Published: October 29, 2008

Gun sales are on the rise, and gun shop owners say the uncertain economy and upcoming election are the reasons. Some report their sales are up as much as 25 percent from last year. One of those gun shops that is seeing gun sales soar is the Albuquerque Pawn Shop in Albuquerque, New Mexico. “Probably 20 to 25 percent, but inquiries are probably up 50 to 60 percent,” said owner Jay Johnston. Johnston says there are a few reasons for the rise in gun sales. He says one reason is the bad economy. Johnston says more people are buying guns to protect themselves. He says he is hearing another reason even more. “If one particular candidate is elected, then rumor has it that there’s gonna be a serious gun ban and I think people wanna get the guns while they can,” Johnston said…

A classic example of a group of people that support Obama.

At the risk of being labeled with the ad hominem of the week, I’d like to ask: are you saying that all Phillies fans are Obama supporters, or just the ones who were rioting?

I’m saying that Philadelphia County and the immediate surrounding area heavily supports Obama. So I conclude that most of the people involved in these acts support Obama. Not an irrefutable deduction, but certainly meets or exceeds a Biden standard of reasoning.

30 Pieces Of Silver, how’re you coming on getting your pistol? Better get it quickly! If BHO wins, he’ll make it illegal for you to own one. If he loses, you’ll need it to fight off the rioters.
    Either way, you’ll need it!
It’s coming along. Still working on the application. The People’s Republik of NJ isn’t making it easy. They want references, background check, employers for the past 10 yrs and addresses for the past ten yrs. I’m getting there. Don’t I know it.

I guess New Jersey is still having problems understanding “…the right of the people…” Move. We have have good laws in Oklahoma!

I have access to guns… not to worry.

I wouldn’t advertise that in NJ. They might brand you a “right-wing fringe terrorist.”

    You could say that.

Here in NJ if you own an old 22 cal. rifle that has one of those tube magazines that holds something like 18 LR .22 cal rounds… it is considered AN ASSAULT WEAPON. If you don’t modify it with a lower capacity mag, you are going to jail.

    An assault weapon. Right…

And NJ was the first state to pass a law requiring all handguns to have biometric readers so the owner is the only one that can fire it. Never mind that the technology doesn’t exist.

That’s what we got here in NJ… clueless leaders.

30, what’s the stats on the number of crimes committed with handguns in NJ? With such strict gun control, I’ll bet you don’t get but one or two murders a year. :)

Virginia and Florida have some of the easiest conceal laws.

Before anyone mentions the Virginia Tech shootings, remember, that campus had a no gun rule in effect. Just shows you how some people just ignore the laws doesn’t it?

As to what I perceive as the main thrust of this thread……

IF there is rioting it will probably happen in larger cities…..

What will be interesting is the government response….

Will it be kept as a local “law and order” matter?

Or?…..(if rioting appears in more than a few cities)…will martial law be imposed?

In my state of Idaho’s the death rate for firearms is 12.3 per 100,000. Everyone has guns and knows how to use them. It’s safer than driving on our roads where the death rate is at 14.2 per 100,000. In the U.S. there are are over 1.5bmillion auto accidents related to deer and moose on the roads . I think we need more guns.

Ditto with one addition: if you can, buy your guns at gun shows or through private sale. No national check and more importantly, no purchase record that way.

If the Obama Administration decides to confiscate, the first thing they will do is recreate the background check database and then past out the addresses.

I work on Government facility here in Oklahoma City. I had to go through all of that to get clearance to work here! If you have to go through that just to buy a .38 revolver, what do you need to do to go to the Post Office?

By the way, you can put me down as a reference if you want to. I won’t mention that little thing with the Black Panthers!
