The kids and I toasted our pumpkin seeds, carved our pumpkins, and are monitoring our sugar levels (I’m partial to Smarties).

I didn’t have time to make a costume this year. For those of you who are new to the blog, check out my iphone costume from last year here.

My son is currently obsessed with Pokemon, so he chose Pikachu:

Here are the creations adorning our porch:

The Michelle Obama pumpkin was too scary to carve:

Let me know what Halloween mischief you were up to tonight.

One last treat for you: A cool stop-motion animation video of a Halloween Awakening…

I have a zombie, a vampire and Wednesday Addams with me tonight. We carved our pumpkins last night…four of the biggest pumpkins ever, and the two smallest went to school today in “Country Bumpkin” outfits.

Apparently people are offended by Halloween here, but it is perfectly OK to call people “Country Bumpkins” for their “Harvest Celebration.

I dunno…maybe if they had said “Harvest Celebration” on any other day it wouldn’t bug me so much. However, considering Harvest Festivals and Celebrations are far more Pagan in nature than Halloween, it just completes the entire hypocrisy of the Liberal Education System.

Anyway, we are watching “Ghost Hunters Live”, about to get some Taco hell and awaiting the first of the neighborhood crumb-snatchers, soon to go out and strong-arm the neighbors for sugar.

I already have laid claim to everyone’s Butterfingers, Twix and anything containing Marshmallow. All three of which my kids don’t like, so I am guilt free.

Happy Halloween. Man, do I miss being able to go door to door myself.

I can relate. Last year we had a bunch of teenagers come back repeatedly — no costumes, and pillowcases for bags. Talk about brazen. One kid did make the effort to wear his backpack in the front. I asked what he was and he said, “A suicide bomber.” Arrrgggh.

i have actually been getting more and more T or T’s every year over the last 5 years or so. The farther away from the whole Tylenol deal, the better it has become. Either that, or the parents are into it far more than the kids, reliving their own childhoods….not that I would know about that firest-hand or anything like that.

We do the yard up every year. This year i even cut out our own tombstones and painted them etc. I just couldn’t see paying all the money they wanted for those styrofoam ones at the store which break and fall apart after one year.

I have to say, with the help of my daughters who helped more this year than any other year, our house looks the best that it ever has. I can’t wait till it is dark enough to put the candles in the Jack O’Lanterns and get a good picture of it.

Gonna hate it when they are all too old to do this stuff with me anymore. The middle kid already was asking to go out with her friends rather than with me. Broke my heart.

Talk about Scary Tricks or Treats: Obamas fundamental change

    B. Hussein Obama speaks of a necessity of fundamental change to our 200 Year Old Government and hope for the future.
Let me first remind the reader that the base and fundamental aspects of These United States of America are: We are a Representative Republic. We have a Constitution duly adapted thru convention and adopted by these United States of America.
As a supposed ‘Constitutional Scholar and Professor’ B. Hussein Obama seems to have missed the three, count them THREE methods that our Brilliant Founders included within the ‘Framework’ of our Constitution to deal with the changes which the future (to Our Founders) might require.

Let us begin with The Constitution itself:
Article Five of the United States Constitution describes the process whereby the Constitution may be altered.

    Then of course there is:
The 1st Amendment to The Constitution in The Bill of Rights.
    Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof;
    or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press;
(we are all familiar with these, But what about the following?)

or the right of the people peaceably to assemble,
(This was specifically included as a right to Assemble to convene a new Constitutional Convention. Hillary wants this, at least she is willing to trust The Constitution)

and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.
(as distasteful as it may seem in todays world, this is a right to get together with like minds and ‘lobby’ the government to influence ‘grievances, disagreements with policy’).

None of these methods consider our popularity in Europe, Asia or anywhere else.
Neither do they require an Opinion rendered by The New York Times, Hollywood or Hugo Chavez.

Then the kids started getting a little older but things were still polite. One teenage girl in costume showed up with her little sister. I offered her some candy but she refused, stating that she was only taking her sister out for trick or treating.

But some of the outright rudeness in a lot of the kids was downright shameful. If I had been even half that rude during Trick or Treating, I would have been dragged home by my ears if I was lucky. Fortunately, behavior like that was the exception not the rule.

We’ve had a pretty good turn out this year. Some really cute costumes. I notice that there doesn’t seem to be “one” character that’s “it” this year, unlike some years past.

The Studmuffin has set up a fog machine. He hides it in the bushes at the front of the house and uses dry ice to keep it cool so the fog stays close to the ground. In years past, little boys love to hang around and just watch the fog machine and check out the “graveyard”.

This year it made two little kids cry as it went off just as they were walking down the steps to leave.

I felt really, really bad :(

Ugh…. my teenage daughter decided to go trick or treating with her friend… and as I dropped her off, I suddenly discovered that other teenage girls were there and that possibly some boys were going with them. I’ve got a pretty good idea about which one is going to “magically” show up.

And guess who is at home recording her “GhostHunters” marathon for her?

Well, I’m giving them 35 more minutes and then I am reactivating my military skills and going old school recon. At least GPS tracking and parental controls on the new cell phones make them easer to track these days.

“Know your enemies better than thyself” So if you hear about any “mysterious” disappearance of any teenage boys in Colorado tomorrow ….

(p.s. why is sexy fairy and sluttly reindeer in with the teen girls this year??? MM you’ve written about this before….)

Seriously though, I’ve never noticed the moon in the low western part of the sky at 7:00pm. Anyone else?

Perfectly normal. The moon is near the beginning of it’s new cycle, which means it rises early and sets early. It rises and sets about 50 minutes earlier each night. Near the end of its cycle (a little over 3 weeks from now) it will rise very late and be low in the east just before sunrise.

Follow this guide: The first quarter moon reaches its highest point at sunset; the full moon reaches its highest point at midnight; and the last quarter moon reaches its highest point at sunrise.

My huge gripe is that we have a couple ADULTS who hold out bags with their kids. I don’t mean the moms taking toddlers out holding the bag for them — that’s okay I guess. It’s the adults walking to the door with their kids and asking for candy themselves.

How clueless is that? Trick or treating is for KIDS.

The good news is that trick or treating is back, at least in our red-county tract-home/stucco box suburb in Southern California. Lots of kids out in a nice safe ethnically blended area. I’m not a Halloween fan other than the candy treats.

I just had a thought about the polls that indicates how inaccurate they are – the numbers only add up to 100%. With all the fraud vote shouldn’t they add up to more like 110% or something?

I stand by my earlier prediction, (I know you all laughed at me then too), McCain / Palin will carry Massachusetts. And I’m even more certain now that a Mass state senator, Dianne Wilkerson, got caught on tape stuffing cash bribes for liquor licenses under her bra. (What’s she got against bag men anyway?)

WRKO has been playing a sound bite all day of Cadillac Deval Patrick’s endorsing Wilkerson. It’s just hilarious! Why LOOK at that! There goes a GOP ad now!

People in Mass are just that much more disgusted as being DUPED by Deval Patrick, (not me, I voted for Muffy), who was Mr. ‘Yes we can’ during his campaign and whose election success was influential in crafting Obama’s campaign image. So much for images..

I drove through south Lynn (with my McCain / Palin bumper sticker) a totally racially mixed area and I didn’t see even ONE Obama sticker. I only saw a couple McCain/Palin stickers but I’m amazed at the total absence of any outward visible support for Obama in this heavily democrat city. (You wouldn’t have believed how many Kerry Edwards stickers there were in 2004 – people aren’t shy about bumper stickers around here.)

Tuesday may be VERY interesting indeed!

Boys, I know I can’t be there this year. Daddy’s stuck in a town called Amarillo, Tx tonight. But I miss you both desperately. And I love you both with every fiber of my being. I want you both to know how proud I am of the boys you are, and the young men you are to fast growing into.

Angela, when you read this to the boys, please hold them tight for me. And do me another favor, when you read this to them, tell them to give you a hug from me. I love you all, even the girls I want to lock away in a convent.

Do you want to know that scares me, this Central PA redneck (according to Murtha)? Watching all of the cities burn, whether Obama wins or loses. I’ll be damned if I’m going to pay for this nonsense.

In 1989, prisoners at the Camp Hill prison rioted and burned down the facility. They were housed in tents (it was September/October) and the prisoners sued claiming that their civil rights were violated because of inadequate housing. The judge, apparently an adult, stated that the prisoners burned down their own housing, and that they should suck it up until sufficient facilities were available. When the koolaid drinkers burn down their neighborhoods, some judges and bureaucrats should apply the same standards. Don’t expect me to pay for your homes that you burned out!!!
