Tired of throwing all his nutball friends off the bus, Barack Obama has taken to throwing disfavored reporters off his plane. He needs to make room for bigwig media sycophants and documentarians.

Journalists from three major newspapers that endorsed John McCain have been booted from Barack Obama’s campaign plane for the final leg of the presidential race.
The Washington Times reported Friday that it was notified of the Obama campaign’s decision Thursday evening — even though the paper has covered Obama from the start.
Executive Editor John Solomon told FOXNews.com that the Obama campaign said it didn’t have enough seats on the plane, but “I don’t think the explanation makes sense to us.”
“We’ve been traveling since 2007 with him. … We’re a relevant newspaper — every day we break news,” Solomon said. “And to suddenly be kicked off the plane for people who haven’t covered it as aggressively or thoroughly as we are … it sort of feels unfair.”
He said the newspaper protested but was turned down again by the campaign.
“I can only hope that the candidate who describes himself as wanting to unite the nation doesn’t have some sort of litmus test for who he decides gets to cover the campaign,” Solomon said, noting that the Obama campaign’s decision came just two days after the paper endorsed McCain.
The New York Post and Dallas Morning News also have been kicked off Obama’s plane.

Maureen Dowd is the female Mark Morford. They are both hate-filled columnists who each enjoy a cult following of other people who lack grace and even a modicum of kindness. In my opinion, everything they write are “hit pieces” because they are intended to inflame and divide. Ugly, ugly people, both of them.

To be fair — not that I read her on a regular basis, but I have read Maureen Dowd columns that have been just as hard (I would say devestating if I actually took her seriously) on Bill, Hillary and Obama as she has been on Bush, McCain and Palin. That doesn’t make her any less of a hack, but I don’t find her writing overly partisan.
Obama claimed a few months ago that he would not support the fairness doctrine.
However, either of these two things will happen:
1. A supermajority of liberal democrats will pass the legislation, Obama will pretend he wants to veto it, knowing full well he has the dem supermajority to override his veto. He will act outraged, etc…
2. He will change his mind and go for it, considering he changes his mind every day…a la public campaign financing.
Fair enough?

First, the reporters that disagree. Next up, talk radio. After that, maybe the clubs that don’t cater to certain aggrieved groups?
We live in historic times, one where the idea that was America is slowly being replaced with socialist dogma without the offending buzzwords. Obama’s talk of the rich vs. poor is simply bourgeoisie vs. worker/proletariat. Not necessarily scary in and of itself, but scary that it appears to be working.
I find myself jealous of those that lived in the days full of national pride and our citizens had to earn their way.
I know that is a bit of revionist history, but Americans used to be proud, not ashamed of this great land and the sacrifices needed to create it.
Dowd’s articles may not qualify as “outrageous”, but they are hit pieces.
Take this line from Dowd for example.
“This chick flick, naturally, features a wild stroke of fate, when the two-year governor of an oversized igloo becomes commander in chief after the president-elect chokes on a pretzel on day one.”
I’d describe it as condescending trash. But hit piece suits it as well.
Dowd is not a reporter. She’s writes opinion pieces. Bad ones at that.
She may be off the McCain plane.. but there awe still NY Times reporters on it.
I’m laughing so hard I’m crying.
I would send an e-mail to all of the remaining reporters on the Obama plane stating,
“Yes, sit there silently and accept what has been done with your three collegues. Sit and pray you do not ask a routine question when the Dear Leader is having a bad day; a question that will place you in the group of people with “incorrect thoughts.”
Study history about such men. Did their conduct become more oppressive or benevolent over time? You will learn that the former is always true. This is what you have enabled for over two years. So be careful what you pray for….
What I see happening to the First Amendment under Obama scares me.
Already we have seen chilling conduct; talk of reinstituting the Firness doctrine, requesting justice department to supress political advertisements, sending of Secret Service to investigate unsubstantiated “death threats”, the invasion of Joe the Plumber’s privacy, the rejection of media outlets that are not willing to toe the line, etc.
I am taking Biden’s advice. Gird Your Loins.
How many reporters can they fit in a boxcar? Do they make them sew a C on their shirts, to identify conservatives?
If it is so easy to find said outrageous hit pieces, then I am sure you will have no problem linking to some, ideally ones published BEFORE she was booted. And I am not sure what you extrapolated from the joke I made about soap’s comment, but I would actually be just fine not carrying on this conversation as well.

I disagree. Her articles, with perhaps a few exceptions, are cheerleading, or helpful advice tomes for both Hilary and Obama. Compare that to the disdain and condescension she uses when writing about Palin or McCain.

Maybe this is what Obama means when he talks of “fairness.” Out of fairness, he wants to spread the wealth around, but only to those who adore and worship him. Of course, the First Amendment actually GUARANTEES a free press. So when they criticise her, it’s because the First Amendment is being exercised. Criticism of politicians isn’t UNCONSTITUTIONAL.
I know she excites some conservatives with her folksy manner, but wouldn’t you want someone who isn’t so ignorant when it comes to our basic liberties as Americans?

I can rationalize it when the media, or the preponderance of it, acts like an arm of one party or another. Sure, “Free” press means free, i.e. report as you wish, but then you have to seriously look at the way the “Fairness” Doctrine is being bandied about as a “cure” for free speech, but only on the conservative side. The you have Obama’s “truth squads” and Democrat backed illegal investigations of poor slobs like Joe the Plumber. Just to name a few. And this is just the campaign!
All of these are covered under the aegis of free speech. All are acts by liberal Democrats.
Is this the future we have to look forward to?
