If you don’t make me glow, you gotta go
Tired of throwing all his nutball friends off the bus, Barack Obama has taken to throwing disfavored reporters off his plane. He needs to make room for bigwig media sycophants and documentarians.
If you don’t make me glow, you gotta go.
Journalists from three major newspapers that endorsed John McCain have been booted from Barack Obama’s campaign plane for the final leg of the presidential race.
The Washington Times reported Friday that it was notified of the Obama campaign’s decision Thursday evening — even though the paper has covered Obama from the start.
Executive Editor John Solomon told FOXNews.com that the Obama campaign said it didn’t have enough seats on the plane, but “I don’t think the explanation makes sense to us.”
“We’ve been traveling since 2007 with him. … We’re a relevant newspaper — every day we break news,” Solomon said. “And to suddenly be kicked off the plane for people who haven’t covered it as aggressively or thoroughly as we are … it sort of feels unfair.”
He said the newspaper protested but was turned down again by the campaign.
“I can only hope that the candidate who describes himself as wanting to unite the nation doesn’t have some sort of litmus test for who he decides gets to cover the campaign,” Solomon said, noting that the Obama campaign’s decision came just two days after the paper endorsed McCain.
The New York Post and Dallas Morning News also have been kicked off Obama’s plane.

Obama-Facism at work.
Of things to come…?
Just a small hint of the things to come if the One is elected. God help us all.
Pretty petty thing to do.
If McCain did the same on his plane, there’d be a heckuva lot more leg room, that’s for sure.
This surprises us? Just Obama exhibiting his typical adolescent behavior.
hahaha – you thought I was going to say something racist didn’t you!
Well, McCain doesn’t really support 1st amendment rights (”so-called 1st amendment rights” to political speach), so why would Obama make an issue of it?
Isn’t it lovely: McCain/Feingold on the right, Fairness Doctrine on the left, and we’re stuck in the middle with the rapidly evaporating Constitution. Rock and a hard place, anyone?
Great headline!
The NY Post could make a great front page headline about this.
Obama Says:
Drink my Kool-Aid
or Get off my Plane!
they’re just lucky the plane was on the ground when notified.
Diversity, tolerance and inclusiveness. ROTFLMAO.
Cult of Personality…
Anyone remember how Obama chastised Maureen Dowd for pointing out that he had big ears?
We have a very sensitive collectivist here…
Making room for Jet and Essence magazines…
Nah, this election isn’t about race now, is it?
Big bro,’ here we come!
Maureen Dowd and Joe Klein were unavailable for comment.
I’ve got to admire his consistency, ya know? After all, the status quo has been free speach and freedom of the press… yet one more area where The Obamanation will bring Change(TM).
Uh, yes, please let this somehow make the media do their jobs! NOT.HOLDING.MY.BREATH.
Didn’t McCain throw Maureen Dowd and a few others off the plane a couple of weeks ago?
Just a note on some of the anti-McCain posers that have hung here since forever ago:
A spirited campaign has been made to infiltrate many pro-Hillary sites and discredit them. A more disorganized, but genuine effort has also been made to sow doubts among the unapologetically right wing sites such as redstate.com. Don’t you guys get it? This has been the Obama campaign’s sole strategy from the very beginning! The only way he wins is over a dispirited, disorganized, and demobilized opposition. This is how it has been for all of his campaigns. What surprises me is that everyone has fallen for it.
Obama is racking up enemies like there’s no tomorrow!
AJ, you should have given a splurt alert before posting that!

Heard this this AM from FNC. Had to turn up volume, thought I was not hearing it right… I was hearing right, WELCOME TO B. HUSSEIN’S AMERICA… PRESS CORP should be small, real easy to get a seat at press conferences…
Oh, I get it….
That desire to ‘reach across the aisle’ was only to wave good-bye out the window on the other side as the plane takes off
honestly, i dont see this as a huge issue..he didnt want them there because they werent people who supported him. was an election coverage tactic, nothing more. mccain did the same thing, and i dont think ill of him for having done so.
And once again, another example of how comically one sided this site is. I seriously doubt MM didn’t hear about McCain kicking Joe Klein (and Maureen Dowd, for that matter) off his plane because he didn’t like Klein’s (and Dowd’s) coverage of his campaign — and yet, mysteriously, there was no post about it here. The hypocrisy is just staggering.
Was the plane in flight?
It’s hard to feel sorry for the press corps, but when they select the papers that backed McCain, that ought to send a chill down people’s spines. Fox News Channel had better be marshaling their lawyers. Those two CBS affiliates in Florida and Pennsylvania ought to watch out for FCC action when they renew their licenses, if CBS doesn’t try to can them first. This is what Obama is all about, Change (toward a fascist society).
There’s a difference between disallowing someone on your plane who attacks and lies and distorts your views, and disallowing someone who simply supports the other candidate.
Let’s face it – if McCain booted every reporter / agency who supported the other side, he’d only need a single engine Cessna for his travels.
They always said the Left and not the Right would be the faction to bring about limits on free speech and freedom of information. I’ll be, if Obama isn’t about to prove’em right!
Is this the type of social justice Obama talks about?
Wait till you see the litmus for which companes get to stay in business!
Ahh. The great Uniter.
To all the dipsh*ts who seriously believe that Barry the Marxist is going to heal the racial divide, reach across the aisle, and make America a “purple Country.
Barry just told all you kool aid drinkers to GFY.

I think the point was that Obama claims to be inclusive and a “uniter,” whereas I don’t think McCain really has…
Bush did that all the time in 2000 (”uniter not a divider” – God I hated that stupid slogan…).
But even so, you do make a good point, and it should have been addressed in the post. Remember however, that conservatives are not swayed to accept a wrong just because someone else does it too.
Even so, I am sure it will help you to secure a position as a Fairness Doctrine Webmaster in the Obama administration.
Better go buy your shortwaves now so you’ll be able to pick up “Radio Free Rush” when he’s forced to put a pirate transmitter on a barge outside the territorial waters.
Obama would no doubt want to create this new department of government
The Ministry of Information
It’s purpose would be to administer the Fairness Doctrine v2.0, provide an official news publication using Pravda as a model and insuring that dissenting voices are squashed by digging up or fabricating dirt on individuals with view not in line with The One.
Michelle Speaking of Rollingstone, Matt Taibbi is blogging and he put up right up top. You think he has a crush on you or something? More like hoping you will mention him and drive his page hits up
I’ve seen this opportunistic movie too!
http://www.rollingstone.com/blogs/taibbiunbound/
sorry he put you up right at the top.
Let’s face it. If those reporters would only have oogled his “jeans.” They’d still be sitting on that plane.
I’m surprised that the conservative news people are surprised!!
If they and the American people are surprised at BHO’s action-WE ARE LOST!!!
At least with the Fairness Doctrine we’ll be able to get both sides of every issue: the Liberal AND the Left Wing!
My sentiments exactly!
NYK, unless you get your kicks wallowing in what you perceive to be hypocrisy, then why do you come here? Why do you bother to visit and post to a site that you find so offensive? I always try to avoid things I don’t like (such as visits to the dentist) and people-/ideas that I find offensive (I never visit KOS or HuffPo) – and yet you come here to engage people whose ideas and views you belittle and protest at every point. Why?
At least this time the plane was on the ground. Obamanite Industries is at this very moment developing an ejection seat for AirObama One:
You Vill Comply-Resistance is Futile.
Have a nice fall.

You know, I would really be interested in Michelle interviewing Rush, Hannity, Beck, Coulter, etc., and asking each one:
“What tyrannies must occur in order for you to advocate taking up arms in a founding-fathers, second-amendment fashion?”
Point taken, but Dowd at least is a columnist not a reporter, and a bitterly mean one at that, and never should have been on the plane in the first place. I think McCain’s campaign had some silly hope that it would neutralize her. That’s like thinking petting a cobra would neutralize its poison.
Once again the trolls on the left don’t know the difference between propagandists and real reporters. Maureen Dowd and Joe Kein are not real reporters.
Any questions?
Because she also likes black leather, rubber gloves and safe words?
ouchie!

And very sensitive people are very, very easily manipulated when they don’t have the upper hand. The basic impulse is “I’ll do or say whatever you want if you’ll just stop hurting my feelings!”
Chavez, Ahmadinejad, etc. surely recognize this, and when Obama sits down with them without preconditions, who do you think will take control of the conversation, and where do you think that conversation will go?
A teeny detail YOU left out… though it’s in your link.
Here we go again!
Yes. Are power tools required to remove that stick from your butt?
As a long time reader of this site I can tell you that any time you see the words “ajmontana said:” you should take the necessary precautions. AJ is a gem.
Today he throws them off his plane.
Tomorrow he throws them in jail for blaspheming The One. He’s already had prosecutors in St. Louis threaten to do exactly this, once he gets control of judicial appointments and the justice department he can actually start incarcerating his political opposition.
Like any good “Neo-COM”(munist) would be dictator would do of course.

Oh come on. At least try to be funny. That just came across as angry and petulant.
Perhaps nyk and LGM could produce their own blog and discuss all the stories they complain about that Michelle doesn’t cover here. Maybe we could assist by coming up with a name for their site.
Weren’t Dowd and Klein kicked off ‘coz of the article about Cindy McCain and not a political endorsement?
From “Under the Bus” ….
to
“Off the Plane”
Did it really? I was shooting for funny. Maybe I need more coffee. I’m sorry, JHSII.
Maureen Dowd is not a reporter or a journalist. She’s a fork-tongued op-ed columnist.

Yep, that’s one impulse, then there’s the one that says, “Shut up or I will destroy you with my gang of thugs who will dig into your background, ruin your reputation, audit your taxes, and eventually put you in jail…”
Just wait until he “remodels” the White House press room. Too bad there will only be enough room for MSNBC, CNN, and the NY Times.
At least with respect to the NY Post, that “paper” is just one step up from the Weekly World News, so no sympathy there.
As to the Washington Times, we all know throwing two cults in together in close quarters is a recipe for disaster. So the Moonies had to go.
Sorry Dallas Morning News, I have no explanation for you.
It represents the red-neck faction?
How can you say that? Maureen Dowd is a brilliant commenter on gender roles in politics gone awry.
Sorry, I couldn’t even type that with a straight face. The fact that she appears so often at the top of the NYT Most E-mailed list shows that there are a LOT of idiot liberals out there.
Mookie #53
Thanks for the object lesson in projection, Mookie.
The point with Dowd and Klein, regardless of how you feel about them or if they are commentators vs. journalists…They were apparently good enough to ride along BEFORE they wrote something that angered McCain. You can’t argue that you are kicking them off because they are not real journalists when you let them on in the first place.
Hey I don’t like the Obamination anymore than others on this blog, but really, you have a number of people on your private plane, taking up space, eating your food, IOWs draning your campaign funds, and the same people are going to dis you, and you are happy with that? Really folks, take a deep breath and think.
Would you hold a BBQ party and invite vegan Greenpeacers??
Think not.
Never been, but I always pictured Dallas as representing the ten gallon hat and bouffant faction.
He is a uniter, in getting only his side of the view.
Tolerance .. like none before .. well except maybe Italy under Mussolini,, Germany under Hitler.
you got that right….if installed dear leader will continue this on a grand scale…
Small point, but I believe the news outlets have to pay FMV for the space and food provided by the campaigns.
Again, chapoutier just doesn’t get it. at a certain point the hit pieces from Dowd and Klein became so outrageous that they were booted off McCain’s plane. There’s a tremendous difference bwtween that and real reporters trying to ask real questions and being booted from Obama One because of it.
If you could point me to the “outrageous hit pieces” by these guys that would be great.

Thanks for the warning.
How about “Bitter Biyatches”?
Think so, yes I do, I really, really do/vegan Greenpeacers and Obaninites of every stripe, oh yes. But I drift.
Can ANYONE tell us when a major candidate expelled reporters for political purposes? Did President Bush, Bush or Reagan keep Wrong Party reporters from their campaign? Think not. Someone is being less than honest here.
vegan Greenpeacers, Obaninites and BBQ?

Dear Dallas Morning News. Quit sucking up to John Wiley Price and all of his crew. Even for all of your pandering, you now realize you are the outside and are just getting what you deserved for the past 25+ years.

So what is that saying from WWII? (something like) they came for the jews, they came for the intellectuals, they came for the homosexuals, they came for the christians and then they came for me…. but there was no one left to save me.
Just remember the historical fact: all of the kool-aid drinkers died. They willingly drank it and were led so far out in the jungle, that no one came to save them even if they wanted to.
I forgot to quote back…

Actually Rabbid, I was just quoting Chap, give him the credit.
I’ve been telling friends for weeks now that we’ll see the birth of “Radio Free America”. The Iron Curtain wasn’t soundproof and neither will the obama curtain.
This is the impulse associated with having the upper hand, as Obama does on his airplane, and as he seeks to have over us starting next January. He won’t have the upper hand over the bad guys (Hugo and Lil’ Mahmoud) when they sit down with him and take away his juice box. Then we’ll all be like Barry’s grandma: under the bus!
chapoutier #76:
If you could actually think for yourself it would be even better. All your response says to me is that you don’t think hit pieces are actually hit pieces because you agree with them.
Obama is simply a tool!
Thanks for not making your argument. You are asserting I agree with something that I do not even know exists because you haven’t shown me them. I mean something so outrageous and so hit piece-y should be easy to dig up and link to. Then I can decide whether they are outrageous hit pieces.
When I read the words make him glow only one thought came to mind.
Roman candles, a two-cheeked orifice and a match.
you libs try to use the chapoutier moral equivalence argument so much that we would think that you’d be good at it.
This is just a small preview of life IF Obama wins, he has openly stated that he believes that the constitution is deeply flawed. Therefore we can expect the I,II, IV, V, VII, and X amendments to be infringed, if not taken away.
You think of rush week?
The message is clear, don’t question the dear leader.
