Conyers calls for investigation into Aunti Zeituni info leak; Joe the Plumber still on his own
I predicted the totally predictable last night. And so it has come to pass: The left-wing fairweather friends of privacy are all over the leak of Aunti Zeituni’s immigration info — while Joe The Plumber remains persona non grata. Democrat Rep. John Conyers has already called for a federal investigation. The WaPo is already up with an A-section story on the anonymous leak. And the liberal blogs are up in arms.
The MSM abhor anonymous leaks — unless they’re helping to undermine Bush administration anti-terrorism programs or conservative causes and candidates.
Laughably, the Obama cultists suspect that Bush administration officials are in cahoots with the McCain campaign and the Associated Press.
These people have reading comprehension and reality comprehension problems. It’s the Bush administration that has moved to protect Aunti Zeituni. It’s the pro-shamnesty Bush administration that will ensure that nothing happens to her. Pro-shamnesty McCain isn’t going to touch the story. McCain adviser Mark Salter told WaPo that it’s a “family matter.”
Another predictable prediction: McCain will issue an edict forbidding staff from talking about this the same way the staffers are forbidden from mentioning Jeremiah Wright — with disastrous results.
Never mind that the massive, systemic problem of deportation fugitives is a matter of national security and rule of law.

By the way: Where in the world is Aunti Zeituni? Who knows? And if it wasn’t Barack Obama who helped her get here, who did? How did she get a Social Security card? Who advised her to apply for public housing? Who did she know with a saavy enough legal background to help her navigate the paperwork of the welfare state?

Obama and his future wife, Michelle, met Onyango on a subsequent visit to Kenya in 1992, and she visited the Obama family in Chicago on a tourist visa about nine years ago, his campaign said. Onyango attended Obama’s U.S. Senate swearing-in ceremony in 2005, and the senator last heard from her about two years ago, according to the campaign.
A campaign source said Obama provided Onyango no assistance in obtaining a tourist visa or housing, or in her immigration case.
In an interview with the Times of London, which first reported Onyango’s presence in Boston and her campaign contributions, Onyango said she had traveled to and from the United States since 1975. Commercial databases indicate she received a Social Security card in 2001, indicating she was legally present and authorized to work at that time.
Onyango was not at her state-subsidized West Broadway residence yesterday in South Boston, and no one answered her telephone.
William McGonigle, deputy director of the Boston Housing Authority, said Onyango applied for public housing in 2002 and was approved in 2003 as an eligible noncitizen. She was paid a small stipend for volunteering as a resident health advocate starting in December 2007, he said.

Hey Frank Rich, Joe Klein, Mo Dowd, etc., what’s wrong with this picture?
And you guys at the NYT call yourselves the “newspaper of record” – HA! If that’s true, then why did it take the Times of London to report a story that took place on your own shores, and in your own back yard of Massachusetts?
With your open advocacy for Obama, you guys in the print media have outed yourselves as the biased lapdogs of the Democrat Party that conservatives always said you were, reducing yourselves to little more than mere sycophants of the Left. Do you feel no shame for the fact that Americans have to turn to the foreign print media to learn anything truthful about their own presidential election?
Of course you don’t!
As long as it means your guy Obama wins, you’ll continue to with-hold information on Obama, like the LAT; obfuscate economic realities and distort the candidates’ positions, like the NYT’s Paul Krugman, who supports Obama’s ridiculous economic plan; and conduct unfair smear investigations into the family members of VP Palin and President McCain, like the Chi Trib, NYT, McClatchey, etc.
Like Hannity said, OBJECTIVE MSM journalism in this country no longer exists.
But as long as there’s the I-net, and sites like this, the truth will be out there – whether the American MSM acknowledges it or not! I mean, if Obama’s aunt living here and donating to his campaign illegally isn’t news that’s fit to print, then what is – Cindy McCain’s weight?
Obama has succeeded in branding any criticism of him as racist and beyound the pail of discussion. Now when it turns out that Barack and Michelle Obama lived in splendor in Hyde Park while Barack’s aunt lived in dire poverty in Boston, we know how much Barack and Michelle actually care about struggling African immigrants in the US.
BTW, Obama showed a trace of selfloathing at Rick Warren’s church in August. Asked what Supreme Court justice he didn’t like, Obama immediately singled out Clarence Thomas. Justice Thomas’s votes are essentially the same as Roberts, Alito,Scalia.But Obama did not mention any of these white justices. Instead, he said that Clarence Thomas was unqualified and not very learned or bright. Deep within the Obama outer shell, that remark showed a streak of selfloathing. Obama would only single out the African-American justice for being unqualified. That says more about Obama than anything else.

Right – and that’s just plain cowardice on his part! He’ll say and do almost anything to get elected, and label it racism if he’s questioned or called on it.
Let’s face it, the dems have so many skeletons in their closets that they know better than to investigate other dems. The dems don’t realise that the rest of us don’t lead scummy lives, so we have less dirt to find. If we knew the truth about all the dems, there would not be any in office!
So Director Helen Jones-Kelley of Ohio says that they check anyone who is suddenly thrust into the news (and you can bet that id Joe the Plumber was delinquent on anything, cops would be at the door).
So why can’t we hold the same line on Autie Zeituni? Where’s the law enforcement of a KNOWN fugitive illegal immigrant? Obama says if she broke the law she’s gotta go…so, what’s the holdup?

When Nixon was POTUS, Agnew was his VP. Agnew was removed from office and Nixon appointed Gerald Ford. Nixon resigned after the watergate investigation making Gerald Ford the only POTUS never to have been elected by the people. Ford then appointed Nelson Rockefeller as his VP.
So we have been there and done that already.
It is obvious that Obama assisted her and his uncle in getting a visa. There is no way that without political pressure the two were inelligible for a visa. Dirt poor Kenyans don’t get visas because the U.S. Embassy in Nairobi knows that poor people do not return to their home countries. They stay illegally. Only political pressure would have caused a visa to be issued. Then of course is how she got into public housing and a job in the Boston Housing Authority. While most public housing authorities rent to illegals, the illegals must have a US citizen or legal permanent resident in the household who is the “front” so the illegal can qualify. Technically, she would not be eligible under Department of Housing and Urban Development rules that prohibit illegals and she has no one in her household who is illegal. And who gave her a government job at the Housing Authority. Even more likely that Obama used political pressure to get her the apartment and the job. Obamessiah may have even provided the counterfeit documents so Auntie could get the job.
Yeah – Bobby Jindal. I’ve already let the McCain cabinet and the Supreme court know of my decision. If something happens and Jindal is NOT immediately placed in the position of Vice President within 48 hours of Sarah assuming the presidency it will be a direct violation of the US Constitution*

I am 58 year old Canadian who has been watching the US election with a strange sense on Deja Vu. In 1968 I was 18 years old, young and impressionable. I supported Pierre Trudeau in that June election and have regretted it ever since. He was a demonstrable disaster for Canada in every respect. His Machiavelli impersonation, his deceit and his hidden agenda for Canada left a weakened democracy and a house divided against inself. The lack of understanding of basic economics created the seeds of massive government deficits that we wrestle with to this day. His decision to move the country to the left by assocaition with the socialist party, the NDP, and the ecomomic war declared on the West through the National Energy Program are all legacies that make me wish I had the smarts in 1968 to see through the media fog of Trudeaumania.
Here’s the deal, I believe Obama is much worse than Trudeau. His associations with known domestic terrorists and learnings from avowed marxists leave me shaking my head. The complete collapse of the media in terms of due diligence turns my stomach. The fact that the US is the world’s only superpower and the office of president will be occupied by this empty suit is sad and scary. If you are a young American and you are reading this post please do not vote with your heart like I did in 1968. Use your head and send this pretender back to Chicago.

It wouldn’t make any difference. the MSM wouldn’t report it, or if they did, they would make it sound like negative campaigning and desperation tactics. Now, if the MSM had been doing their investigative work in accordance with actual ethical standards, all the dirt on Obama would have been turned up long ago…in fact before he got nominated as the candidate. The sad fact is, the media wanted Obama as the candidate and they want him as the president. Any investigation and subsequent discoveries about him would get in the way, and they weren’t about to let that happen. I guess they all slept through the class titled “Journalism Ethics”. I hope they all get a taste of Obama’s wrath at one time or another and come to regret their complicancy.

Combat18, your theory about why the State Department gave her a visa is good, except you misunderstand State’s job:
At it’s very base, the Department of State exists to use diplomacy to avert war. when the State Department fails, the DOD cleans up the mess. This theory extends down DOS’ chain so far that new Foreign Service Officers are trained not to upset foreigners. It is drilled in to their heads that any conflict is bad for a career.
Most new FSO’s are assigned to the Visa section.
So.. I can promise you that the denial rate for Visas anywhere in the world is waaaaay lower than it should be. The new guy doesn’t want to rock the boat by denying a visa when it might affect his career..
Barack’s Auntie probably did have a push – but it probably didn’t take much of a push. Pre – 9/11, DOS was even more inclined to dish out the visas than they are today.
All of the welfare benefits she has received probably have taken little or no effort to get. Most bureaucracies require that the customer base increases in order to keep viability. The fine folks at the welfare office probably hunted her down and shoved money in her hand.
The disparity between this issue and the insane, violent hatred of Republican pluspoints such as JTP and Governor Palin is absolute proof of the Dem’s (this includes, of course, the MSM) hypocracy. However, no MSM media outlet has the stones to highlight it.
My question to the RNC: Where are you on this? I want to see talking head pundits screaming at the top of their lungs!!

My advice to the RNC: If you want to win, you have to fight.
