   I thought you had to be a citizen to qualify for gov. housing.

   WHO IS ELIGIBLE?
   Public housing is limited to low-income families and individuals. An HA determines your eligibility based on: 1) annual gross income; 2) whether you qualify as elderly, a person with a disability, or as a family; and 3) U.S. citizenship or eligible immigration status.

    She apparently didn’t need all that “small stipend.”

    Of course Obama can admit to knowing anything about this…it would make him culpable. But, you know, this is no big deal…it’s simply a “family matter.”

    To qualify for federally funded public housing, tenants must prove that at least one household member is a citizen or an “eligible noncitizen.” Eligible noncitizens include immigrants with a resident alien card, temporary resident card, employment authorization card or proof of refugee or asylee status, according to the BHA’s Admissions and Continued Occupancy Policies.

    Unlike the case with federal public housing, tenants moving into state-funded housing in Massachusetts do not have to prove their citizenship or immigration status. According to the state Department of Housing and Community Development, “As a result of a consent decree in federal court in 1977, the state cannot deny state-subsidized public housing to undocumented immigrants.”

    The U.S. Department of Homeland Security screens all noncitizen applicants for eligibility, the BHA said. McGonagle said he did not know which immigration class Onyango fell into when she was approved in 2003.

    “When she applied and throughout the screening process, we applied all of the neccesary rules and followed all the necessary rules and she was determined eligible,” McGonagle said

    I believe that the Massachusetts Department of Motor Vehicles has the ability to check on the status and to suspend the licenses of those caught drinking and driving after they are initially deemed to be eligible.

    This is correct, but my bet is that she needed help in getting here in the first place! A tourist visa issued to a person from a developing or poor nation is rare. The person requesting the visa must prove to the satisfaction of the adjudicating officer that they have:

    1. Ties which would compel them to return home. Ties like real estate, a good business, husband and kids, money in the bank.

    2. The means to make the trip to the US of their own accord, and live like a tourist while in this country. This means that a second party cannot just bank role the intending tourist: the tourist must show receipts proving that they can make the trip on their own, rent a car, go to Disney world, stay in a hotel, and return home.

    This stinks to high heaven.

    I want to know when exactly did she arrive in the US and who was the adjudicating officer at the US embassy in Kenya. My bet is that she came here to see her nephew elected to office with plans to overstay her visa. Premeditated immigration fraud.
