Well now.
Turns out Aunti Zeituni Onyango, one of Democrat presidential candidate Barack Obama’s many relatives made famous in his memoir, is an illegal alien. And not just a run-of-the-mill illegal alien on welfare.
She’s one of the hundreds of thousands of deportation fugitives — absconders – whom I’ve been reporting on for the past six years. After 9/11, the government vowed to crack down on absconders. They’ve failed abysmally.
Barack Obama’s aunt, a Kenyan woman who has been quietly living in public housing in Boston, is in the United States illegally after an immigration judge rejected her request for asylum four years ago, The Associated Press has learned.
Zeituni Onyango, 56, referred to as “Aunti Zeituni” in Obama’s memoir, was instructed to leave the United States by a U.S. immigration judge who denied her asylum request, a person familiar with the matter told the AP late Friday. This person spoke on condition of anonymity because no one was authorized to discuss Onyango’s case.
Information about the deportation case was disclosed and confirmed by two separate sources, one of them a federal law enforcment official. The information they made available is known to officials in the federal government, but the AP could not establish whether anyone at a political level in the Bush administration or in the McCain campaign had been involved in its release.
Just you watch: After sitting silent as Joe The Plumber’s records were rummaged by Ohio government employees, the fairweather privacy rights crowd will wake up and start making noise over this.
QUESTION: Will the Obama campaign return the many donations from this illegal alien?
ANSWER: Not bloody likely.
Federal Election Commission records show that Onyango donated at least five times to her nephew’s campaign in July and September. Three of the donations were for $5 each, and two of the donations were for $25. Records compiled by The Huffington Post show she gave a total of $260 to the campaign.
The law:
It shall be unlawful for a foreign national directly or through any other person to make any contribution of money or other thing of value, or to promise expressly or impliedly to make any such contribution, in connection with an election to any political office; or in connection with any primary election, convention, or caucus held to select candidates for any political office; or for any person to solicit, accept, or receive any such contribution from a foreign national.
2 U.S.C. § 441e.

Exactly.
Meanwhile, the AP tries to downplay Aunti’s deportation evasion and defiance of a judicial ruling:
Onyango’s refusal to leave the country would represent an administrative, non-criminal violation of U.S. immigration law, meaning such cases are handled outside the criminal court system.
As I’ve pointed out countless times since 9/11, systemic immigration loopholes and deportation failures that have benefited peaceful illegal aliens have also benefited illegal aliens with nefarious intent.
Reminder from 2004:
…the system for screening out the well-meaning from the menaces is completely overwhelmed. Claims of “credible fear of persecution” are almost impossible to document, but are rarely rejected. Federal homeland security officials are unable to detain asylum seekers for background checks without the civil liberties brigade screaming “racial profiling.” And there is still a woeful shortage of detention space— just 2,000 beds nationwide— to hold those with suspect claims.
As a result, thousands of refugees and asylum seekers who have made flimsy claims of persecution are let loose. As the Department of Justice’s Inspector General reported, 97 percent of all asylum-seekers from any country who were released from immigration custody were never found again and deported.
…Ramzi Yousef landed at New York City’s JFK airport from Pakistan and flashed an Iraqi passport without a visa to inspectors. He was briefly detained for illegal entry and fingerprinted, but was allowed to remain in the country after invoking the magic words “political asylum.” The then-INS released him because it didn’t have enough space in its detention facility. Yousef headed to Jersey City to plot the 1993 World Trade Center bombing.
Gazi Ibrahim Abu Mezer, a Palestinian bomb-builder, entered the U.S. illegally through Canada in 1996 and 1997. He claimed political asylum based on alleged persecution by Israelis, was released on a reduced $5,000 bond posted by a man who was himself an illegal alien, and then skipped his asylum hearing after calling his attorney and lying about his whereabouts. In June 1997, after his lawyer withdrew Mezer’s asylum claim, a federal immigration judge ordered Mezer to leave the country on a “voluntary departure order.” Mezer ignored the useless piece of paper. He joined a New York City bombing plot before being arrested in July 1997 after a roommate tipped off local police.
Mir Aimal Kansi, convicted in 1997 of capital murder and nine other charges stemming from his January 1993 shooting spree outside the CIA headquarters in McLean, Virginia, also exploited our insane asylum laxity. Despite his history as a known Pakistani militant who had participated in anti-American demonstrations abroad, Kansi received a business visa in 1991. After arrival, he claimed political asylum based on his ethnic minority status in Pakistan. While his asylum application was pending, he obtained a driver’s license and an AK-47, murdered two CIA agents, and wounded seven others.
And we’re still not serious about tightening up the system and enforcing the law.
Lucky for Aunti, the open-borders Bush administration has just issued a special pre-election directive to slow down any deportation efforts that might get her kicked out of the country:
Onyango’s case — coming to light just days before the presidential election — led to an unusual nationwide directive within Immigrations and Customs Enforcement requiring any deportations prior to Tuesday’s election to be approved at least at the level of ICE regional directors, the U.S. law enforcement official told the AP.
The unusual directive suggests that the Bush administration is sensitive to the political implications of Onyango’s case coming to light so close to the election.
Lucky for Aunti, both presidential candidates support shamnesty in one form or another.
Lucky for Aunti, the deportation abyss has not been repaired.
Lucky for Aunti, the congressional practice of creating “special relief” bills to help individual deportation fugitives escape punishment and get rewarded with citizenship is alive and well.
And lucky for Aunti, anyone who thinks she should face the music and get the boot is considered a “hater” and a “xenophobe” and a RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACIST.
Lucky for Aunti, she can always take up shelter in a sanctuary-offering, rule-of-law defying church.
And guess where a left-wing church has openly broken the law and taken in illegal aliens?

In my family my grandparents and my inlaws are hard-core Democrats. Their the old dems that can’t seem to admit or face the music of what the party has turned into currently. They have never voted for a Republican in their lives.

…But apparently his campaign did. Who told dear Auntie not to talk to anybody until after the election was over? Likewise, I read that his Kenyan family was also told to stop talking to people to avoid “derailing” his candidacy.
Either he really doesn’t care about his Kenyan kin, or he is practicing plausible deniability, as advised by Burton or Axelrod. He does, as reported previously, have a habit of using liason’s to keep in touch with his un-savory relationships. Regardless, this shows the man’s character in spades (not racially speaking folks!)

I called my cable company and spoke with them about dropping that channel from my package.
They said that at this time they could not just drop individual channels from my package, but that they were always looking for ways to meet customers needs. BS of course.
But I plan on calling often to see if they are any closer to allowing us consumers to choose the stations we want inside our basis and extended basic packages.
I do not pay for any premium channels. Don’t want em.
I encourage everyone to begin calling for your cable companies to drop MSLSD at a minimum.
Others can be added, or rather dropped, from the list at your own choosing. I just want to start with MSNBC being removed from my tv.
The thought of my money, any small piece of it, being used to support MSNBC is sickening to me.

Joy, we have a TV in our house, but it is tuned mostly to the educational channels and sports (Nascar, bowling and Redskins, etc.). It is extremely rare to have any of the commerical stations like CBS, ABC, NBC on. Science, history, Military, Nat’l geographic channels are the most popular here. Yes, commericals are aplenty, but it’s good to watch something and learn, rather than stare mindlessly at some stupid comedy or celebrity show. MSNBC? We couldn’t even tell you what channel number that is. If nothing is on, we have an extensive movie/history library of DVDs here to hit. I haven’t watched a “news” show all year, except if I can catch Michelle on FOX. WisCon, don’t forget the democrats too. Both sides shoved the issue under the rug. Democrats, especially, want amnesty. They know, as it has always been, that new immigrant voters go with the democrats. Does anyone remember Tammandy Hall?
Family Man – As most know here, I don’t believe McCain will nominate constructionist judges because in his heart he knows they will overturn his precious McCain/Feingold, and will Dem majorities, there will be no way to get them in. He and his awful ‘gang of 14′ saw to that.
In all honesty the only thing that might tip my hand to McCain is Palin. What I hate is the thought that I would vote for the ticket with the deep down hope McCain croaks, naturally of course, quietly in his sleep… and then I wonder how I can vote my conscience with that wish lingering in my thoughts.
I am one of those who truly believes that we are totally done in at this point. Next up is a revolutionary war, and I’m good with that. There is no more compromise with the evil pervading the Ds or the Rs.

No country can sustain itself with as much corruption as we now have in both parties.

TIP for everyone: If you haven’t seen Expelled: No Intelligence Allowed I highly recommend it. A story she was talking about brings up an interesting thing we already knew. More Dems are voting early than Repubs. Democratic precincts are ordering more voting machines to keep lines down. Good. I don’t want to hear anything about disenfranchised voters when this is done. But the difference between D’s & R’s voting early also tells me that their minds are made up and that they don’t care what anyone else has to say anymore.
I prefer to wait until all the known facts have been determined and judge accordingly when the time comes. If McCain screws up royally in the next three days, believe me, I’d want to know. A consequence of my inquiring mind, I suppose. Have a good weekend, folks.

Family Man – re: your question on what kind of self defense weapon should your wife use that can also be used for deer hunting. Depending on where you live, you may have to use a shotgun for deer. I know in So. Michigan you do, here in Oklahoma you can use a rifle. That’s probably not much help but I have used a semi-automatic, featherweight shotgun and I’m 4’11″ and it was quite comfortable for me. I’m not very knowledgeable about brand, etc. but maybe that will point you in the right direction.

It would do an excellent job of stopping any obama lover that comes into your home uninvited but after going through the scum it will also go through your neighbors house and possible harm an innocent bystander. A shotgun is a good choice because trap loads have little recoil and your little lady could handle them quite easily. The only drawback is it will leave a heck of a mess to clean up but gaurenteed to stop any bho voter trying to help themselves to what little you have left after your weath has been distrubuted.

MrOlympia – I have never had a racist bone in my body. I can remember even as a young girl telling my Father and Grandmother not to use ‘those words’ around me. Ya know Joy, I give my life to our Savior in 1996 (I haven’t had a drink since by the way) and since then I stopped using racial slurs myself but since this mess with bo I find myself wanting to use the “N” word whenever the subject of bo comes up. I know there is a huge differance between good decent black people and the others but it’s crazy how much power bo has to make me want to use the “N” word again. I’m ashamed but I’m human too. It’s like when I’m accused of being racist I want to behave like one too because I’ll get blamed for it anyway. Wow, I’m really blowing off steam today.
So everyone who has money supports everyone else in their family. That’s just nonsense. Obama’s Campaign should have vetted all family members before engaging in such a campaign as for President of the United States, and the closeness with concerns to family, shows a real issue, which only empowers the Right on the Controversy of his truthfulness.

In searching the web, I have found MANY blogs of disaffected Hillary supporters. There are many, many Democrats who are conservative/moderate Democrats. They HATE what the Democratic Party and BO are doing in this election.

RE: The US Supreme court.
What some of you may not realize is that McCain can in fact appoint constructionist Judges and yes Supreme Court Judges, but it will require pressure from us to make that happen to amke it politically viable. I refer specifically to what is in our constitution already…the recess appointment
Case in Point: The first black member of the Supreme court was Thurgood Marshall..President Dwight Eisenhower had to get him in by using his executive constitutional authority via the recess appointment. The problem of course was that after 2 or so years, Congress would still have to approve the decision made by the President. It did (even though segregationist democrats from the South bitterly opposed his nomination).
The same thing can be done by McCain/Palin with respect to constructionist judges….but it means we will have get one way or another a conservative Senate..I, for one, am willing to take that chance by voting McCain/Palin (or should I say Palin/McCain)
Americans have become fat and lazy. They haven’t really had to struggle for anything in their lives. I see pictures of these huge black women complaining that they are not getting enough welfare… yet they are sooooo fat, and have a big screen TV in their government housing living room. The article said the mother of these three monsters hadn’t worked in 25 years, and the 30 something daughters had NEVER had a job.
Liberals have come to expect gain without work. Obama promises MORE gain without effort by taking the money from those who DO work.
The country will continue to get weaker and weaker as the soft liberals vote to help the “poor and unfortunate” non-workers.
In time, the weak will so outway the strong, that the USA will collapse and something new will arise.
It is just evolution. I was watching a TV show today that was showing how Death Valley in California was a lush greenland 10,000 years ago with no people in sight, and I thought, in 10,000 years there will probably be no people left, and something new will be going on.
Obama is just a step on the path of evolution…

SoCal, you are so right about the size of these welfare recipiants. My finacee and I voluntered to serve at the “City Mission Book Bag Give Away” in Omaha before school started. Without exagerating 95% were black and of those 90% were huge. It’s sad because the children were huge too. My finacee is from India, she has had a kidney transplant and born with physical abnormalities. She is fully qualified to get Social Security Disability but she chooses to work and weighs 100 pounds soaking wet. She is a proud citizen of USA and wants to work as long as she can. She nudged me and said “look! that womans butt is hanging over both sides of her chair” and I said “and us taxpayers paid for that butt too”.
But how in the world can she get public housing if she isn’t even supposed to be here? This stinks to high heaven! Now we’re housing illegals too?
I live in a town in Northern Calif that has a lot of welfare people, but mostly white, and the vast majority of them are obese. I can’t imagine how they afford their food bills! Even on welfare.
And yes, I understand some people have medical conditions, but not practically a whole town.
I heard today on a news show, that it is expected that Obama will move toward the idea that countrys that have more will give to the countrys that have less… just like he is planning to do here with our wealth, even out wealth out world wide starting with the example of the “caring” United States. His Kenyan family will be getting USA wealth in the future I guess.
It is expensive to eat healthy. People who live on a fixed income, wether welfare or not usually have a high carb high fat diet.

SoCal…I agree but beer is also high carb high calorie. It is a fact that low income groups do not eat healthy. They tend to stretch their food dollars with high carb foods and unhealthy choices. Not mention the fact that habitual welfare recipients are lazy and do not execise.
nlebou – That’s ridiculous… I eat healthy and my food budget is around 150 a month… give me a break. I eat lots of salads, wheat bread, brown rice. An eating plan that is healthy and keeps you thin.
I’ve seen what obese people eat… pizzas, donuts, cake, cookies, ice cream, potato chips, snacks galore… all those things cost a lot.
Always an excuse. Spare me. If you earn your own living, then fine.. but not on the taxpayers expense!

I eat the same things you just mentioned and they ARE more expensive than say mac and cheese, white bread which is much cheaper than whole wheat. Canned foods are high in sodium but much cheaper than fresh foods. I never said anyone was entitled to some one elses money. I firmly beleive in working for a living. I have all my life.

Eating healthy does not need to be expensive. I am living proof of that.

And again, go into their homes and look in their cupboards and waste cans and you’ll see expensive pizzas, expensive snacks, expensive potato chips, expensive cakes, expensive ice cream, etc.
And again, my food budget is 150 per month and it’s almost all healthy. I do allow for treats now and then. They could make better choices, they simply choose not to. You buy bulk, and shop at Farmer’s Markets. Look for sales… careful shopping.
Marching and carrying signs for bo and shouting disgusting things about McCain/Palin is the most exercise some of these people have had in years.
I don’t know why you think I am making excuses. I do not believe in welfare. Never have. But I can tell you I have been in the low income bracket and it IS more expensive to eat healthy. I am fortunate now and I can afford to eat a more healthy diet. There is a lot of data out there to support what I am telling you. I used to have to feed a family of 5 on $50/wk andI know from experience that eating healthy is more expensive.
