Well, it was a good try, but I guess it is not only liberals that want attention…
That news on Obama’s views on coal is going to be critical in PA and Ohio!
Also, I did some checking – this is from a relatively radical environmental site, so there is not much reason to discount the figures.
Coal generates roughly 54% of the power consumed in the US through over 600 separate plants. http://www.ucsusa.org/clean_energy/coalvswind/c01.html
If Obama puts them out of business, just where will we get our power from? It takes roughly 10 to 20 years to build a nuclear plant, and the cost is enormous. That timeline and expense does not factor in delays caused by environmental protest and litigation.
How do we replace over half of our current power needs? The only viable solution in the intermediate term is oil. Of course, the plants currently burning coal would have to be retrofitted at a hefty expense, but why would we do that?
We very recently got a lesson in our reliance on foreign sources of oil. We can be held hostage. Now, Obama opposed drilling domestically and offshore (says now he “may” do it), so he is pretty much wed to continued reliance on foreign sources. Not only that, he wants to INCREASE our reliance on foreign oil by requiring us to replace coal with oil. Insane.
Insane, unless there are other motives at work here. IF the US became energy independent, that would be close to $1 trillion a year that stayed within the US economy. Particularly hard hit would be the Marxist regimes ofHugo Chavez and the Muslim/Arab world whose economies are overly dependent on oil exports.
By killing coal and killing domestic oil production, Obama would be actually increasing our dependence on foreign oil and increasing the economic clout of foreign oil producers, most of whom have no qualms about using oil as an economic weapon against the US.
This is beyond naieve. It is downright dangerous. It would be national suicide to follow Obama’s path. The US would die a slow death, bled dry by other countries using their leverage in the oil markets to destroy us economically.
And Bill Ayers, Bernardine Dohrn, and Obama’s other marxist mentors would smile, knowing that their goal of destroying the US is within reach.

The question stands. In the entire 222 year history of this nation we have not needed a National Security Force of any kind. Obama in January in Iowa said he would have a 250,000 man security force as powerful, as well equipped and as well funded as our military. I didn’t dream this up. Want to see the clip?
That is a comabt force equal to 30, 5000 man infantry brigades. What threat inside the US is that force needed for? It’s not for border security. There is no need to station a force with that much combat power on a border unless there is a threat of a military invasion.
Why would such a combat capable CIVILIAN force have. Remember miltary forces by Law cannot arrest citizens, but a CIVIIAN force could. So what is their mission?

At some level, all the liberals who are worshiping at Obama’s altar are doing this. They refuse to see the dark side of the policies and rely on the hope of a better America. The problem is, hope is not a plan. All this hope isn’t going to advance the lives of Americans one inch! A thoughtful and detailed roadmap to a more secure and prosperous America is what we need. What Obama is giving his supporters is hope of outcomes with no hope of the means to get there.

Obama’s 250,000 Civilian Police Force has been tried before.
In Germany, they were called the EINSATZGRUPPEN.
In the SOviet Union, it was called the NKVD.
What it all amounts to, is the beginning of a police state. He is suggesting that the Police Forces of this country, arguably the best in the world, are inadequate to acheive his goals, or, “to acheive what we are trying to do”.
He claims that they, along with our own military is not enough, thus he wishes to form a completely different organization in order to police the populace of this country. That is the beginnings of a Police State in any book. It is the beginnings of asking people to turn on their neighbors, to report them for whatever crimes they deem necessary.
The parallels that coincide with everything the Obama Campaign has s=done or is stating they wish to do is STAGGERING on a historical level. And the willingness of the people of this country to go along with it, cheering him and lauding praises on him all the terrifying.
And these are the same people who decried the things that Bush was doing, or at least what they claimed he was doing, following the attack on our country on 9-11-01.
What is going to happen in two days? Are people going to be standing around, talking in hushed tones about how something like this could have happened?
Or will they be asking questions out loud about how they could have allowed something like that to have become so close to happening.

I cannot fathom how anyone with a brain could even contemplate electing Obama to the White House. Over these past months, we, on the blogosphere have been presented ample evidence that Obama has a very radical vision of what America should represent. Most of these clues have been in his own words, I repeat, his own words.
Other clues have been who he has chosen as friends, associates and working partners. I have yet to hear of any associate who you could possibly call main-stream.
Obama has lied and obfuscated[yes, I know, most politicians do], but he has turned it into an art form. He has shown that he has one face for the ‘proletariat’ and one face for his elitist friends.
He has no legislative accomplishments, and the only time he has actually had any executive experience, it was deemed a dismal failure. In fact over 100 million dollars was spread throughout his and Bill Ayers leftist causes, instead of directly to improve education. Do we really want this man and his willing accomplices in Congress, in charge of where our money is spent? Can we really trust him and Nancy et al, to make the right decisions? I think not.

I never underestimate the evils and horrors that groupthink can cause. One person, who previously was too lazy or inept to do anything (but blamed everyone else for this problem), when combined in a group that is driven by the irrational idealism that it is someone else’s fault, can and will commit murder and genocide for their beliefs to eliminate their perceived problem, and never believe they have done anything wrong.
History is full of examples.
That said, I have used a technique that has actually stopped a few rabid Obamaites. I simply pull the few dollars I have in my pocket, and say:
“This is MY MONEY. I’ve earned it, through hard work and sacrifice. I am willing to die to keep it. Are you willing to die for your candidate and his future government to try to take this from me?”
That usually does the trick.
Interesting though from Hot Air, Conservatives are not the only ones talking about Civil War…

SoCal – I just keep wondering what weapons the left thinks they are going to fight with? After all, we’re the ones clinging to our guns. I guess they’ll turn to the thugs who have that thug thizzle goin’ on and their weapons of gang warfare, that are usually used on each other.
Notice that she thinks if it’s Obamites inciting to riot, that it is BUSH/CHENEY who will “lead against” America’s citizens…
And of course I can’t escape that with all the ACORN voter fraud rampant she thinks Republicans have the voting machines rigged.

For me, it isn’t about McCain or Obama winning/losing. It is about my personal freedom. As the Bible teaches, I am supposed to be a good citizen. Well, if you look at our country’s founding documents, it says that government should take a long walk on a short pier if they overstep their bounds.
I’ll have no problem with a President Obama as long as he abides by the Constitution.

I’m sure the IRS doesnt really flinch much when you say that. Taxes are investment for your country’s future, and your children’s future, though, so I’m glad they don’t!

Two Obama supporters have been working my neighborhood, after a 20 minute tete a tete with them when they saw me working in my garage, I told them they were blind lemmings and dropped this topic on them, they didn’t believe me and hadn’t heard about it. They tried to continue arguing with me and I asked them to leave. The one guy( no gent he) said so you don’t like discussions.. i said I like them fine, but you’re boring me so leave or…. and I pointed to my 48 ounce softball bat. Point is, I followed them to every house they went to, then told my neighbors the news I had learned about Obama’s coal plans… talk about pissed off people… Spread the word, folks…..spread the word.
I’m here in the middle of western Pa coal country.
Don’t be so sure the rank and file UMW will vote their leaders’ wishes.

Again when asked substative question you duck and we get this post containing opinion and no attempt to address my question and the follow-on comments.
You response was a childish condescending rant, which is the equivalent of NA NA …NA ….NA NA.
When asked a serious question, your response can only be interpreted as being unable to defend Obama’s proposal. Worse, you have either chosen to not read Obama’s proposal for fear of what it may contain or you are in denial.
People like Obama can only succeed when people like you refuse to dispationately read and understand just what it is he is proposing.
The difference between us is simple and stark. I place my secular faith in the contents of Constitution, a philosophy. You choose to place your faith in a man you have no desire to truly understand. That document has withstood everything thown at it. Obama cannot even withstand a plumber from Ohio.
With that, I will take heed to BrooklynRed’s comments.
