E-mail from a first-time voter

The fleecing of America

Reader M.S. from Seattle e-mailed me her thoughts on the election. She’s a naturalized American and first-time voter:

Dear Michelle,

I came to this country in 1959 from Sweden when I was 14 years old. I married at 19 and my husband and I have raised 4 daughters. The youngest one now 26. I finally got up the courage to take the citizens test 3 years ago, and to my amazement it was the easiest test I could imagine, way too easy. This is the first presidential election I will get to vote in. I came from a socialist country, albeit raised into the light. It is a far cry from the perfect image described so often! Their health care system should be the first to be examined as it would discourage most intelligent voters. I live in Seattle, Washington, where the Canadian government sends some of their citizens for health care because they cannot provide for their own citizens. Where do you suppose this country is going to send its citizens? Mexico, Venezuela, Honduras? No, our citizens will be entered into a “most profitable to save” category. It exists in every socialized health care system in the world. This issue alone is enough to send a chill down my spine.

Add that to what is happening with the media around Obama and I’m wondering what country I live in! What will happen to you and others out there who promote the open truth if Obama wins? Time will tell and something tells me I’ve lived in the best of times in the USA already and the worst [will] be coming soon?

The best political cartoon, and perhaps the only good one I have seen so far is one of Obama leading a flock of sheep to the “Fleecing” factory and one sheep saying to another, “Well, it’s a change!”

One thing to keep in mind for the next presidential election…don’t let the media pick our candidate like they did this time. We have to make sure that the conservative candidate gets the nomination. The media will try to sabbotage that any way they can.

I used to think Newt was a genius until he signed on to Gorebull Warming. Still, I think Newt would be a good behind-the-scenes guy and would be outstanding in forming strategy, but I can’t figure out what has happened to him. Running American Solutions and its polls seems like all he wants to do. I feel like he has abandoned this country.

I love to see stories like this.

First the way legal immigrants love and appreciate what this country offers to them and their family. Regardless of how they may vote I welcome them.

Just as important; first hand accounts of people that have had to live with socialism are the most valuable warnings there are.

Jindal maybe. Newt is just too liberal, imho.

What needs to happen on Wednesday, regardless of which liberal scumbag comes out ahead, is a consolidation of conservative power into a new political party that espouses the common ground shared by conservatives of all stripes – that includes Libertarians, Constitutionites, conservatives Republicans, and those of other conservatives parties such as the American Independent Party and the Conservative Party.

The platform that will work is here.

Let’s get on it right away. It is foolish to believe that the Republican Party can continue to be a haven for conservatives. Given the opportunity of a lifetime to easily bury the socialist liberals in the Democratic Party, they put forth their most socialist liberal from their own ranks.

This is not the modus operandi (sp.) of a conservative party. On Wednesday, the work begins. We’ll be posting the news here in the very near future.

The ‘barkeep’ at our ‘hootch’ in Vietnam was sponsored to the US by those of us he served. He got his green card and just this last summer he became a US citizen with many of us in attendance.

He went to vote the other day with one of his ’sponsors’ taking him — note, we weren’t telling him how to vote, we merely got him there so he could vote.

Needless to say, he was VERY excited by this opportunity, but, unfortunately, he was not registered and didn’t get to vote. Apparently in the excitement of his ceremony to become a citizen, he didn’t fill out the right forms.

We are trying to fix the problem, but doubt if ACORN or the dems will give a rats@** and will likely fight him the whole way — this gentleman has seen the bad side of things and knows what is right with the US. At least we have ONE on our side who will certainly be around for future elections!
