The truth serum in San Francisco
This morning, I joked on Fox and Friends that San Francisco acts like a truth serum on Barack Obama. It’s where he trashed western Pennsylvanians as Bible-thumping racists clinging to their guns and religion. And it’s where he told the SF Chronicle that he plans to bankrupt coal companies and engineer huge energy price shocks to save the planet. (background links here and here)
Allah clipped the F&F video — watch here — and notes that Sarah Palin riffed on Obama’s San Francisco candor this morning:
“There must be something about San Francisco,” she said. “I heard on Fox News today, it’s like a truth serum where when he’s there, he seems to be more candid.”
It was at a San Francisco fundraiser earlier this year that Obama got into trouble, suggesting rural voters “cling to religion and guns” because jobs were being lost. Palin referred to them Monday as “bitter clingers” and “cling-ons.” (There goes the Star Trek vote?)
And it was Obama’s comments to the San Francisco Chronicle on fees for coal emissions that brought on Palin’s most recent attacks.
“So he’s talking to the San Francisco Chronicle, and he says that sure, if industry wants to try to build these coal-fired power plants, they can go ahead and try, but they’re only gonna be able to do it in a way that bankruptcies the whole industry, the coal industry,” she said. “Now he’s comfortable with this happening.”
Meantime, the Ohio Coal Association weighs in:
Mike Carey, president of the Ohio Coal Association (OCA), today issued the following statement in response to just-released remarks from Senator Barack Obama about the nation’s coal industry.
“Regardless of the timing or method of the release of these remarks, the message from the Democratic candidate for President could not be clearer: the Obama-Biden ticket spells disaster for America’s coal industry and the tens of thousands of Americans who work in it.
“These undisputed, audio-taped remarks, which include comments from Senator Obama like ‘I haven’t been some coal booster’ and ‘if they want to build [coal plants], they can, but it will bankrupt them’ are extraordinarily misguided.
“It’s evident that this campaign has been pandering in states like Ohio, Virginia, West Virginia, Indiana and Pennsylvania to attempt to generate votes from coal supporters, while keeping his true agenda hidden from the state’s voters.
“Senator Obama has revealed himself to be nothing more than a short- sighted, inexperienced politician willing to say anything to get a vote. But today, the nation’s coal industry and those who support it have a better understanding of his true mission, to ‘bankrupt’ our industry, put tens of thousands out of work and cause unprecedented increases in electricity prices.
“In addition to providing an affordable, reliable source of low-cost electricity, domestic coal holds the key to our nation’s long-term energy security - a goal that cannot be overlooked during this time of international instability and economic uncertainty.
Spread the word. It’s not too late.

If Obama wins and executes his insane plans he will wreck the economy. All the MSM spin in the world won’t help him at that point. People know when they are cold, hungry and have no cash. They know that gas, coal and oil are under their feet and when Obama’s plan’s fall apart (they will) he’s either going to change or remain an idealog and be shown the door.
Tip O’Neill was correct. All politics is local. If we lose, Priority II is unseating Obama. Priority one should be tounseat your local Democrats. When the DNC sees legislatures and governorships going up in flames…..
The campaign against Obama needs to begin on Jnauary 20, 2009, at 12:10 EST. It must be unrelenting, just like the attacks on Bush. A lot of truth about Obama is going to come out. We should pick the most effective parts and repeat those parts over and over for four years. Anything else is clutter and a distraction.
I also think some “realpolitik” is in order. Be it Palin, Jihndahl, Romney, whomever, we conservatives need to find the best possible candidate avialable, unite behind them and defeat any candidates put forward by the RINO’s.
We enforce the 11th Commandment from Renaldus Magnus. Powell, Noonan, Brooks, Barnes, Crystal can either join the team, be quiet, or leave. We do not need their “help” again. Same holds true for the RNC.
If McCain wins………NEVER MIND!
Flyover, if McCain wins (and I think he will), we will still have work to do. Granted, it will be easier with our democracy intact.
Watershed,
The “Diabolical Scheme” is called Communism. Mr. O didn’t invent it, but he sure is parroting it’s principals. Now, he is doing this in order to:
A. Pander for votes from those who have less money than others. or
B. He really wishes to implement a Soviet style wealth redistribution scheme.
To Liberals, this is acceptable because they honestly believe that those of us who have busted our butts and worked hard enough to live a comfortable life (but aren’t rich enough to parrot liberal causes - cause we still have some touch on reality) are truly evil and should not keep the money that we have earned.
As a conservative, I do not like this idea one bit. As an American, I am allowed to oppose it.
As a liberal, you can’t win a logical argument without calling your opponent a name. Call me one.. please.
Remember, between 1917 and 1989, the push to convert the world to Communism resulted in the MURDER of at least 50 Million people (this doesn’t count Communist fomented war such as Mozambique, Korea, Vietnam, Nicaragua, China, and so on.., just the activities of The Soviet Union, China, Cambodia, North Korea and every other place where Communist theory was used as a reason to “disappear” the State’s enemies.)
I do not wish to see this in America but it IS starting. Disagree with a conservative and you are a hero. Disagree with a liberal and you are demonized.
If liberals would realize that at least HALF of the currently +/- 300 Million people (yes, that includes illegals as the Dems make it easy for them to vote too..) DISAGREE with them, they may be a little more circumspect in the way they demonize potential voters..
I wonder where the United Mine Workers (UMW) now stand on this as it appears that obama wants to put a lot of union miners out of work.
Everything you wrote was true, but if McCain wins it is irelavent. If McCain wins it will be, because CONSERVATIVES dragged him over the line.
He’s going to get the bill for services renedered from our leader Sarah Palin and previous things like this from him go out the window!
Exactly. People who love America with experience in dealing with energy producers. Not a lightweight political neophyte and his dishonest sidekick.

With his own mouth, Obama has confessed the Islamic call to prayer, which claims that there is no god but Allah, with Mohammed as his prophet. Speaking those words convinces many Muslims that he is a Muslim.
At the same time, Obama has not confessed the three simple words, “Jesus is Lord”. If he were to confess those three simple words, I would believe he is a Christian. Since he hasn’t, I believe the evidence points to Barack Hussein Obama being a Muslim practicing Taqiyya.
This is not an “ugly smear”. It is an honest evaluation of the evidence, and a vitally important issue when considering this man for Preisdent of the United States and Commander-in-Chief of all of our Armed Services!
Is Barack Hussein Obama a Jihadist Muslim?
The Gamaliel foundation strategy which both Michelle and Barack have alluded to several times calls for stealth and deception in public and using “baby steps”
to breech their ideas, than fan the flames to gain momentum.
Obama has a history of doing just this and has field tested ideas such as Public Allies his seed for his domestic army.
The strategy will be to boil the frog slowly, but boiled (even the crocodile feeders here-LOL) we will be.
Denial that this is his plan is pure ignorance and other than getting off by disrupting blog threads his defenders live in ignorant bliss!

RedPill,
If Obama studied the Koran in Muslim schools and he converted to christianity, why isn’t he dead? Because he is still a muslim hiding behind the facade of christianity. Muslims are muslims until death.

True.
It’s as if McCain signed-up for a marathon….and then took a leisurely stroll.
Can you guys just imagine:
A person running for President of the United States, arguably the front runner, is on record as having declared the express decision to actually bankrupt an entire industry which is the largest provider of electricity and power for the entire world, not to mention all the other uses for said material that this industry produces from concrete to aspirin, and nothing is being done about it? In fact, his blindly forging ahead supporters are actually making excuses for, as well as supporting said plans?
In what other time would this have happened? To have on his agenda, nothing but the destruction of the very infrastructure of this nation, and yet people are salivating over his becoming President.
He has said over and over that he is going to change this country, but this is not change. This is the destruction of every single thing that has made this Nation what it is. From infrastructure to the economy and everything in between, he has promised to leave them all in tatters. No plans for rebuilding, only for their destruction and the hopes that “technology”, the same technology which is said to be years behind and away from acheiving that which he wants and forsees, will be able to save us.
Why would he want to collapse the system? Because it is a system that he does not believe in. He was trained and schooled by Communists, Marxists, and Anarchists, and if people do not understand what it is they believe in, then they will never understand why it is he wants the destruction and collapse to happen.
ALl one need do is look up the teachings of Marx, Lenin and Stalin and they will see all the reasons laid bare to their eyes.
But they won’t. They are swimming in the intoxication of the current leader of The Cult of Personality, and no actual facts or reason need be required.
Character and experience are what counts, not dazzling BS.
Actually, I was thinking wuchereria bancrofti

You compare the next administration of the US to Stalinist regimes of Communist russia, bring up 50 million deaths, and you dare ME to debate without “calling names”? Are you serious?
We diasgree politically. True! But your rhetorical launch into the hyperbolic stratosphere is where we differ. I simply think McCain’s adminstration would be more like Bush’s, and would take the country further down a stand alone in the world, economic top down over bottom up topsy turvyness. You say Obama is the end of democracy.
And you say it with a straight face! If you are tuned in as you pretend to be, you must surely realize you view is one of the OUTER OUTER fringe of even your wing of the Republican party.
Of course he does. Dance puppet, dance. God help us.
Yes, text the #?? to vote for your favorite

Hmmm, what did I say months ago? Something like If McCain wins we’re screwed, but if Obama wins we’re screwed but he didnt have the courtesy to buy us a drink first… or a cab ride home?
Had to look that one up, thanks, now Waterspout has a new name; Wuchershed, it fits perfectly.
If we’re going for visuals here, I much prefer the Monkey and the Organ Grinder.
RetFireman — You said it very well! BO does not believe in America, and he has been taught by a variety of people his entire life how EVIL America is, and why she should fail.
The other reason Obama wants to put an end to the American way of life as we know it? The answer is simple, really… Power. What happens to citizens when a country’s economic system collapses? They look to the government to rescue them. (Watercloset: Take a moment to reflect on Germany / Italy in the 1920s / 1930s. Go Google it — we’ll wait for you to catch up.)
I will risk making this post too long by quoting:
Sadly, as RetFireman already said:
Gasp. That’s raaaaacist.
No, I didn’t compare Mr. O to those people. What I did was to state the facts:
- what Mr. O said about redistribution of wealth is, in point of fact, Communist.
- what the Democratic party stands for in 2008 is, in point of fact, Communist.
If you read my earlier note, you will see that Communism is, in point of fact, bad.
I am not on the fringe of my party. I am simply willing to say what others are not.
I like my money and intend to keep it. So will all of the wealthy contributors to the Dems. They will simply remove their wealth from the tax base when taxes are raised (proven historically over and over) and lower that base considerably. Lower the tax base, lower total revenue. Mr. O’s proposed policies will reduce this country’s wealth and ability to compete on the world stage for commerce. That was the condition that eventually led to the Soviet Union’s downfall - Communism produces nothing. As I actually like seeing the United States as the most powerful country on Earth and I like seeing the US do well, I favor capitalism as the system of choice. What I do not like is a political party that chooses to stifle capitalism and all of those freedoms that the US offers.
And yes, I do not wish to see people take me or my family away because we disagree with the state. It’s just a matter of time. This is a historically proven fact. I am sure Lenin never wished to see 30 million of his countrymen murdered by Stalin. But it happened.
Nice try drain brain, that is how we all feel (that have taken the time to research him).
From an early age he was taught Marxist principles. It is who he is.
Marxist principle do not work and when the compelling begins so do the killings.
You can not name one instance where a citizen has lost his freedom due to Bush’s policies. It hasn’t happened.
However, I have seen an expansion of rights of the government to seize property though by the Supreme Court libs, and also the extention of Habeus Corpus rights to non-citizens by same.
I suppose it depends on who’s turning the crank, doesn’t it? Oh well…

PSSST…you ARE the fringe. The absolute fringe-y fringe. Its why I come here. It’s like a sociological wonderland here.
Armed bunker types, anti-science dunderheads, conspiracy wackos, religious end times freaks. It’s like the Star Wars bar in here! You are the conservative party that would rather eat its own kind than budge even an inch to examine your outrageous paranoia and fear mongering (and yes, racism, homophobia and hatred) to possibly explain why you are losing this election. It is incredible to watch.
dadinseattle, don’t feed the troll. It has a MONSTROUS appetite.
Hmmmmm.
Thus more support for the theory that Liberals can never win an argument without resorting to name calling.
In Engalnd, the term “Fringe” is used as slang that would mean a synonym of the American phrase I would call you..

Watershed is a brainwash obama drone. Any sane person can see obama is a marxist if presented with the facts.
A brainwashed drone you all keep responding to, and responding to, and responding to….
I’m with SoCal on this one..

I don’t, I keep on telling people not to respond to this guy.
But only because I got sucked in as well at some point.

I was listening to an Auto Worker talking about Obama saving Detroit and the auto industry. Without coal? That is a trick. Without electricity generated by coal? Without steel smelted with coal? Without plastics derived from oil?
That is one dumb autoworker. I have not seen it but I am guessing the Steel Workers and Railroad Workers unions have supported BroBama.
With or without coal.
The Koreans, Japanese and European’s can make our cars to a greater extent then they do now; with coal. They will have a new 4 wheel drive electric hy-brid called the ThanksBro.
The Obaminites, Democrats of every strip and late night talk show hosts sure have contempt for the calloused hand and bent back. Ask Joe the Plumber. Party of the Working Man indeed.
At least people out of work do not have to worry about the tax rates.

Obama is leading a cult. All of these people following him, refusing to see any flaws.
A little off topic, but as I looked through the local paper this morning there was a full page add for Obama a couple of pages into the first section. The add had alternating horizontal red and white stripes and within each were quotes from locals describing their reasons for voting Obama in a sentence or two. About halfway down I came to one that said “We believe Obama was divinely selected to lead the nation”.
At first I thought well, there are certainly people out there that have not only drunk the kool aide they’ve immersed themselves in it. And then I thought what about the judgement of the local Obama crew that thought this was a good quote to use in their add. What hubris! What stupidity! And apparently they don’t even see it.
Most blue collar people are union because they have to be or need a benefit that the union provides. If asked if the union is really pro worker, the majority of union workers say no and do not sign on to their agendas. The blue collar workers, especially the coal miners, are not going to vote for BHO.
He knows that the MSM won’t report this stuff, but hasn’t Al Gore explained the internet to him?
Well I voted for McCain/Palin last Thursday. I feel I definitely made the right decision. Here in San Antonio, we don’t have coal plants, but the electric company uses coal as their primary source for electricity.
In essence, conservative in europe, people like water will contend that the words spoken and written by people like Obama weren’t written or spoken — as they are written or spoken.
If they are forced to admit that the words were as described, they’ll say that “he didn’t mean it that way!”, taking from the statements the obvious common meaning of the words, and replacing them with the least-likely and most innocent of meanings: light=dark, up=down, etc.
If this fails, then the denial the statements are in complete harmony with everything ever said or written by Communist/Socialist thinkers & practioners through the years is the last stop. This will often work because the school system hasn’t taught about political systems or taught honestly about Western Civ since the late 1950s, so the citizenry is ignorant of the parallels with Marxist theology the utterences of The One display.
However, many do know it, and demonization/marginalization is a developed Marxist tactic.

… as they are written or spoken = … as they are in the process of being written or spoken
wATERSHED,,, was Churchill on the fringe too when he predicted what a Hitler would do to Europe and the world if Hitler took power? Indeed, the crackpot Churchill was correct in his assessment on Herr Hitler. Hope it is not too late here in the USA with BO.
Apply the test: if McCain did this, would he get away with it a la Obama?
I think not. Does that qualify as a media conspiracy?
