If they are forced to admit that the words were as described, they’ll say that “he didn’t mean it that way!”, taking from the statements the obvious common meaning of the words, and replacing them with the least-likely and most innocent of meanings: light=dark, up=down, etc.

If this fails, then the denial the statements are in complete harmony with everything ever said or written by Communist/Socialist thinkers & practioners through the years is the last stop. Most blue collar people are union because they have to be or need a benefit that the union provides. If asked if the union is really pro worker, the majority of union workers say no and do not sign on to their agendas.
