Don’t forget to thank the troops

By Michelle Malkin  •  November 4, 2008 07:35 PM

Gearing up for election liveblogging tonight, the first thing I want to do is send a shout-out to all our troops fighting overseas to protect our freedoms here at home.

Please join me in thanking them for putting their lives on the line for our country.

God bless them all.

You said it best. THANK YOU to all the armed forces. We had one of our employees come back this year from Iraq. He was also awarded the Bronze Medal. All of us have thanked him several times over. You don’t know how much he appreciates that for not just himself, but for everyone he was deployed with.

Coming out of the voting booth today and walking back to my car, I got this overwhelming feeling of pride and the feeling that my vote was going to make a difference. But, just as important, I felt safe. I didn’t have to worry about some suicide bomber or sniper who hated the very fact that I was voting. Who hates the very fact that we have a democracy. I have that freedom because alot of people have given their lives for it and noone can take it away.

Thank God, and thank our military!

I hope people know that the enlistment, re-enlistment and officer retention rates are going to drop under Obama.

It won’t be for lack of patriotism, but who would want to serve under Obama?

You know to keep that “World Idol” claim, he will turn our servicepeople over to the world court in a heatbeat, underarm them, and place ROE on them that would cause any warrior to get killed or arrested.

That and you can rest assured that there will be gays entering, with their “married” spouses adding nothing to the military other than health care expenses.

Did I mention insane enviromental restrictions and being under the command of UN types?

Highest honor and kudos to our troops! May the blood and sweat they shed not be in vain just to appease public moods of a war’s “popularity.” I fear though, that our military’s regard to the young will be severely warped by the climate this new administration will set in. Already in junior highs here in Queens, kids are taught more of how (rightfully) noble our military was at helping tsunami and earthquake victims, but zit about the change of attitudes towards Americans in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Thank you Single Issue Conservative Voters for whittling down the Repub primaries to a weak nominee with no fire in his belly to really win! Gentlemen losers DON’T impress me!

    THE MOST PETTY COMMENT EVER!!!

What would you even know about it, you little worm? It’s more important to talk outta both sides of your mouth and mouth platitudes than have any actual pride in what our military has done.

What have you sacrificed? What have you accomplished? My sister-in-law’s fiance just got back from Iraq and felt proud of how he’s helped the Iraqis. I also have had friends deployed to both Iraq and Afghanistan who’ve felt the same thing only to be condescended to by the likes of people like you.

You don’t know the meaning of the word respect. If you don’t know how to show it and can only make a petty remark, what the hell are you doing here?

Why don’t you STFU and slap yourself silly because your messiah won already?

not that i would expect you to know this, but we have american men and women fighting in afghanistan too. as well as those stationed around the world who, while they may not be actively engaged in combat operations (thank God) are acting as a deterrent. this is also a sacrifice for which we should show gratitude.
