I’m starting a fresh thread for the night. Just a reminder that you can catch me on PJTV sometime during the 8pm-9pm Eastern slot.

Scroll for rolling updates…

Tidbits:

The Real Clear Politics electoral map is here.

McCain takes Kentucky and W. Virginia; Obama takes Vermont.

Military ballots will be counted in Virginia, thank goodness.

Democrat Mark Warner has taken the Senate seat in Va.

Stay tuned…

***

8:15pm Eastern. NBC has called Penn. for Obama. Take it for what it’s worth…

So much for those bitter, clingy racists, eh, Barry O?

McConnell hangs on in Ky. Elizabeth Dole appears to be out in NC.

I can tell you this much: The Senate Republicans need a wake-up call. We need fresh, conservative leadership. McConnell had his chance.

***

8:22pm Eastern. Virginia is still too close too call.

NH to Obama.

8:42pm Eastern. Hearing that Georgia is going in the McCain column…

8:52pm Eastern. Sununu loses his Senate seat in NH.

9:19pm Eastern. Minnesota and Michigan go for O.

GOP Sen. Saxby Chambliss hangs on in Ga.

Fox and others have called Ohio for Obama.

10:55pm Eastern. Both Denver papers are calling Colorado for Obama. Also calling Democrat Udall the winner in the Senate race.

Virginia called for Obama.

Writing’s on the wall, folks.

Got them. No Gulag, no Canada, no re-edukation kamps for this old boy. I am only sure of a few things in life. Those are the Love of God, my family and death. The latter will be mine before I give up my guns, my freedom, or my country, to a bunch of godless socialists.
This country and our tree of liberty was seeded and fertilized with the blood of patriots. It makes me sick to see such a spoiled, whiny bunch of spineless losers vote for a man who represents nothing that is good about America. His change will not be positive for our country. Not one socialist in history has delivered on their campaign promises or maintained their Utopian ideas. Why? It does not work. Human’s are not wired for an ‘all to share equally’ mentality. Greed, jealousy and envy always take hold due to man’s carnal nature and ruin any chance for a Utopian society to succeed. If you don’t work, you should not eat. That is a simple philosophy and should be the law of the land. God help us.

Illegals will get their amnesty, immigration will increase flowing in from third world nations, all of whom are accustomed to the socialist nanny state rule the Dems provide.

The Dems will be set for as long as this nation exists as the dominant party. The failed GOP and other parties may exist on the fringe at the Dems pleasure.

I’d hope the so called “Blue Dog” Dems from moderate districts (there is no such thing as a moderate Dem any longer, anyone with any sense who supports Obama is by definition a socialist or worse) will try to temper the worst of the Pelosi legislation for fear of the 2010 elections, but there are only about 40 of them and Pelosi doesn’t need them, and by maybe coming up a seat or two short of the magic 60 in the Senate, even the RINOs will join in the filibuster of the most egregious legislation.

Maybe, but it is pretty grim, and it is close to single party rule with a Marxist party now set to take control of the US in less than three months.

The only thing running deep is ignorance. You voted in the most unqualified candidate ever who told you he was going to kill jobs and make energy prices skyrocket. All because you don’t like Bush, a man who isn’t even on the ballot, lol.

Boy, you really showed us….showed us how dumb people in this country are.

Despite your not caring about what BHO will do to the country, your analysis is IMHO, correct. GWB was a mess and did destroy the party.

However I have to disagree on your timeline. He started destroying the party a few days after 9/11 when he failed to get a true declaration of war from congress. Under true War powers he could have prevented fifth columnists from undermining the war and the country over the past two terms.

Fifth columnists such as BHO, for instance.

It is early in the night and I am not sure how things are going to look in 2 or 8 hours.

I voted for the Constitution Party this year because I cannot stand what the GOP has become. McCain lost my vote 5 years ago with McCain-Feingold. And he evidently lost a lot of other votes with a truly pathetic campaign. But, this has been a trend with the GOP. I hope he and the GOP learn something from tonight but I have very low expectations.

However, this election turns out the GOP will have been a willing participant in its own destruction. The GOP has governed with incredible irresponsibility over the past 8 years. They have failed to act in many instances and then acted and failed in others. I still cannot begin to define Bush’s domestic agenda over the past 8 years. Medicare prescription and “Every Child Left Behind” are two of the most costly failures in 20 years of politics.

The GOP is complicit in the policies and results of those failed policies that will cripple the nation for the next decade. And they have handed Obama a club with which to beat them for the next 8 years. If Obama wins and when he screws up the economy he will be blaming it on Bush in 2012. And he will get away with it.

Around the world, people will die because America is perceived to be weak and unable or unwilling to act to preserve peace when thugs like Putin and Chavez and Mugabe act.

I lived through 4 years of Carter. I predict that 4 or 8 years of Obama will make Carter look “gifted” in hindsight. We are in for a very long and difficult time. I fear for the Republic.

I am not a believer, but if I were a praying man, I would pray that Obama exceeds all of your wildest expectations, however low those expectations may be. I know that the vast majority of you will never support Obama, but I do hope that 4 or 8 years from now you simply think of Obama as another run of the mill lousy liberal president.
