Um. I think Obama’s election is confirmation the “great nation” is already a thing of the past.
My bet just switched from “recession” to “depression”.
Got them. No Gulag, no Canada, no re-edukation kamps for this old boy. I am only sure of a few things in life. Those are the Love of God, my family and death. The latter will be mine before I give up my guns, my freedom, or my country, to a bunch of godless socialists.
This country and our tree of liberty was seeded and fertilized with the blood of patriots. It makes me sick to see such a spoiled, whiny bunch of spineless losers vote for a man who represents nothing that is good about America. His change will not be positive for our country. Not one socialist in history has delivered on their campaign promises or maintained their Utopian ideas. Why? It does not work. Human’s are not wired for an ‘all to share equally’ mentality. Greed, jealousy and envy always take hold due to man’s carnal nature and ruin any chance for a Utopian society to succeed. If you don’t work, you should not eat. That is a simple philosophy and should be the law of the land. God help us.
What will stop him if he has the full support of the legislative and judicial branches?
Wouldn’t be surprised if one of the 1st things Obummer does is give citizenship to the 20 million or so illegal aliens who voted for him…

I suspect within a year to a year and a half even many Obama voters will realize what a grievous error they have made.
I only hope the question mark and the four Constitutionalists on the Supreme Court can survive the next four years, or we will have a true dictatorship, with no checks or balances left at all.
I’d hope the so called “Blue Dog” Dems from moderate districts (there is no such thing as a moderate Dem any longer, anyone with any sense who supports Obama is by definition a socialist or worse) will try to temper the worst of the Pelosi legislation for fear of the 2010 elections, but there are only about 40 of them and Pelosi doesn’t need them, and by maybe coming up a seat or two short of the magic 60 in the Senate, even the RINOs will join in the filibuster of the most egregious legislation.
Maybe, but it is pretty grim, and it is close to single party rule with a Marxist party now set to take control of the US in less than three months.

I voted for the Constitution Party this year because I cannot stand what the GOP has become. McCain lost my vote 5 years ago with McCain-Feingold. I hope he and the GOP learn something from tonight but I have very low expectations.

And they have handed Obama a club with which to beat them for the next 8 years. If Obama wins and when he screws up the economy he will be blaming it on Bush in 2012. And he will get away with it.
Around the world, people will die because America is perceived to be weak and unable or unwilling to act to preserve peace when thugs like Putin and Chavez and Mugabe act.
I lived through 4 years of Carter. I predict that 4 or 8 years of Obama will make Carter look “gifted” in hindsight. We are in for a very long and difficult time. I fear for the Republic.

Obviously i don’t agree with 1/10 of the feelings people here have about the implcations of the imending Obama administration, I do believe that most of you sincerely feel that way, and I respect that.
I am not a believer, but if I were a praying man, I would pray that Obama exceeds all of your wildest expectations, however low those expectations may be. I know that the vast majority of you will never support Obama, but I do hope that 4 or 8 years from now you simply think of Obama as another run of the mill lousy liberal president.
