If the difference is remians in such a slim popular vote, Obama’s vote-fraud machine is a much more likely culprit. It’s as you said awhile back, MsJustice, you noted that if Obama just scraped out a pop vote win then his win could rightfully viewed with skeptical eyes. A half million fraud votes here, a half million there – they tend to add up.
What you want to bet if Obama wins, that he uses the left over money to put up billboards with his HOPE and CHANGE message around his photo?
Well, as someone who served in the military (with Reagan as commander in chief), who does salute the flag, the thought that a man who at best is a more inexperienced Jimmy Carter, and more likely shares the America hatred of his mentors and friends like Edward Said, Bernadine Dohrn and Bill Ayers, it is killing me.
Well, I won’t die, and if Obama and his ACORN buds can’t totally rig the system by 2012, Obama’s policies, like pre-emptive surrender in Iraq and Afghanistan, and his promises to destroy the coal industry and ‘skyrocket’ electric rates should mean a 1980 Carter style defeat.
I just hope the damage to this country isn’t permanent.
But at least we avoided wide scale race riots, now we’ll just have the normal “we won the championship” style riots with only a few burned businesses, looted liquor stores and overturned cars.

OH…it was a long day at our polling place. We have a little over 600 potential voters and 426 actually voted. Now since this is a 90% Republican Townhip in northern PA, I was certain this was a good sign BUT when we pulled the tapes, it was McCain 208 Obama 195! the others voted 3rd party. WTH! What has happened to people? Everybody here hunts. I just don’t understand people. I guess they want to be taken care of by “the one”. I am trying to stay positive but after seeing that I almost threw up!
Oh, now Brit Hume says that conventional wisdom is that Palin hurt the McCain campaign and lost it for him. Unf-ing believable. I do not believe these hacks.
I visited the Soviet Union in 1985 (as a tourist; I worked at a US Embassy overseas and went on a tour with coworkers). I saw buildings with the entire sides covered in pics of Lenin. Now I’m wondering how long it will be before Obama pastes his face on the side of a building here.

I’ve seen and heard this many time. It’s a nice thought that gives one hope but I think is unlikely. The country has changed considerably since Carter. It used to be government dependency was frowned upon, in theory at least. No more. A majority of the population thinks it is the governments job to provide basic needs to everybody. A simple patriotism is regarded by the “well educated” as naive and provincial. Any profesion of traditional religious beliefs must be kept private to avoid being mocked as some type of dangerous religious nut. Carter, as misguided as he was, was proud of his country and was out to change Washington, not America. Obama and his followers are a different sort. They will do everything they can to reinforce the mindset that has brought us to this disaster. High on the list will be amnesty, with a fast track to citizenship for 15 million new Democrats and their families in time for 2012. If this happens, and the Dems will put it high on their agenda, I don’t see how the country can recover. America will be forever a very different place, and probably not in a good way.

*Here in Tennessee we soundly rejected Obama; We are the Volunteer State; Not the Mandate State; Not the Welfare State; Not the Nanny State; Not the Subsidize State; Just pick any blue state and you will find an abundance of liberal logic, the origin of oxymoron.
*Imagine if the RNC had nudged the others aside in late 2007 to allow Romney to the forefront and the eventual nomination; A Romney/Palin ticket would have been hard to beat; They would still have the MSM attacking them relentlessly and covering for Obama, but Obama has been very effective with the daily drumbeat of tying McCain to Bush and his policies; This would not have worked with Romney; Romney would have been much more effective in articulating his positions and policies than McCain; The real question becomes where does the RNC go from here; They have to be careful about direction; They need to promote a center/right platform based on founding principles, but articulate it with a 21st century, forward looking theme; I doubt that they are up to it,especially if they walk away from their members that voted against that horrible mistake of a bailout.

Over the course of the last few months, i’ve watched, mostly quiet. I’ve seen how this has gone, and watched as what i’ve said has come to pass. I’m not psychic, but anyone with 2 cents of intelligence can see that the “R” beside our names doesnt fit with the package the leadership is pushing.
I’m also not some yahoo calling to stock up on food, or bullets, or calling for a reforming of a party or some national rebellion.
When you wake up in the morning, the worst thing you’ll have to face is a bunch of smug democrats who can neither lose nor win with grace and humility. If that’s the case, so be it. If we lose, then I can take it as the situation presents itself. And these sacks of crap like edelweiss, who believe they are superior to me will continue with such idiotic banter while i continue to live my life and improve myself *without* having to rely on someone in the White House doing it for me. Those who follow this “we won so we must be right” ideology…bore me, honestly. But otherwise, you’ll still go to work tomorrow. You’ll still get gas at the Wawa down the street, and still order books on amazon.com’s site. Your life will, for the most part, really not change at first. and once Obama starts implementing policies…then you choose your next step.
But dissenting into panic, or acting like its the end of our civilization gets you nowhere. Panic, or fear, or irrational thought gives you nothing. Clear thinking and precise thoughts and actions yield results.
Don’t give up. Long as you’re breathing, and as long as you take part in the process, the battle never really is over. It just continues another day, with a different adversary.
For those who have been gracious to this point, my thanks. To those who have not, you should be ashamed of yourself. Gloating over a defeated enemy shows a lack of class. And that would simply be par for the course, methinks, for those who can neither win with dignity, nor accept defeat with their heads held high for putting up a good fight.

I would much have preferred the country not take the extreme beating we will take in national security and economics the next four years, but 2006 finally ousted some dead weight like Lincoln Chafee, and we’ve tossed some more.
