Liddy Dole got her azz kicked here in NC. She ran one of the most despicably negative campaigns I have ever seen, but I still voted party line. But still no surprise she lost.

When people are able to perform a sober analysis of the GOP I think Bush, Rove and about 50 GOP Congressional “leaders” will be proven to the ones who killed the GOP.
I am not sure that the death of the GOP is a bad thing. The demise of the GOP clears the way for a true conservative party. I don’t know what that new, true conservative party will be called but they will act, speak, campaign, win and govern like conservatives in the mold of Ronald Reagan.
I don’t believe all is lost if Obama manages to win tonight. We have survived some truly awful events. But, the costs in terms of wealth and lives that Obama will inflict will be enormous.
Most of the lives will be lost overseas where America’s perceived weakness will lead tyrants to act more aggressively. But, it will take us years to recover form the new economic lunacy that is about to be unleashed and that will allow the tyrants to run loose longer and overcoming them will cost more American lives in the end.
God save this nation.
They just called for Chambliss (GA) by having 55% of the vote.
More like: God, save the Constitution and our Republic. We’ve already heard Obama from his 2001 radio interview say that he thinks it is flawed and needs to change. *sigh*

ugh-i dread going to school tomorrow!! it seems so pointless. for the next 4 yrs i will be implementing plan B- i will have myself declared insane, quit my job and be a full-time artist. obama- i need some new paints and can you make sure to pay the rent on my studio? oh -and an anvil- blacksmithing will soothe my soul or at least my anger with all that hammering.
If the Fairness Doctrine applied to cable television instead of broadcast television (which it doesn’t, Braniac) Fox would still have a lot less to worry about than every other news outlet on cable.
Obama may have brought you hope and change, but he failed to bring you a basic understanding of something as simple as the fairness doctrine.

right4life, the implications of your posts and the eschatology that you hold to leads inevitably to:
1. You can be saved in the Christian era even while you openly reject Jesus (contradicting Acts 17:30-31), &
2. God is a racist, he will save certain people purely because of their race (contradicting Acts 10:34-35).
Both of those things are obviously false. Dispensational premillenialism is not sound theology.
It isn’t about circumcision, but being born again. It isn’t about belonging to Israel, but to the “Israel of God” (Gal. 6:12-16).
The “true Jew” isn’t one who is physically descended from Abraham, but those who are the spiritual descendants of Abraham – those who have the same kind of faith (Rom. 2:25-29).

The feds are already raiding Swiss bank accounts, by some news story I read. Obama wants our 401k money. He’ll seize the pension plans and force them under socialist control. I’m just taking this man at his word, that’s all.

2. Who is the leader of the Republican party and/or the renewed conservative movement? Romney? Jindal? Gingrich?
Our change starts tomorrow. Call, write and visit your local GOP offices and demand change. Out with the spineless, ball-less weaklings and RINOs, like Lindsey Graham and Mitch McConnell. (I keep waiting to hear that Graham has come out of the closet) In with some Charlton Heston, Ronald Reagan type real men. I am sick of these sissyfied girlie-men Repubs.
Not being sexist at all as I would love to see more Michelle Malkin, Sarah Palin and Anne Coulter-types in positions of leadership in the party.

Well, actually Sambo, I’m a woman, but right now I’m a very agitated woman. As a conservative, somewhere to the right of Reagan, this farce of an election is quite literally making me ill. Those who voted for Obama will get exactly what they deserve…and worse, I hope. My problem is that the rest of us don’t deserve what the Obama-Pelosi-Reid cabal will do to our country or our wallets.

As an optimist, best case, Obama is just Jimmy Carter’s second term. A rough period, but we survived.
I would note, that Jimmy Carter allowed a radical Marxist regime to not only come to power in Iran, but humiliate the US for over a year. His weakness in the face of Iran encouraged the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan, which led to radical Islamists from the oil rich Gulf states to head to Afghanistan.
So, Hezb’Allah and al Qaeda both owe their existence at least partly to Jimmy Carter. The 200+ Marines in Beirut. The Americans kidnapped and murdered in Lebanon. The embassy bombings in Beirut. The dead Airmen in Khobar Towers. The dead sailors on the USS Cole. The embassy bombings in Nairobi and Dar es Salaam. The 3000 dead in New York and Washington.
All can be traced back to a naive and cowardly Carter. One can argue whether Iraq was a proper response, but only the looniest MoveOn/Code Pink idiots would argue against fighting the Taliban and al Qaeda in Afghanistan. So the dead in Afghanistan, even friendly fire casualties, can be blamed at least partly on Carter.
Hitler bears the lions share of the blame for the tens of millions who died in Europe, but Neville Chamberlain, who gave away much of Czechoslovakia to appease Hitler, or the French who did nothing when Hitler militarized the Ruhr, can’t escape some of the blame.
And I think we’ll be lucky if Obama is just a Carter-esque inexperienced and naive liberal, and not something more sinister.
Well, I guess when you have over $600 million (of which $200 is questionable) to spend to buy the vote, this is what happens.
And let’s not forget his flip flop on taking public financing.
You can expect more of this to come.
Thank you….THANK YOU. I am glad that we’re not ALL ready to throw in the towel of life. Several have made reference to Jimmy Carter, and what a disaster he was…and we all survived it (those of us alive then). Folks…it’s gonna suck, but keep your head up, you CAN and WILL survive this time.
Stop giving up. We may have to drop back and re-focus, but think long term. The Muslims, when they think about things, they think in terms of decades and centuries. Think long term. There will be new stars of the Republican Party. Let’s cultivate the next Ronald Reagan. He may be 20-25 years old, or 30-35 years old. Even if we start from zero, we can move up.

The OLD Fairness Doctrine was on the executive side (FCC) and was a policy stricken by Ronald Reagan via executive order.
The NEW Fairness Doctrine is being advocated by a Democrat Congress (Schumer et. al.)and a Democrat President, and no one has ANY idea what mediums this legislation will control. It could be just radio, but it is not unreasonable to bet it will end up reaching out to grab television (cable & broadcast) and even the Internet.

2. I don’t know. Romney seems a bit too plastic to me. I don’t feel I can trust him. Jindal might be it, but I honestly do not know yet. I love Newt, but for politics of a major order, he’s just got too many skeletons in his closet. I think that’s why he’s remaining in his role to shape the discussion, and not run for anything. He’s a pretty bright guy.
Note that Republican moderates were wiped out. The lesson re-learned is if your run as a quasi-Democrat, why would you vote for an ersatz Democrat when you can vote for the real thing.
Battle Ground poll Question D3 tells us that if you want a Republican to win, run as a Conservative. Why the RNC can’t grasp that is ????????????
The Fairness Doctrine wouldn’t apply to cable TV now, but by virtue of the Democrats loose interpretation of the Commerce Clause, they can declare cable and satellite to affect interstate commerce, and regulate it. And it doesn’t matter if Fox is the most balanced cable news netowrk, balanced will be in the eyes of Obama appointed ‘fairness commissions’.
All but the most successful conservative talkers will be driven off the air by an equal time requirement for low ad revenue ‘Air America’ style duds.

It’s not that many. It’ll probably be 50-51% of voters in this election, which will be probably 90% of eligible voters, which is a bit over 50% of the total population (the total includes kids, too). So, I am guessing it’ll be 60-70 million voting for Obama, out of a total population of 300+ million.
It all has to do with who is registered, and who voted.

Jindal or Palin in 2008. Jindal has both legislative and executive experience, at both the state and local level.
One or the other would seem my obvious choice in 2012. Duncan Hunter would have been perfect, but he had low name recognition, and not a lot of money. I donated to Hunter, and hoped maybe he’d get some attention at the debates.
I defaulted to wanting Romney, but it was over before Texas. Romney wasn’t perfect, but he was better than McCain.
I hope subtle little insults like ‘the finger’ Obama tossed at McCain yesterday maybe helps cure his urge to reach across the aisle…

The voters are too stupid to understand what they’re doing. They’ve become too dumbed down. Now it can’t be fixed. They’re too stupid. The voters think like slaves now. They are slaves. America has been lost.
It doesn’t matter any more. There will be a federal law mandating ‘tolerance’ of gay marriage.
