Flash: Dixville Notch goes to Obama

WMUR in New Hampshire reports that the “first in the nation” results from Dixville Notch are in. Obama won 15-6 (link).
So far, it looks like those voters only voted once. No word on whether any were out-of-state Obama volunteers, Disney characters, or members of the Dallas Cowboys.
The day is still young…

New Hampshire? I guess they’ve forgotten the meaning of “Live Free or Die”.
NBC calling the election in three…two…
How did Doodad Pro vote?
A bit ominous because this is the first time a Democrat has carried the vote since 68. But that was Humphrey and he lost.
According to Wikipedia, Dixville Notch has a 50% success rate at accurately predicting the election on a national level.
That’s nothing to get wound up about.
We will probably be defeated and the Marxists will take over. They couldn’t hit us with airplanes anymore,so they’ll defeat us from the inside. It’s pretty depressing.
Dixville Notch voting history.
1992 – Bill Clinton got 3 while GHWBush got 9 and Libertarian Andre Marrou got 10 votes.
1976 – Jimmy Carter got 6 while Ford got 11.
1960 (general election) Nixon got 9 while JFK got 0.
An interesting note here. Seems like every 16 years the winner of the Dixville Notch vote was the loser in the National election.
That last time that happened was in 1992. And 2008 will make it 16 years later from 1992 and if Obama won the Dixville Notch vote then perhaps a repeat of the “16 year Dixville Notch curse” will prevail and that McCain will win the race?
Looks like this redesign of the US government website might be on its way…
PuffHo is saying

Sorry meant AP and that is the total for Hart’s location
It’s close to the Canadian border. Maybe we can just give it to them.
Vermont and New Hampshire are, today, full of Manhattanites that have been paying $250/month for the rent stablized apts. that they have been in for 30 years and have, because of all the $$$ they have saved up, houses in New England. I am not saying that that tiny little town has anyone like that, BUT. And who’s to say those Dems don’t vote in both states?
Nonetheless, I have been seeing many out there that feel the end is near. Worry not. Obama WILL NOT WIN. Any of the polls with any cred left have him only ahead within the margin of error. Olberman will have to be committed by this time tomorrow.
Seriously, the vibe in Manhattan in 2000 and 2004 was that Bush didn’t have a snowballs chance. Right now the Libs are very nervous.
With all of the ACORN shenanigans, multiple voting, and media bias, you would think there would be no need for libs to cheat to get their lying, cheating candidate into office.
But, they are emboldened and hungry for freebies.
By any means necessary.
So this is how liberty dies…to cheers and a standing ovation.
That does it: I am removing Dixville Notch from my Must See Before I Die list-at least 2/3 of it.

When the *#) *&% hits the fan several years from now, does anyone think the MSM will feel any remorse for their incompetency as journalist ?
Hopefully, at least those who lost their jobs. How many news organizations will the Ministry of Truth need?
Neal Cavuto was recently threatened by a Dem US Senator whom he was grilling pretty hard on Obama’s policies. The Senator said that perhaps Neal would be among the “remaining” anchors… Welcome to Obama’s World.
And it starts.

I live in northern Idaho. I have many friends who are patriots that truly understand that freedom from government is more important than possessions. They understand the sovereignty of this country is under attack from those with utopian ideals. They understand that without our constitution we have nothing. They understand the free market and how big government destroys it.
There are millions of us out here and if things get really tough, we will find each other.
It has always been the few that preserves freedom for the many.
Whenever I feel too jaded by the amount of people who bought what Obama’s selling, I remember the PUMAs. They went up against their own party because they thought it was more important to fight the corruption than see a Dem in the White House, and that took some guts and sacrifice. And if any of them are out there, I just want to say, you have my respect.
it ain’t over til the fat lady sings, y’all.
Recount!
Recount!
Recount!
I concur and ditto on the much deserved respect for their decision to stand with this country. I learned that they were responsible for McCain’s ‘Country First’ campaign slogan.
I’ve been watching this blog for a very long time. I am honored to know all of you who truly believe in this country.
NOW GO OUT AND VOTE.
Let’s see… that’s one notch toward socialism, and the destruction of what used to be the United States of America, thanks to uninformed people who vote.
Great way to start the day. Nice going, idiots.
Did they go for Kerry in 2004?
sigh
what was ir in 2000 and 2004?
Get ready to say goodbye to a once great Republic and hello to a Marxist/socialist regime.
Just voted! Man, that felt good!
Well. I, for one, am shocked. This means people will ACTUALLY cast votes for the one.
This result means nothing. Watch for PA and OH. If he wins those two, game on!
God Bless you FamilyMan, Idaho and Free Americans everywhere. We have done what we can do, now we pray. Yes indeed there are millions of us out here and if things get really tough, we will find each other.
Now I am off to Vote Central-County- and watch the boxes come in. They have already counted the early ballots.
When you go to the polls you might ask the poll workers if you can get them anything–they will be having a 12+ hour day.
God Bless America, God Bless us all.
Yeah, like they weren’t going to go for O! with the media there to call them racist towns on the spot……
This is why I hate to see results released before all the precincts are closed (or in this case, open). It can make you feel like there’s no reason to even bother.
And don’t get me started on the whole early voting BS. They aren’t releasing vote counts, but they’re saying how many registered Dems vs. Republicans have voted which is just as bad. This is why we have a designated day — ONE DAY — set aside as the official voting day.
Every one needs to vote that day or by absentee ballot and no results or voter information should be released until after the last precinct in the country closes. I don’t care if it’s after midnight in some time zones. A fair presidential election is worth the wait.
I agree with you vsatt. Early voting allows too much fraud to occur. I have envisioned poll workers allowing people to vote again on election day. And this registering and voting out of your home state while visiting another is especially troubling.
Dixville Notch goes to
ObamamarxistWell, at least when it’s over today, provided we lose, we can all know that we are in the upper half of intelligence.
Sigh…
Staying upbeat and positive is essential in this election. The MSM will release exit polling results that are in Obama’s favor just to discourage McCain voters from voting. The polls mean nothing. Voting means everything.
A lot of dems have moved here to NH from Massaschusetts which is why the state is becoming solid blue. Someone wrote in the paper the other day that one of their neighbors who moved here from Mass used their house as a base to send out a bunch of libs (with Mass license plates) to canvas the neighborhood for Obama. Then my sister (who lives on Cape Cod) told me the dems had put out a request asking for volunteers to make phone calls to people in New Hampshire for Obama! They want this state bad, and sorry to say they might get their way. Poor New Hampshire … the libs ruin everything they touch.
Dicksville Crotch
Longest lines at the polls I’ve seen yet in NOVA. Was surprised that this year in VA compuer-paper ballots, in which the voter pens in a circle nexth to candiate of choice.
Do I smell Fla and chads again, or its just because I haven’t had my coffee yet?
Its raining here in eastern NC. I hope it doesn’t discourage the older McCain voters from getting out to vote.
C’mon, AJ…spew alert please! LOL!
New Hampshire chooses death over freedom.
A BIG DITTO TO THAT
I couldn’t vote before work today because I had to bring my daughter to school and we leave before the polls open. I plan on voting after work tonight. God forbid any pollster should talk to me! They won’t like what I have to say!
My husband went and he said the lines were unbelievable, and that was at 7am in our little neighborhood in Salem, MA.
I said a prayer last night, yet again, that we will survive this utter craziness. Hopefully, it helped!
Go Mav Go Saracuda!!

Yup – what you said.
We all got up early and went to vote; the polls had just opened but already there were lines.
Now I’m going to put on my headphones, listen to some music, and work on my writing – and ignore what’s guaranteed to be non-stop analysis of the exit polls.
I haven’t forgotten ’04, when the media was giving it to JFK-2 and he had set up a huge “victory” celebration in Copley Square. Heh.
Was it Bush?
Was it letting the welfare state get so big?
Was it open borders?
Was it the entertainment industry glorifying rap and other bad behavior?
Where did my country go?
SoCal it isn’t over…. sheesh.
IT’S STILL HERE IN IDAHO
I got to my polling place 25 minutes before it opened. The line was well over a block long. But when the polls opened at 7:00AM; the line moved briskly and I was done voting at 7:20AM. This was in Pinellas County Florida. Something I have never seen before was the presence of a Voting Rights Attorney with his cute 3 inch diameter badge on. I couldn’t determine who he worked for.
Oh by the way, a comment about Florida’s new optical scan voting machines. We had two at our polling place, one jammed after 10 minutes of use.
Vote Because You Get To.

As have many of the rest of our countrymen. Let us pray we do not need to relearn this the hard way. If the results go bad, my first purchase will be the Navy Jack, “Don’t Tread on Me”.
Anecdotal here in Raleigh, NC: My polling place was moderately heavy and the base was out in force, but I’m in a heavy Republican area. May it continue.
TiminPhx, and we’ll use that intelligence to get around anything a BHO administration throws at us if he is elected…
As a New Hampshire native, I know what you mean, and I am also heartbroken.
It’s so sad….
As well, Maine is already somewhat socialist, an even higher-tax state than Massachusetts, if you can believe it.
And, of course, Vermont is just plain loony. Even 35 years ago, Vermont seemed “different” from NH.
Ugh!! It’s horrible when a disease spreads.
“With this shield, or on it.”
“Without victory, there is nothing.”
Go McCain/Palin.
CW4
Gonna be a very very good day.
and a better night! lmao.
They’re showing Odopey voting…. he voted for McCain…. rofl.
he even knows he sucks.
it’s taking him forever, prolly to dumb to figure out what to do w/o one of his advisors.
lol
Bush won last notch election 19-7!
the notch hasnt voted dem since 1968!
How can Americans as a whole be so stupid. I mean, I understand the welfare folks, they are losers. But good, hardworking people… what ARE they thinking???

Agreed – the victory of President McCain and Vice President Palin will be spectacular!
There’s a part of me that almost wants Obama to get elected, just to show the libs exactly what it is they’re asking for. They don’t believe us when we tell them how dangerous Obama is, so maybe they’ll have to see it for themselves.
But I love my country far too much. I’m still praying for a McCain win or, at the very least, enough Conservatives in Congress to shoot down anything The One might throw at ‘em.
Either way, I expect this to be a loooong night.
Michelle O’s butt couldnt fit in the voting booth.
The only consolation of an Obama presidency would be the disappearance of trolls like watercloset. They won’t be here to defend their messiah when things go to hell. And go to hell they will if Obama steals this election.
Great post, HM, I agree with every word.
So does this coin in my pocket. But I suspect that was your point. LOL.
It’s the dumbing-down of the education system;
the relentless attacks against our Judeo-Christian foundations;
and the socialist/statist-caused, -sponsored, and -promoted gradual decomposition of our society/nation/culture of the last 40+ years.
That’s what’s caused the conditions that prompted your questions.
Well, it seems to me that with the two announced results that there may not be a PUMA or Bradley effect happening.
Hopefully they just didn’t want to appear to be racist, so they voted party line which would explain the vote tallies.
Otherwise, visit your local gunshop tomorrow and pick up something. For the children….
Mildly interesting, but hardly a barometer of the rest of the nation. Exit polls had Obama taking 95% of the Dixville Notch vote, by the way.
Didn’t DixVille Notch only have 20 registered voters?
Yet there are 21 votes.
This is clearly the work of ACORN.
So make Barry Hussein President of Dixville Notch, and we’ll all be happy.
Uh, I probably meant to say “make Barry Hussein President of only Dixville Notch….”, above.
Whoops.
One more thought to take to the bank!
“This is the lesson: never give in, never give in, never, never, never, never—in nothing, great or small, large or petty—never give in except to convictions of honour and good sense. Never yield to force; never yield to the apparently overwhelming might of the enemy.”
—Sir W.S. Churchill, Harrow School, 29 October 1941.
Sorry, but this is just a non-item to me. Who the hell has ever heard of this little podunk town in the first place? In all the years I have followed politics and the Presidential race, this is the first time I have ever heard anyone say anything about this little…heck, is it even big enough to call a village?…and cannot understand why it is even in the news.
Now maybe if they had predicted the winner of the Presidential Election for the last 200 years with greater than 80 percent accuracy, then maybe that would be a story. However, if it is true they have a 50% chance…hell I have the same chance by flipping a coin.
Now…go back to the prayers. this country needs as many of them as they can get, with the approaching storm of Socialism on the horizon.
So much for “Live Free or Die!”, huh? Another one under the bus.
I’m so happy I decided not to retire to Maine or NH now. 15 years ago southern Maine was turning into a nightmare due to the Boston slime moving in on all the VAC spots and turning them into “Ghetto North”. Now NH too? Mass. is a cancer on New England. What a shame.
Yep.
Agree.
Moving from my home of NH to Assachusdetts a few years ago for a new job is beginning to look like a less stupid move as time passes.
Is that Orville Redenbacher casting his vote? I thought he passed away.
I think it is clear why it is in the news… it went for Obama. More proof the THE ONE should win.
Here in Washington where we have had mass voter fraud including ACORN we have gone to almost 100 percent mail in ballots, which really ticks me off.I feel that it is so much easier to commit voter fraud when you’re not being asked for ID.I’m praying for McCain/Rossi
Family Man if Obama wins we may consider moving to Idaho, just to get out of this horribly lib state that’s as blue as blue can be.
Granite & Bruce: I just got back from voting and was at least happy to hear (from the booth next to me) a man helping his elderly mother and she wanted to vote for all the Republicans. Then when I went to put my ballot in the machine, I saw the man in front of me (who had brought his young son with him), had all the Republicans marked on his ballot. (I wasn’t spying, he was just holding it out!) I live right outside Manchester and know Nashua and Manchester will probably be heavily Dem, but at least those of us in the ‘burbs are still doing the right thing.
Its just because they are the first to get results.
Farmgal:
I will not be that much farther behind you…unless I actually beat you there.
In 2004, 8 of the top 10 states with the highest % of college educated people went for Kerry.
The two that didn’t? Virginia and Colorado. Looks like it’ll be 10 for 10 this year. But yeah, you’re a smart dude.
There, fixed it.
One who would quote college degrees as proof of intelligence shows themselves to be an elitist. Saying otherwise, show yet again that the Democrats are not the party of common people, but of a group seeking to control them.
Besides, I bet you are a person who says, “it must be true, I read it in the NYTimes and saw it on MSNBC!”
