Flash: Dixville Notch goes to Obama

By Michelle Malkin  •  November 4, 2008 01:15 AM

WMUR in New Hampshire reports that the “first in the nation” results from Dixville Notch are in. Obama won 15-6 (link).

So far, it looks like those voters only voted once. No word on whether any were out-of-state Obama volunteers, Disney characters, or members of the Dallas Cowboys.

The day is still young…

    Dixville Notch voting history.

1992 – Bill Clinton got 3 while GHWBush got 9 and Libertarian Andre Marrou got 10 votes.

1976 – Jimmy Carter got 6 while Ford got 11.

1960 (general election) Nixon got 9 while JFK got 0.

An interesting note here. Seems like every 16 years the winner of the Dixville Notch vote was the loser in the National election.

That last time that happened was in 1992. And 2008 will make it 16 years later from 1992 and if Obama won the Dixville Notch vote then perhaps a repeat of the “16 year Dixville Notch curse” will prevail and that McCain will win the race?

Vermont and New Hampshire are, today, full of Manhattanites that have been paying $250/month for the rent stablized apts. that they have been in for 30 years and have, because of all the $$$ they have saved up, houses in New England. I am not saying that that tiny little town has anyone like that, BUT. And who’s to say those Dems don’t vote in both states?
Nonetheless, I have been seeing many out there that feel the end is near. Worry not. Obama WILL NOT WIN. Any of the polls with any cred left have him only ahead within the margin of error. Olberman will have to be committed by this time tomorrow.
Seriously, the vibe in Manhattan in 2000 and 2004 was that Bush didn’t have a snowballs chance. Right now the Libs are very nervous.

They understand the free market and how big government destroys it.

And don’t get me started on the whole early voting BS. They aren’t releasing vote counts, but they’re saying how many registered Dems vs. Republicans have voted which is just as bad. This is why we have a designated day — ONE DAY — set aside as the official voting day.

Every one needs to vote that day or by absentee ballot and no results or voter information should be released until after the last precinct in the country closes. I don’t care if it’s after midnight in some time zones. A fair presidential election is worth the wait.

Didn’t DixVille Notch only have 20 registered voters?

    Yet there are 21 votes.

This is clearly the work of ACORN.

One more thought to take to the bank!

“This is the lesson: never give in, never give in, never, never, never, never—in nothing, great or small, large or petty—never give in except to convictions of honour and good sense. Never yield to force; never yield to the apparently overwhelming might of the enemy.”

Sorry, but this is just a non-item to me. Who the hell has ever heard of this little podunk town in the first place? In all the years I have followed politics and the Presidential race, this is the first time I have ever heard anyone say anything about this little…heck, is it even big enough to call a village?…and cannot understand why it is even in the news.

Now maybe if they had predicted the winner of the Presidential Election for the last 200 years with greater than 80 percent accuracy, then maybe that would be a story. However, if it is true they have a 50% chance…hell I have the same chance by flipping a coin.

Now…go back to the prayers. this country needs as many of them as they can get, with the approaching storm of Socialism on the horizon.

So much for “Live Free or Die!”, huh? Another one under the bus.

I’m so happy I decided not to retire to Maine or NH now. 15 years ago southern Maine was turning into a nightmare due to the Boston slime moving in on all the VAC spots and turning them into “Ghetto North”. Now NH too? Mass. is a cancer on New England. What a shame.

Moving from my home of NH to Assachusdetts a few years ago for a new job is beginning to look like a less stupid move as time passes.

I think it is clear why it is in the news… it went for Obama. More proof the THE ONE should win.

Here in Washington where we have had mass voter fraud including ACORN we have gone to almost 100 percent mail in ballots, which really ticks me off.I feel that it is so much easier to commit voter fraud when you’re not being asked for ID.I’m praying for McCain/Rossi

Granite & Bruce: I just got back from voting and was at least happy to hear (from the booth next to me) a man helping his elderly mother and she wanted to vote for all the Republicans. Then when I went to put my ballot in the machine, I saw the man in front of me (who had brought his young son with him), had all the Republicans marked on his ballot. (I wasn’t spying, he was just holding it out!) I live right outside Manchester and know Nashua and Manchester will probably be heavily Dem, but at least those of us in the ‘burbs are still doing the right thing.

Well, at least when it’s over today, provided we lose, we can all know that we are in the upper half of intelligence.

In 2004, 8 of the top 10 states with the highest % of college educated people went for Kerry.

The two that didn’t? Virginia and Colorado. Looks like it’ll be 10 for 10 this year. But yeah, you’re a smart dude.

One who would quote college degrees as proof of intelligence shows themselves to be an elitist. Saying otherwise, show yet again that the Democrats are not the party of common people, but of a group seeking to control them.

Besides, I bet you are a person who says, “it must be true, I read it in the NYTimes and saw it on MSNBC!”
