Found: Pre-marked ballots for non-English speakers

At least two Spanish-language ballots were pre-marked for Barack Obama at a rural Oakdale precinct Tuesday morning, causing election officials to confiscate and inspect all the blank ballots.
“I consider this extremely serious,” said Lee Lundrigan, Stanislaus County clerk and registrar of voters. “We’ve sent an additional person to the precinct, and everyone is now watching each other.”
The incident happened about 9:20 a.m. at the River Oak Grace Community Church polling place on Rodden Road just north of Oakdale.Hector Parra, who doesn’t speak English, was handed a Spanish-language ballot, which he took to the voting station. A moment later, he went to the precinct workers seeking help. Since there was no designated translator working at the time, the precinct’s staff asked if anyone in the crowded room could speak Spanish.
Sylvia Moreno volunteered to translate, and she said Parra didn’t understand why the ballot he was given had been marked.
“He was going to vote for Obama, but it was already filled in for Obama,” Moreno said. “He just wondered why.”
Moreno explained the problem to precinct workers, who then took Parra’s ballot and put it among the “spoiled” ballots. Parra then was handed a second Spanish-language ballot.
“It was marked for Obama, too. It truly was,” said Moreno, who witnessed the fresh ballot being handed from the precinct worker to Parra in the middle of the room.

The reason there is so much fraud on the Obama side of this election is simply due to the fact that Obama has surrounded himself, for most of his adult life, with the kind of people that simply have no respect for the law.

My Congressman, Steve King ,( Iowa 5th District) sponsored a state law when he was in the legislature to prohibit this nonsense of multi lingual ballots. He fought hard for a nationwide prohibition in 2006, but was shot down law nationwide.

My sentiments exactly. And if I wanted to move to another country, or even take an extended vacation there, I wouldn’t think it was too much to expect of me to learn to read/write their majority language.

Someone help me here. How can one be a citizen and not speak English? Seriously. I thought naturalized citizens had to learn English for the test. And those who were born here of immigrant parents have 18 years to learn English before they’re eligible to vote, even if another language is spoken in the home. How can someone be eligible to vote and not know enough English to recognize “John McCain” and “Barack Obama”?
I think there needs to be a huge change in the system that alows all this cheating and intimidation to be going on and caudled.These people get a slap on the wrist and it makes me sick! We do almost all mail in here in Wa,with the exception of the few select counties that lean heavily Democrat.If Obama gets in there fairly so be it,but with his buddies at Acorn I highly doubt it will be fair.

Terry_Jim, here in California,our ballots are in English/Spanish/Vietnamese and Korean(I
think). Maybe the last is Chinese or Tagalog. This is PC Country. We get to have people who don’t understand the issues vote here.
I’m still “puzzled” by the “get out the vote” campaigns. Honestly – if a person isn’t interested enough to get off their chair, why should the rest of us give any heed to that person’s opinion?

This is very simple. Various judges over the years have decided that there is no constitutional requirement for people to speak english. Do not confuse this with immigration. There are people being born in this country that learn little to no english.
Here’s the nauseating part – all this fraud, cheating, bribery, and other unethical behavior will never get prosecuted – McCain is too wishy/washy and Obama isn’t stupid enough to cut off his own foot.

Why are they even going through the motions of voting? bo and his scumy friends have had this thing won for months maybe years. Not fair but fair don’t count with liberals. Back in 1992 my daddy said the only thing accomplished by that election was that it got Al Gore out of the senate and Tennessee.

We need to limite registrations to the county of residence, no more 3rd party fraud. And IDs should be required, no matter what.
When I voted today, I had to fill out a slip with my name, address, and birth date. Then I had to sign the voter list by my name. Then I had to show my ID.
That’s how it should be across the country. Then add a voter registration database to keep people from voting multiple times for multiple states.

Anyone can charge anything. I require dates, times, places, facts, incidents, examples, etc.
You can start by explaining how the voter fraud took place in FL counties whose election officials were all Democrats; Dade, Broward, etc. etc.

I have always thought that absentee ballots are ripe for this kind of abuse. All the non-Enlish speakers, or fakes, have them marked by the boss and then turn them in.

This is beyond idiotic, since the U.S. Government REQUIRES all citizens to be able to speak, write, and read English in order to become citizens, thus have the right to vote. If you can’t speak English, you can’t vote, according to the INS web site (and the law). On the other hand (and the U.S. Government DOES have three hands, at least) they require any city or town with at least 5,000 people or 5% of the population unable to speak English to provide translators for these English-challenged “voters” all the way to and INSIDE the voting booth. Idiotic? Your government at work.
