Reader David D. is watching the exit poll reporting on cable TV and jotted down some of the snort-worthy results:
*61% think Michelle Obama will be a good first lady, but only 53% think Cindy McCain will be a good first lady.
*66% thought McCain attacked Obama unfairly, only 48% thought Obama attacked McCain unfairly.
*2% scared if Obama wins.
*30% scared if McCain wins.

Aren’t they always skewed toward the Dems? Just a means of discouraging and attempting to deter the opposition from voting.

Well I cast my vote of futility today in the very blue State of MD. In my precinct 2200 Dems v. 99 Repubs as of 6pm.
I think I’m one of 12 Republican voters in Santa Clara County.

On Fox News I saw a footer that said 26% scared if Obama wins…don’t think that was an exit poll though.
It wasn’t 2% scared if Obama wins, it was 23% scared if Obama wins.

I watched Megyn go over the numbers. I got a bit discouraged; but then again, those exit polls don’t reflect early voters, absentee ballots, overseas ballots, and those of us who have jobs and who have to wait to vote.
I rather have her as Speaker of the House! Third in line after Sarah Palin!

I think these two are FoxNews numbers. One fascinating poll from Fox shows that 38% of voters think Palin is qualified to be president vs. 67% for Biden. Most of you will never admit it, but Palin will be a major cause if McCain loses.

FNC is showing some VERY early numbers…from what i’m seeing right this second, its showing mccain with the popular vote. i dont expect that to be exact…but there ya go. its right on their main page, with a map you can mouse over. KY looks to be big with mccain, NH and maine for obama.
but the numbers on the site change…up and down, not just going up…one minute obama is up by 2%, then mccain is up by 3%….but yeah.

Actually, I’m surprised her favorable numbers are even that high considering how vile the media has been towards her. They have trashed her, her family, everything. Not based on her qualifications, but based on character assassination.
Even at this late hour i dont know what to think about Palin.
I do think the SNL stuff was incredibly vicious at times. I think Tina Fey is a…well, i cant say those things or i’d violate the ToS here
regardless, she seems like a nice woman. every now and again i get a “i’m just here” vibe from her. her record is decent enough in Alaska. i havent seen any polls about how the people in her home state feel, but…we’ll see.
Her record in Alaska is around 90% approval rating. That’s not too abstract.

During the 2004 election, I was watching the betting on a race/sports betting website. Bush was favored at about 8/10, when early poll results came in showing Kerry with the lead, the betting reversed, making Kerry about 3/10 and Bush 2.5/1. I bet on Bush and had a nice payoff. Better than voting.
The media didn’t create her answers about SCOTUS decisions, the media’s role in her 1rst Amdt rights, or the role of the veep.
The media didn’t spend 150k for her clothes, and try to coddle and defend her like a little girl. Sexxxxissssstttt.

I’m in the UK, get Fox News though, and I feel your pain conservative in europe. I told someone here I voted for McCain and the first question he asked was “Are you racist?” He was serious. I’m not too worried because in the UK a subway sandwich costs the equivalent of $13 and it costs $30 to dry clean one suit and I love all the CCTV everywhere. It’s like my own reality tv show.
Does any responsible adult really care what the BBC has to say? About anything?

To win the election, McCain MUST win either PA or Colorado.
If the networks can’t call PA for Obama early, that’s a big problem for Obama.
EdDantes, the UK truly is a great place – completely ruined by the Socialist nanny state. I am in the Netherlands (sometimes known as Croydon South). We have the cctv cameras as well (closed circuit television monitors where the Government monitors the streets- just so everyone in America understands – get ready – it’s coming).
We also have the expenses, admittedly, not as bad as in the UK but I eat the $10 BMT and drink a $5 coke for lunch quite a bit – because it’s the cheapest lunch to purchase here (yes, even cheaper than buying it in the grocery store).

True, the media was way too busy circling it’s wagons around Obama, defending him like a little girl.
But MsJustice, it is great to see the abject terror Democrats have of, should McCain not win, Palin delivering a major trashing to them in 2012. Otherwise there’s no explanation for the lunatic level of Dem PDS.
Within six months an Obama presidency will be correctly seen as failed and definitely one-term, as was Jimmy Carter’s. Joe Biden will look like an Old Testament prophet with his warnings that Obama will bring on at least “4 or 5″ Armaggedons and that America will soon realize Obama can’t handle the job. Even the media wonuldn’t be able to save him.
Keeping such facts in mind and considering America’s love and admiration for real people like Sarah Palin in Joe The Plumber, the Democrat’s PDS-fear is understandable.
Regarding our “good friends” the British, I got my copy of “The Economist” print this week (relax, it’s a free subscription via some useless frequent flier miles). It had a very messianic front cover shot of Obama with the caption “it’s time.” (It’s up on their front page as of today.)

I’d say it’s just common sense, MsJustice. You don’t attack someone whom you do not fear or see as a threat, you just blow ‘em off.
This evening, I walked right into my polling place and no one was in line in front of me. We had a choice of electronic or paper ballots.
I had to provide a Drivers license that had to match my name/address/info which was already printed in a large bound book that we had to sign.
No one was outside to exit poll me, so I was a little disappointed. But I must say that I did very well this election cycle. I didnt receive one political solicitation or robocall. And I only had one person ask me if I was registered to vote.
The only thing out of whack, was the Obama people who set up a juice and cookie table just off of the polling place property. Now that I think about it, I should have taken all their cookies to make up for my increased tax burden.
And we received a free coffee from the nearest Starbucks with our Proof-of-Voting sticker. The Republic is still strong for one more night!
