Keep hope alive:

Sigh.

***

Murtha has won.

Thank you, Bill Russell, for your patriotism and dedication and fearlessness. You gave the smear merchant the scare of his life. You inspired people across the country. You are not just a conservative hero. You are an American hero.

THIS is the kind of stupidity that the GOP does

When a Massachusetts Republican raises nearly $2 million in a bid to unseat a Democratic US senator, it should be a good sign that the campaign wars are in full throttle in this notoriously one-sided state.

But Jeff Beatty, the GOP’s hope for unseating John F. Kerry, is struggling to register even a blip on the state’s electoral landscape. In fact, Kerry, a four-term senator with $5 million in his political account, is hardly breaking a sweat in the final days leading up to next Tuesday’s election.

The reason for the deafening political silence: Beatty has been able to use only a fraction of his donations directly on his race.

The rest, well over $1.7 million, has gone to Response America, a direct mail firm out of Arlington, Va., and its vendors.

BMV that russell used is just as bad

The Globe reported in June that Charles A. After he waged an unsuccessful write-in campaign to win the primary, Morse never appeared on the general election ballot.
