It seems this country as of yesterday has reached a point of inflection by electing an outright marxist for president and though the soviet flag is disturbing,it is a portrait of a bleaker future in that the youths at the rallies are even more adamant about marxism and will be coming into power over the next two decades….and THAT is really worrysome!
I hope kibble and the Communistbastard waving that flag enjoy waiting in lines for things as mundane as shoes and toilet paper if that’s the direction this country goes.
Personally, I won’t go with it. Ironically, some of my recent gun purchases have been surplus Red Army issue rifles and pistols. Someone should tell Bill Ayers and the “Civilian Security Service,” or WETHOWTCI, that I will not go to the “re-education camps” quietly.

I was watching a sitcom last week and I didnt quite understand what they were trying to get across with their humor. The little girl on the show was supposedly more enlightened in her politics than her parents were.
There were some random “jokes” about how she looked up to Ghandi and Che. And how she thought Ghandi was sexy. I could understand the revolutionary point of Che, but in the same sentence as Ghandi??

Okay, okay. So Michelle Malkin and the idealouges that post on her blog all say that Obama is a socialist. He was overwhelmingly elected as the President – does this now mean that socialism has been mandated in the US?
I’m in my twenties (revealing my age only to make my point) and I have to say-we were not taught those things in school. We were not taught about the price of communism. We were not taught that communism failed. I myself know pathetically little about Communist Russia and Communist China. We were not taught about Cuba’s failures or the gas shortages under Jimmy Carter.
I was in the IB Program, which possibly makes a difference, but I get the impression from other posts here that if it does, it’s not much. You can’t expect us to know things no one told us. I’m fortunate and lucky to know as much as I do. I hope those of you with good backgrounds in history can teach my generation what you know before we really mess up (or mess up even further).
I live in a state that went swinging this year. Why was there not a single piece of presidential campaign literature on my car? Why did no campaign literature from the presidential race show up in my mailbox? I think conservatives need to really communicate with my generation, and not in soundbytes. Soundbytes work in the Democrats’ favor, because that’s all they work with. Conservatives should drown the liberals in facts, and I think the best way to deliver that would be on paper.

I’d rather not talk to liberals. Once upon a time they used to be openminded, utill they decided that only their opinion mattered. I heard one liberal saying that she would not be embarrased about traveling to europe now that we have elected Obama. I don’t really care about what europe thinks of us. 6 months into his administration, europe may go back to not liking the US, since hating the US has been a diversion from europe’s failures.

Mandated? No. It means that the GOP lost its values. It means the Dems worked harder to win the vote. It means foreign entities were involved in internal voting affairs. It means that most of Hollywood used their platform to influence voters based on personna rather than issues. It means times have changed and an uneducated electorate falls into the wrong ideology. It means you take the good with the bad. It means Obama spent way more than 1/2 billion dollars and outspent McCain. It means almost the entire MSM was in the tank for Obama.
All of that and more and he didnt even win by a landslide???
It should be noted that freedom is not considered to be a “mainstream” concept in most of the world.
To paraphrase a once famous Japanese official, Europe is our boutique! I couldn’t care less what Europe thinks or says about the U.S.

Thanks for your thoughts and it’s unfortunate that our youth really know so little.
On the flip side of your argument, I will add one thing. Our youth spend way too much time talking about things they don’t know anything about and not near enough time listening. It’s evident a good percentage of them have no respect for anyone 10 years older than they and certainly no one 30 years older. They’ll learn though, Obama will teach them a valuable lesson.

But to see that his preferred candidate won and, in his own words, shares his vision is alarming. There’s a reason people have been walking across rivers and deserts to get into this country, and it’s not due to socialism. I don’t see people scrambling to get into those socialist countries.
Plus, it is worth mentioning, he got what…60-some million popular votes? We have 300 million here, of course a percentage are kids, but the vote he got was not a plurality of our citizens. It was a hair over 50% of the voters, who were 80-90% of the eligible voters, who are around 50% of the total population.
Just imagine if McCain had won, and somebody showed up waving a Swastika flag or in Klan garb, and all around him were laughing and approving.

I had a professor in college who told us that every good textbook (or paper?) set out to prove a point. Essentially, anything worth writing was a position paper. No mere fact compilation or exploration.
The IB Program required a certain number of “CAS” hours-standing for Creativity, Action, Service-for a diploma. I understand required “volunteer” hours in high school are getting less and less strange.
History, out of an apparent morbid fear of memorization, tends to be taught with the objective of “teaching the students to think” or “developing analytical ability,” which I’m pretty sure in about 90% of cases means “ability to express an opinion the teacher likes.”
I think the youth do listen to their teachers, and respect these teachers who are 10-30 years older than them, and various other people, like celebrities, who are 10-30 years older than them. I think maybe some of them don’t have a lot of judgment about which ones to listen to-and to listen to something, it needs to be somewhere within earshot in the first place. I also think some of these teachers and others do convey the attitude that it is automatically better to be “doing” something than learning something, and better to be saying something than listening to something. Electrocuting yourself with the VCR is more “pro-active” than reading the instructions.

My point on the flag thing is even if this Wwas some hardcore type, I think we have more important work to do in my opinion and I just want to take the time to say, “he’s a jerk wth a flag” and move on to tackle bigger things.

It is sad to see how the Left has finally succeeded, in all those years, to dumb-down the American people enough, to make them very happy that a man, with the support of congress, will take away more hard-earned money, drive businesses down and prices up, due to more regulations, and make a mess of our foreign policies. Right now, the special-interest groups are gleefully rubbing their hands, as they stand in line for their government hand-outs, at the working person’s expense, of course.

SoCal – you are ill informed. That is not conservatives that are reaching across the aisle – that is Republicans. Conservatives have ideals, and stick to those ideals. Conservatives believe and act according to things like limited government, constitutional authority, capitalism, and real moral and ethical standards (with a source for those moral and ethical standards). The list could go on. Republicans are the ones who thought it politically opportunistic to reach across the aisle. Republicans are the dumb ones.
This too shall pass. My analysis (expanding a little on yesterday’s thoughts):
The empty suit BHO got 1.4% more votes than W did in 2004 – big deal – some “revolution”. McCain got 9% less votes than Bush. Why? Many conservatives stayed home after McCain voted yes on the socialist bailout – wiping out the bump he got for picking Palin. Obama ran on tax cuts, market-based health care reform, individual gun rights, pragmatic withdrawal from Iraq (in contrast to his cut and run position before he got the nomination), attacking Al Qaeda in Pakistan (OK that’s a stretch), “supporting” Israel, etc. I’m not delusional, I don’t believe he really believes in all these things, but he ran to the center to get elected. We’re still a right-center country. Obama got 40 some % of the white vote, 2/3 of the kids, 2/3 of the Hispanics and 95+% of the blacks. Obama’s hands will be tied by the market realities of the now full blown severe worldwide recession/depression over the next two years +/-. Tax revenues will fall. Borrowing limits will be reached and extended but the national debt service will become a larger budget line item than all but a few major programs. Enemies will project a higher profile so cutting defense spending will be very hard. There will be no money to spend on “Great Society II”.
BHO ran a center-left moderated campaign – so he’s now in a box with no one to blame: He’s either a new moderate who just used the left wing to get to power or he’s Marxist liar. The GOP had better field a national congressional team from the right wing of the party in 2010. It’s tempting to switch to Libertarian or Constitutional Party affiliation but the lack of national organization and fund-raising apparatus are deal killers. We need to be vocal and get involved in the State level GOP organizations. I will. They mobilized, excited their base and won. Next time it’s on us.
I am going to a late Halloween party this saturday and will be dressing as Bolshevik and wearing an Obama pin. Cant wait to see everyone’s faces when I turn up.
Someone may have already said this, but as far as it being “only one person” that did this. The difference is, if somebody brought a KKK or Nazi flag to a Republican rally they would be dispatched by the Revelers immediately. This person seems to be being accepted completely.
Want to know what the Soviet flag means?
It means “Mr. Putin, the time it right for you to start an even larger covert insurgency in the United States.”
It means “Hey world, put more people on the inside here on American shores. There are people to provide cover for them as they work to undermine America.”

I know you speak the truth because I dealt with that with my 22 y/o son from 1st grade on. “American History”? What’s that? I made it my job to let him know that his “teachers” were not all powerful, all knowing super beings. They had an agenda and a lesson plan. It was up to him – with my help – to educate himself in the history of his country – because schools certainly didn’t intend to do it.
