Gird your loins, conservatives

By Michelle Malkin  •  November 5, 2008 01:05 AM

There is no time to lick wounds, point fingers, and wallow in post-election mud.

I’m getting a lot of moan-y, sad-face “What do we do now, Michelle?” e-mails.

What do we do now? We do what we’ve always done.

We stand up for our principles, as we always have — through Democrat administrations and Republican administrations, in bear markets or bull markets, in peacetime and wartime.

We stay positive and focused.

We keep the faith.

We do not apologize for our beliefs. We do not re-brand them, re-form them, or relinquish them. We defend them.

We pay respect to the office of the presidency. We count our blessings and recommit ourselves to our constitutional republic.

We gird our loins, to borrow a phrase from our Vice President-elect.

We lock and load our ideological ammunition.

We fight.

***

First assignment for fiscal conservatives in Washington:

1) Oppose the Democrats’ next stimulus boondoggle.
2) Oppose Obama’s windfall profits tax proposal.
3) Oppose new bailouts for states deep in debt.
4) Oppose new foreclosure prevention measures that will simply provide perverse incentives for borrowers to walk away and delay a needed market correction.
5) No more federal loan guarantees for corporations (especially in light of this.

***

Too funny: This post has been linked by French newspaper, Le Monde. Their headline:

“Contre-attaque: Les Républicains se préparent à une longue lutte.”

Oui.

An analogy: if your daughter is obsessed with a guy who is clearly no good for her, the worst thing you could do is criticize him. She’ll hang on to him long after she realizes that you’re right, just to save face.

I think we need to whine, complain, kick and scream every blasted step of the way and fight him at every opportunity. I think we need to amplify his failures and downplay any success until he makes Bush look like Washington.

I believe that we absolutely have to do this for the good of the country. He and what he represents (Collectivism, loss of sovereignty, the end of American exceptionalism) need to be stopped and repudiated or we truly are finished.

I’ll agree the daughters are charming……for now but, they will grow up and be the same as mo. The US is now part of the “international community” and as such leaders that are in line with said line of thought are what we have gotten.

Clinton gutted the military and allowed corruption to seep in to all aspects of US life, Bush was an incompatant who’s refusal to fight our wars like real ones has led to the bulk of what we had left in dire need of repair or replacement as the desert enviroments have wrecked horrors on our supply chain. A message to the RNC, Time to begin the PURGE

The Victory of President-Elect Barack the Obamanation can be blamed and laid squarely at the feet of the RNC and our leaders in Congress,

It has been said from the beginning that McCain should not have been our choice, but the RNC staged the Primaries so that it could be no other. After all it was his turn.

What has it cost us? A man who palls around with terrorists and is a student and a believer in the teachings of Marx is now our President.

A man who has pledged to cut Billions from the military budget in the middle of a war, and who will systemically dismantle the greatest medical system in the world will have free reign, with a congress that believes they can run the banks and the Oil Business at least as well as they have run Medicare and Social Security.

What were we told conservatism is dead! It can’t win only elections run on bipartisan middle of the grounders can, yet where conservative ideas were on the ballot they won. Even in California Gay Marriage was defeated. I am sure that will last until The Obamanation appoints his two supreme court judges.

The Party must pay for this debacle. It is time for the party to split in two or be purged of the Rinos that now are in charge,

No where did they fight on the principles of the Constitution, no where did they point out the tell tale problems that our new President represented as the threat they are to our freedoms and economic system.

We must pledge NO support to the fools that now represent us. They had the power to fight this battle and chose not to.

The only people that spoke out were the ones on the Radio and their voices are now about to be silenced by the fairness doctrine.

There are 57 Million people who voted against the oncoming onslaught, and millions more who would have if they were given a reason or a person to stand behind.

We the base, the believers in the constitution and who understand the difference between right and wrong must now mobilize to prevent the destruction of our nation.

I just got this in an email. Unbelievable!

A New Jersey eighth-grader was rebuffed at school over his Halloween costume — sandals, a robe, a fake beard, and a crown of thorns.

Alex Woinski of Paramus came to school dressed as Jesus while other students wore witch, ghoul, and devil costumes. Mat Staver of Liberty Counsel points out the youngster was sent home.

“Seems to me there’s a direct discrimination here simply because of the Christian viewpoint. Satan is in, apparently; Jesus is not,” he contends. “This is obviously a blatant attempt to discriminate against religion, and particularly Christianity.”

Staver says something needs to be done to educate the educators on the Constitution. “Sometimes if education doesn’t work, litigation does,” he adds. “Sometimes school officials only listen when it affects their pocketbook. This is such a case that needs to catch the school’s attention.”

The youngster said school officials told him to go home because his costume might offend other students and it also disrupted the education process.

This should be done to defend the core principles of this country from creeping Collectivism.

This should be done without any attempt to compromise or appease the press, the Democrats or Obama’s rabble. I doubt that the party’s leaders have the backbone for it, but this is what’s necessary.

Democrats always follow this strategy and Republicans always bend to them. Our leaders must reverse this pattern and exercise whatever power they have without apology.
