The McCain campaign’s classless cowards; Update: Palin reacts
Scroll down for updates…1:29am Eastern Palin holds press conference in Anchorage after arriving late on her flight from Arizona…refuses to comment on gossip spread by unnamed sources and “small, bitter” people saying “foolish things”…on relationship with McCain: No tension. “I love him…I honor him”…jokes that charges that she was “going rogue” referred to her sneaking in return phone calls to reporters…(vid at Hot Air)

Photoshop: David Lunde
The anonymous trashing of Sarah Palin by blabbermouth McCain aides who are leaking to Fox News is disgusting. Absolutely disgusting.
Allah’s got the vid clip of a report citing unnamed McCain staffers accusing Palin of lacking, in Carl Cameron’s words, “knowledgeability.” More slime here. And here.
At least all the Hollywood and Manhattan Palin-haters were willing to sign their names and put their faces on their attacks.
Let’s assume the rumor-mongers are telling the truth for a moment. Who does it damn more: Sarah Palin or McCain and his vetters who green-lighted her for the vice presidential nomination? Don’t need an Ivy League degree to figure that one out.
Sarah Palin worked her heart out. She energized tens of thousands to come out who would have otherwise stayed home. She touched countless families. I didn’t agree with everything she said on the campaign trail. But two fundamental conservative stands she took mattered greatly to me: She vigorously defended the Second Amendment and the sanctity of life more eloquently in practice than any of the educated conservative aristocracy.
And she did it all with a tirelessness and infectious optimism that defied the shameless, bottomless attempts by elites in both parties to bring her and her family down.
Shame on the smearers who don’t have the balls to show their faces.
Thank you, Sarah Palin. Thank you for stepping up the plate and serving your country.

More: Ace of Spades is %^&* spitting mad.
Here’s a story these staffers tell: Sent to collect Palin from a hotel, she greeted them, straight from the shower (running late, I guess ) dressed (scandal!) only in a bathrobe (presumably a very thick hotel bathrobe).
These staffers called that “uncommon” — Cameron delighted in the word to give it the sound of “whorish, unprofessional.”
Heh, assholes? She had to open the door and had just gotten out of the shower. Did you want her to use her magical powers of telekinesis to open the door for you?
So is RedState, which announces an accountability project.
I wonder if the delicate McCain staffers upset at seeing Palin in bathrobe/towel were as aghast at the photos on Meghan McCain’s blog of Cindy McCain in her – gasp! – bathrobe.
***
And now, this:
Randy Scheunemann, a senior foreign policy adviser to John McCain, was fired from the Arizona senator’s campaign last week for what one aide called “trashing” the campaign staff, three senior McCain advisers tell CNN.
One of the aides tells CNN that campaign manager Rick Davis fired Scheunemann after determining that he had been in direct contact with journalists spreading “disinformation” about campaign aides, including Nicolle Wallace and other officials.
“He was positioning himself with Palin at the expense of John McCain’s campaign message,” said one of the aides.

Update: 1:34am Eastern. Palin arrives in Anchorage after a long trip home from Alaska. She holds a press conference. Refuses to comment on gossip spread by unnamed sources and “small, bitter” people saying “foolish things”…on relationship with McCain: No tension. “I love him…I honor him.”
Responding to a question on whether she has any “hurt feelings,” Palin laughs cheerfully. “This is politics! Of course not. It’s rough and tumble and you’ve got to have a thick skin just like I’ve got.”
Palin expresses “disappointment in the media — don’t take it personally.”

Is it any wonder why these clowns lost?
This ain’t ‘christian-trashing’.
To nominate anyone who believes in exorcism – or creationism – would be incredibly dumb.
We have to nominate someone who won’t be looked at as a loon.
guitarguy,
The Democrats just got a virtual communist elected. If they can do that we can get Jindal elected. All it takes is the campaign being about more than social policy.
Are you saying you wouldn’t have nominated Reagan?
If they elected a whackjob, so can we!
That’s your argument?
Again: We’ve learned nothing.
Not sure where we get the idea that Catholics are that literal on Genesis. I’m Catholic, and most Catholics I know, believe Genesis was divinely inspired, and contains fundamental truths, but contains allegorical elements and was originally given to a people, the Israelites, who were of a pre-scientific era.
Actually, if one doesn’t hold to the days of Genesis being literal days, the Creation story generally follows the generally accepted scientific ideas of the Earth’s formation and the development of life.
Jesus spoke in parables, Daniel’s visions sometimes needed to be interpreted.
As a petroleum engineer who helps produce oil from rocks as young as only a few millions years old along the Gulf Coast, to rocks from the Pennsylvanian and Mississipian in North Texas, I can say that people who accept the Bible as the divinely inspired Word of God do not need to believe in ‘young Earth’ creationism.
I’ve heard it was Romney’s ex-aides who were doing this because they want him to run again in 2012, not Palin.
Anyway, I’ve decided I am not watching any news channels, including FOX for one year. I will get my news from reliable blogs, which are more accurate than any news channel anyway. Screw the MSM.
Palin was a key to getting McCain more votes. I have a dislike for McCain although he got my vote…
As far as leader goes… Not my favorite but if the Republicans wanted to actually win the election they would have chosen a young vibrant, intelligent, proven orator, and someone who is economically sound and adept = Romney.
Republicans – I am one of you but selecting McCain was one of the biggest most scratchy pills to swallow. I knew it was doom as soon as it happened.
I think you’re injecting a little too much heat into the creationism debate there.
I’m willing to vote for a creationist or Charles Darwin if he’ll let me keep my guns, make a reasonable attempt at stopping abortions, and kill jihadis.
I really think that issue’s a red herring that elites harp on a lot more than regular folks do. I think it should be a theological matter and not a political one.
Guitar Guy-
You sound a lot like someone I know who ran a blog that ran aground when he decided his readers had to reject Creationism and ID or risk banning.
Have you ever played bass with Al Jarreau?
nativeaz08 good idea. I used to really enjoy Fox News, but I’m turned off big time. Besides, they have way too many tacky, inappropriate commercials, and watching TV makes me lazy.
Sorry, my comment #105 was directed, respectfully, to guitarguy.
nativeaz (#103), I’d heard that too. I hope it’s not true but it makes a lot of sense.
I finished up the campaign admiring Romney a whole lot more than when I started—I think I ended up voting for him by the time the primary rolled around. He’d be a great president. But he’s just not a fire-’em-up crowd pleaser like Palin was.
And here we go…..
Reagan’s views were his own.
Had he made any attempt to legitimize creationism he would’ve met with scorn.
And rightly so.
His attitude towards the theory of evolution is also…………wrong.
A great statesman……….but not a perfect human.
Ideally, stopping abortions by killing jihadis with your guns.
Okay, these sissies, classless cowardly, sneaky sissies at that, need to have John M. come out and state just exactly what their names are and unequivocally, specifically and very very publically denounce them. I want to know these peoples name for the simple reasons stated in Redstate’s Accountability project. No rewards for cowardly, sneaky, underhanded weasels.
Let me just go on record here saying that Sarah Palin has my vote for ANY ELECTED POSITION SHE CHOOSES! If I can legally vote for her, she doesn’t need to ask, she has my vote.
This lady has more class in her little finger than the Washington elite insider morons she was forced to associate with during this campaign.
Oh, Todd, if you feel like you need any help keeping your family safe, I’m there. Your wife is way too precious an asset to the world to chance anything bad happening to her.
If I sound like a Palin family fan, it’s because I am one.
Seven years on now. All TV. I never really meant to make a to-do about it. I was just without TV for a while and it kinda…stuck.
I forget the onslaught that most subject themselves to on a daily basis.
Come on in…the water’s fine.
No.
And I would never ban someone for their beliefs.
I just wouldn’t vote for them….
I also heard Romney was on FOX today blaming Palin for the loss.
Like I said, I gave up watching the news, starting today so I’ve only heard, not seen it for myself.
Reagan’s views were his own.
Had he made any attempt to legitimize creationism
He did.
So only atheists, evolutionists, and professing Christians who don’t take their faith seriously need apply?
By this logic many of the men who signed the Declaration of Independence and/or helped form our government should have stayed home. Am I wrong?
Michelle, I would like to implore you to take FOX News, especially the trio of O’Reilly, Sheperd Smith, and Cameron to task.
These “men” are irresponsibly reporting on hearsay and anonymous sources, something O’Reilly snipes about on his show against the NY Slimes.
Their arrogance and constant kiss ass of Obama has tuned me off of Fox News.
Hannity and Cavuto keep me watching only 2 hours.
We already know how the McCain campaign squandered a gem like Palin. I am also angered at how McCain would allow countless attacks on Palin without adequate defense. Despicable. I am partly glad he is not the president. His constant thumbing his nose at conservatives and “reaching across the aisle” to liberals cost him votes.
I am waiting for 2012 for Jindal.
If Romney was on Fox blaming Palin for the loss, we need to see that video.
And we’re done with him.
That would be a terrible disappointment. Hey, I know, he’s a politician…but this is the time for the visible figureheads to back the side, not to start throwing shivs for their own advantage.
Especially stupid ones like that.
What McCain campaign message? He wouldn’t talk about Jeremiah Wright. He could not nail the subprime mess to the Dems. He was indistinguishable from the Dems in supporting the bailout.
So, I ask again, What McCain campaign message?
If it weren’t for Palin stumping for him, we wouldn’t have known what McCain stood for.
Did it ever occur to the McCain campaign staff that the “problems” they’re saying they had might have had something to do with trying to corral and constantly handle a person who strikes me as a very independent minded woman?
Maybe they should have let her be herself. Palin as Palin is what energized supporters. Palin as a puppet for campaign staff doesn’t really do it.
Personally, I’ve never done well with people breathing down my neck telling me my every move. I imagine she felt much the same way.
I’d like to see Palin run again and bring her outside of the establishment, real everyday conservatism, and tell those handlers–and the “conservative” elitists that got so much pleasure out of deriding her–exactly where they can go.
And kudos to Palin, by the way, for actually knowing what the text of the Constitution says about the vice president’s role (to the dismay of the media who’ve never read the constitution).
No.
But does it have to ba part of your campaign?
No.
But back then they didn’t have the technology to study the Earth and determine how old it really is.
They were intelligent men, and would’ve accepted the proven science.
…….and he was wrong to do so.
If he wanted to legitimize it as a science, that is…
i find it hilarious that they are so willing to make sarah palin the scapegoat. she came on at the end of august. mccain was running a crappy campaign for 6 months prior to august. and it’s palin’s fault that he lost? laughable.
also, if anyone believes that a woman that had two schoolteachers for parents doesn’t know that africa is a continent, you need a head check.
He did.
Classless and crude to be sure. Any who have followed McCain these many years knew it was coming. Somebody has to be blamed and it will NOT be the Crown Prince.
That IS McCain, nice to Liberals and trashes his own party-and he surrounds himself with with Yes Men and sycophants that but feed his ego and run interference.
I still have seen no evidence Jindal is a young earth creationist, and even if he is, I doubt that will be part of his campaign.
I don’t think they are correct, but a Bible believing Christian who is a ‘New Earth Creationist’ would never lose my vote just for that.
I think the Mormon theology is whack, but if it had been Romney vs Obama, I would have had no trouble voting for Romney.
I’d vote for a Lord Vishnu believing Hindu if he/she was Republican, believed in American exceptionalism, limited government and a fundamental right to life running against any Democrat.
Guitar guy, the point is that Reagan believed in certain ideas that may be classified as “religious” but that certainly didn’t stop him from being one of the most successful and admired presidents of the 20th century.
In fact, it helped him by shaping his character to have faith in God and belief in His Word. Read “Hand of Providence” by Mary Beth Brown for an excellent perspective on this.
I believe Sarah Palin could well be a female Ronald Reagan, and that is BECAUSE of her Christian beliefs, not in spite of them.
I’m looking for it. I hope I didn’t start a rumor.
Isn’t it amazing how the news is still talking about Palin? They are so interested in her bathrobe and alleged temper tantrums, and yet, absolutely NO interest in Obama’s relationships with domestic terrorists, PLO organizers, racist mentors, illegal foreign donators, university records, medical records, his New Party and Dem Socialist Party membership, the slums he and Rezko created in Chicago, etc.
Arrrgh!
Again, this is all troublesome.
We agree that the GOP needs a re-tool.
Yet we’re ready to agree on someone like Jindal, just like that.
We’ve got 3-plus years!
Shouldn’t we scour the political landscape and weigh the options?
We’d be foolish to nominate anyone who has anything that could potentially be lampooned/skewered by the left.
Being a christian/catholic – in itself – is perfectly fine.
But, come on…..stating that you took part in an exorcism?
And that it cured someone’s cancer?
Then you’re just begging to be laughed at and not taken seriously.
And this isn’t about you or me…..it’s about the Party…..the conservative movement.
My statements regarding exorcisms is not meant as a slap at your faith.
McCain was behind in the polls when he picked her. She brought him ahead in the polls until the Bailout campaign suspension stunt that was totally misplayed.
I dont understand why the anyone other than the most selfish idiot would throw the bright star of the Republican party under the bus.
Um, I’m interested in the bathrobe…
But yeah, I’m more interested in Ayers and how he’s able to live among us with his shocking record.
The man is a confessed terrorist. His organization plotted to murder American servicemen. And yet he’s a tenured professor.
Academia wonders why Joe Sixpack is a little skeptical of their judgment. I say Exhibit A is Bill Ayers.
I agree that we shouldn’t jump to someone (anyone) too quickly. Jindal is doing very well governing LA, and that’s great. They need him right now. I’m just concerned about your original comments, where you seem to deride people who do believe in (esp.) creationism. There is plenty of scientific evidence to support it, so trashing those who believe the Bible (as backed up by scientific findings) is unnecessary and divisive. No one is forcing you to believe. But many in this country do, and for Repubs. to ignore them is to make yet another fatal error.
What about Charles Johnson of PJM, who is blasting Palin, and nuking/banning anyone that disagrees with him blaming the disaster on Palin and social conservatives (over at little green footballs)?
Michelle, you need to take him to task, he has lost his mind, and is dragging PJM with him down the “Stuck on stupid” hole he’s digging.
Puit it this way:
Prop 8 won in CA, the Florida DOMA gay marriage ban won by 62%. Those are social conservative majorities.
McCain notably UNDERperformed them.
Had McCain run as well as the social conservative state laws did, he would be president.
I think it is time to tell the Republican Party to go pound sand. With in the next 2 years I have a feeling there will be some Dems ready to tell their party to go pound sand.
We keep showing that conservatives can win and the Reps keep putting up moderate Repubs that keep getting their buts kicked.
I’m off TV news, too. Took a three month vacation from the stuff after R&R and it was a delightful experience.
I can’t give up the boob tube completely. I record shows for soldiers in Iraq.
I’d also like to see Romney’s Palin comments. Anyone?
Perhaps you’ve nailed it right there, Red. Selfish, immature, short-sighted, idiotic. I can’t tell you how many times I grimaced when I learned of the latest campaign-sized gaffe. Not just slips of the tongue, but huge tactical errors. I lay them at the feet of the man running the show, McCain, and his foolish syncophants.
Intelligent Design is NOT science.
It was the black vote which came out for Obama that voted overwhelmingly in the 3 states to stop gay marriage. The white vote was mostly split.
Makes me sick. Let’s not forget him and those affected by him.
I think McCain brought in Sarah Palin to prevent a revolt at the convention period…he views us as though we are pegs on a backgammon board.
The plain fact is regardless MCCain ran a crap of a campaign without Sarah Palin, and threw away countless opportunities to defeat him…assuming he really wanted to be president.
It appears “Mr. Bipartisan” is going back to his friends, the democrats, already…would we have gained anything by having him in office? If Palin was his VEEP, she could have acted as a counterbalance to his fooloishness by giving him wise counsel, again assuming that McCain’s other people wouldn’t be democrat-lovers themselves and political backstabbers. We were screwed either way this year.
….It is almost as though he was part of the conspiracy to throw the election to Obama-especially considering his judgement in hiring aides whose hearts were made aghast at the idea that their sweet political hearts would ever have to go against (their) messiah, BO.
Well this outburst about Ms. Palin by some second-rate Americans serving Mr. McCain shows what side they were really on anyhow and we are better off without them.
When I see the small minds of Palin critcs who ran McCain’s campaign (into the ground), I see nothing but moonbats.
No there isn’t.
There is no evidence.
None.
The scientific community is quite happy with the theory of evolution.
It wouldn’t surprise me if this came from a woman campaign staffer. If that’s the case.
This kind of stuff happens in the business world all too often. There is a prevalence of women who don’t like other women who have either a higher profile or position.
It’s typical catty/petty/jealous behavior.
I know because I’ve experienced this myself before. Not from catty women, but from a bunch of girlie men in a company I worked for 15 years ago who couldn’t stand the fact that I had a management position and they didnt.
You did read the rest of my post? About ignoring the base who disagrees with your conclusion? Fatal error for the Repub party.
Everyone slamming Palin by name or anonymously needs a big dose of go f*ck themselves. They crapped all over Reagan in 1976 and in 1980.
Let them join the Democrats, we don’t need them. Cowards.
So they should agree with them, or not get elected?
Like being a RINO…?
Just do what it takes to get elected?
That works for you?
So, if a large majority believes in ID, and the candidate does not (smart candidate), he should change his belief…..just to get elected?
PS -I don’t miss McCain
Guitar Guy shares the thinking of a wahsed up formber bass player with no tolerance for religious people…
http://littlegreenfootballs.com/article/31824_Should_the_GOP_Double_Down_on_Social_Conservatism
It’s late………gotta snooze.
Let’s just not settle on Jindal.
We agree to overhaul the GOP, so let’s do it right.
??????
Bass player?
Who?
Now you’re arguing against yourself. Your original point was that if someone believed in creationism, they would be seen as a loon and not be electable. I disagree. The Repub party has suffered from a lack of direction, conviction, and principle, as evidenced by these petty and baseless attacks on Palin by the McCain camp (if this is true), and others such as the Fox News analysts mentioned above. The Repub party can’t abandon conservative principles nor expect individuals to abandon their deeply held beliefs just to get elected. When an individual does that, the base can see right through it and we lose. On that point, I suppose we agree.
1. Even Willard Libby understood the following: (A) the original ratio of parent and daughter elements of a specimen cannot be known, (B) we have no way of knowing whether any leeching in/out of the system had occurred, and (C) we have no way of knowing whether decay rates have been constant. This goes for any radiometric dating forms.
2. “Proven science”? I see the public school system has accomplished its mission. I’ll start off with some basic problems of evolution: How do you explain the Cambrian explosion? What is the mechanism for evolution? If man, bats, and dolphins have the same ancestors, based upon homologous structures, then why are the genes that control such structures vastly different between each of these species (e.g. homologous structures should be the result of homologous genetic structures, but they don’t: why?) How do you explain the lack of transitional fossils, an admission of folks like the late Stephen J. Gould (why is the “missing link” still missing)? Men and monkeys are roughly 94% similar, genetically speaking to man. Do you realize how many base pairs a 6% difference is when comparing the two? Somewhere on the order of 120 million. Each change in a base pair (adenine-thymine and guanine-cytosine) would require a mutation. Think about how many mutations it would take to change all of them. Then think about how many of those mutations would have to occur in order for the changes to be positive versus negative. This is a classic example of the Haldane’s dilemma.
That’s just for starters. “Proven science”? Hardly.
Yes, we don’t have much time for an overhaul.
Good night, all.
My take
McShame was behind, and was barely raising money until he chose Palin.
Then he shot up in the polls until he opened his big, fat mouth spewing his anti-conservative crap.
AND he blew the biggest chance to stand out from the crowd when he went to Washington concerning the CRAP Sandwich.
He should have called out the Democrats, made it national news no one could ignore and then stood against the CRAP Sandwich.
Sarah Palin is a class act and she is the ONLY reason he got the votes he did.
Period.
Stopped watching FOX this June or July..
too slanted toward the REEEaching across the aisle mentality that got the GOP L_O_T_E_ nominated in the first place….
PALIN is the only reason JM got the %%%% ages he did…
The GOP-RNC –the R Party as a whole had better get off of dissing Patriots like PALIN or it will LOSE EVERY TIME!!!!! …
PS– NEVER TRUSTED weak -kneed Romney…
I’m with nativeaz08! No more news media for me for a year. Screw it. Fox included. Brit Hume was acting really strange on election night. It gave me the creeps.
As far as bashing Sarah Palin?? Hey, all you McCainians, STOP IT! The only reason I voted for your ridiculous candidate was SARAH! Okay, maybe it mainly to vote against Obama, but McCain was by far the weakest of the two! I’ll take Sarah ANYTIME over McCain!
It’s time for McCain to go away!
Two Points.
1. McCain really did not want to win and he thought Sarah Palin would doom his run, but instead her presence in the campaign almost delivered a win to him.
2. The entrenched politicians are afraid of her more than anyone else. They saw what she did in Alaska, and they are afraid of her coming to Washington and cleaning house and appointing an AG that will actually do he/her job and go after corruption in the house and senate.
his/her
GuitarGuy,
If what some believe about Barack Obama is correct (and I think it maybe) you may not have to worry about those darned Christians anymore. We’ll be Raptured and you can read your copy of “Origin of the Species” by the light of the fires burning in the street.
I would much rather vote for a person of strong beliefs (even a well-reasoned atheist) rather than someone who has no convictions, no compass. If you want a religion free society, I’m sure North Korea would welcome you.
As for Sarah, she made a great statement when she went to vote. dressed in jeans (Todd is a lucky man), She did not look like she was dressed for a photo shoot, like most candidates.
If the Republicans have any future, they need to re-connect with the Reagan Democrats. A regular person like Sarah is a good start
pdv, you said it.
Does no one remember how BAD thigns were prior to the GOP convention whree they named Palin as VP nominee?
Does anyone realize that until they threw Palin to the wolves and mishandled her introduction and press that McAmnesty had his ONLY lead of the season?
McCain blew it, hispandering, bailout, wobbling to the middle with no political spine… do I need to go on?
If it were not for Palin, it would have been FAR worse.
Bottom line regarding social conservatism – which truly reaches across race and class lines (and why isnt the GOP reachign out with the social cons into minority communities that have common values?): Had McCain run as well as Prop 8 and similar social conservative oriented laws, he would be president.
Blaming Gov Palin and Social Conservatives for McCain’s incompetent campaign loss is like a 2 pack a day smoker who weighs 390 lbs blaming the defibrillator for his heart attack.
This goes to show that the GOP has a rotten core.
A lot of political hacks in the RNC and those running campaigns really need to get the boot.
I say put Fred Thompson in Charge of the RNC and have him throw everyone out of there. And anyone who was serving on a losing campaign need not apply.
Abandoning the sinking of the wind-driven ship McCain.
We saw what happens when political fresh air of conservatism blows through D.C. and across the political landscape of this nation putting the fear of God into the riff-raff and stirring up all sorts of gutter trash.
Hey, Sarah, if you can stand it we’ll see ya right back here in 2012. Use the next four years to study up on what’s needed, get the introductions in the world’s circles, gather those with integrity around you and you’ll have our votes.
2012: Welcome to the White House, Madam President, Sarah Palin.
pdv is correct! I don’t think McCain ever really wanted to win. He thought it was time for a Black Man to be President, and the whole election was a farce.
It actually WOULD be nice to have a Black Man as President, but a CONSERVATIVE one who loves America and believes in low taxes and a strong military! Not the Communist one we have now.
We need more like Sarah – the GOP has to get away from the control of the Country Club Repubs, and get back to Reagan’s Sam’s Club Repubs.
Decide on principles, and then get candidates that will uphold them!
But instead, people like Will, Frum, etc and the blowhards in press, and the RNC big-wigs in the DC Country Clubs and Manhattan cocktail party types, they hand-pick one of their own and abandon principles in the process.
The old-boy net has gotten us Bush (Read my lips) I, Bob Dole, and Dubya who has been an unmitigated mush on everything but the war and Alito & Roberts – and he nearly screwed up the Supreme Court if you recall his initial nominee.
Candidates fit the principles, not principles to fit the candidate!
This bile coming from the McCain camp is truly despicable. It shows the degree of “loyalty” these sycophants had for the campaign, which is precisely none. Perhaps they should look in a mirror to identify the culprits for McCain’s loss.
McCain ran possibly THE worst campaign I have seen in my lifetime. And one MAJOR blunder was having McCormick(?) as his campaign guru – a guy who told the world of his affections for Obama, and warned McCain in advance if Obama were the Democrat nominee, he would leave the campaign, And he left after the primaries. Changing horses in midstream is not a great idea. McCain never exhibited the same agressiveness toward Obama that he displayed toward Romney in the primaries. And he never quite put together any kind of effective message – he let Obama link him to Bush constantly until the third debate. And when he tried to make the point he was not Bush, he refused to pursue perhaps the most effective strategy in reinforcing that point – Obama railed when anyone tried to link him to Jeremiah Wright, yet he felt it fair game to pound the guilt by association meme with Bush and McCain. That would have been powerful and effective. And, by failing to emphasize Obama’s associations (Palin did that toward the end), McCain allowed Obama to totally eliminate the issue of character from a damn Presidential race. I don’t think the irony of McCain’s plea urging people to fight was lost on voters – he wanted his supporters to fight, yet he was unwilling to do so.
And then he picks people to run his campaign who can’t wait to trash his running mate to the press.
These inside the campaign attacks on Palin Sound VERY familiar – the same type of crap we heard from self-styled conservative intellectuals who conjured up reasons to attack Palin.
Keep the pressure up, Michelle. Smoke out the “off-the-record” weasels. Identify them for all to see what a true self-serving coward looks like.
Chuck Norris: “Shadow warriors are no joke, especially when they take the form of lawyers, friends, and advisers to one or both of the parties who are having problems. In that capacity, like the ninjas of legend, the shadow warrior is most often invisible, but the havoc s/he creates is very real indeed.”
Let’s all get a grip and forget about all this BS. The MSM (including Fox) is not conservatives’ friend. The sooner we begin to get above these scumbags the better we will be. When elite Repubs would rather lose an election than to cater to the female governor of Alaska, then so be it.
anyone besides me want to send an email of support to Sarah?…
alaska gov
If i was slimed my family was attacked and the msm took cheep shots at me i would have blow a gasket and kicked Chrissy mathews teeth in . I would walk through the fires of hell for Sarah. F the msm F the elitist pos. where i come you attack my family and my kids you get your teeth knocked out of your big yapping mouth .
Sarah gave me a reason to vote other then to just vote against nobama .
thank you Sarah your a true American hero .
I am a Palin fan! Plain and simple! Our Republican “friends” should not trash her. Including Mitt that I really liked. If he trashes her forget Mitt! McCain was a nose bleeder but better than the opposition. When Palin came on board I was excited and gave money, even worked a little. If she is trashed by any of them I personally will be really pissed. Our party better come together or we could have a real problem. Lay off Sarah Palin! She is a potential leader, like Bobby Jindahl? [Not sure of spelling but know the man.] Carl Cameron and Bill O’Reilly really ticked me off tonight.
The one-of-a-kind special edition Cabbage Patch Kid of Sarah Palin sold on Ebay for an impressive $19,000.
Obama? A measly $8400.
O
Of all the sissy-boys panty-waists that make up the male end of the MSM, Carl Cameron is at the top.
I mean seriously, look at the guy. He has “wienie” written all over him.
Should be “sissy-boys AND panty-wastes”. I think.
Nuts.
mattymatt10 #174.
I wouldn’t be that hard on him. He is a pretty darn good reporter most of the time. O’Reilly should not have ran the piece in my opinion. Totally demeaning to Sarah. And divisive within the party. We better come together.
If these stories are true, their both sour grapes and or positioning for the future.
I would not have voted for McShame without Gov, Palin on the ticket bottom line. McPain ran what has to be one of the lousiest campaigns ever. I mentioned a month or so ago he has no fight in him…maybe he had it knocked out of him in Hanoi. He seemed to always find the fight to jab or stab his fellow republicans in the back though.
Gov. Sarah Palin is a winner, she tried like hell to drag the ornery old man across the finish line, he just wouldn’t fight.
I sent the Gov. a thank you email today, might not hurt for others to do the same…little appreciation for her and her families efforts to save our country from a Marxist. Let her know we love her and could give a care less about the back stabbing going on now they realize their the loser’s.
I really doubt Romney said anything disparaging about anyone, unless he is getting out of politics…as far as Fox goes, I’m through with the exception of Cavuto, he seems solid so far, with morals unlike that snobby a$$ Mr Bill. Bet he’ll be whining about not getting Palin for an interview till ‘12 when once again she won’t give him one. The BOR actually talks like if she would have gone his show McCain would have won, what a jerk.
I am over Fox news. This is merely the final straw. I am disgusted by the smearing of Sarah. She is the only reason McCain did not get blown out. I (and I am sure millions like me) voted for her. McShame was part of the deal but I never liked him.
Michelle could you please look into the Soros connection to McCain now. It looks to me like McCain pooched the whole thing and as a finale is spiking Palin. A little offense now might pay big dividends down the road.
So, after the MSM and the liberals and the Obamabots try their damndest to destroy Sarah Palin, now the grumbling loser McCain staff is going to take a stab at it?
Oy Vey.
Look, she’s had everything PLUS the kitchen sink thrown at her. She’ll do fine. And seriously, are we actually going to believe this crap? Good night McCain, whatever respect I had for you just left the building. If you had any sense you’d get on TV and tell your ex-staff to shut up. But instead, you and your staff do what’s best for YOU and not the future of the GOP.
Thanks, NOT.
Doesn’t it always seem that Republicans eat their own? Whenever there is a setback or even a hint of scandal, Republicans turn on and destroy their own leaders. It happened to McCarthy (who was an honorable man who was destroyed by the MSM and leftist smears), Nixon (who did nothing John Kennedy hadn’t done), and to Newt Gingrich (who did nothing at all!!).
Democrats, on the other hand, always close ranks and vigorously defend and support their members despite real corruption and scandal – think both John and Ted Kennedy, both Clintons, Pelosi, Reid, Rangel, et al. They never resign, never give up power and never call for another member to resign.
Yet now, once again, Republicans turn on a leader who had the courage to carry the party’s banner and try to savage her. For what purpose??!! To curry favor with the MSM and Democrats? How incredibly mindless!
Palin did her best against vicious attacks from the opposition, how unjust is it for anyone in her own party to now turn on her! She deserves our praise and gratitude! She should be admired and encouraged to continue to represent the Party!
Thank you Sarah Palin!
BOR is a vindicitve egotistical a-hole. His treatment of Michelle was proof enough of that.
I told you all weeks ago that I thought Palins pick to be the VP was just a pro-active way for the Republicans to end her career before it really got started. I think she miffed off some people in the establishment when she cleaned house.
BUT THEY NEVER EXPECTED EVERYONE TO LIKE HER AS MUCH AS THEY DID.
They set her up for a fall and now they have to undermine her anonymously.
.|. .|.
Not buying it.
It’s the blame game in progress.
How about this? When the honeymoon for Obama is over (I’m guessing at the end of January), will everyone have nice things to say about Governor Palin?
O/T – Just found this and I didnt know where else to put it at this time of night:
Well isn’t that a reason why she should be in the whitehouse as President?
