Just keeping you posted on the Coleman-Franken vote count in Minnesota. Norm Coleman is hanging by a thread:

Minnesota-based Power Line has been keeping tabs. And so has Ed Morrissey.

Keep your fingers crossed.

I went by the local gun seller today and he sold 95 weapons on Saturday at the Boise Gun Show. Considering it is a small father son operation with a very good friend as their gunsmith they did very well. Even with the bonanza of this weekend they said business has really slowed with about 25% of our Fighter Wing (for the OPSEC Police this is public knowledge). Well, when we are 1 vote shy of being able to filibuster the fairness doctrine, or amnesty, or the “freedom of choice” Act, or Jamie Gorelick’s nomination to Justice, we will all know where to put the blame!

The time to oppose RINOS is in the primaries. You support cnservaties, work for them and try to get them elected. And if, in the end, you lose and the RINO wins, you grow up and realize getting someone who agrees with you half the time for 6, 12, 18, 24 years is far better than getting someone you disagree with ALL the time for 6, 12, 18 or 24 years!

I would rather have a RINO representing me in the senate any day than Patty Murray and Maria Cantwell. A person I agree with 50 or even 40 percent of the time is better than a liberal hack I disagree with on everything.

You dont GROW a party by excluding people from it! And you ccertainly dont win elections without growing the party.

I really have no patience whatsoever for people who think themselves ideological “purists”. “Oh look at me! and how ideologically puuure I am!” Its really nothing more than mastabatory immaturity.

John McCain is largely a RINO, yet none less than Rush Limbaugh and Mark Levin were able to support him enthusiastically, because, well, truth be told, because theyre grown ups and they know that doing whats best for America sometimes requires compromise with yes, gasp, RINOS! And I’ll take their conservative credentials over any “purists” any day.

it’s not the people of MN – it’s the people of Mpls-St.P. Outside of the twin cities sanity rules, meaningful thoughts are generated, mental challenges are studied, over come, and conquored. However Minneapolis-St. Paul is full of city bred dummies all wandering around with one hand out and one leg up expecting Uncle Sam to be their nanny.

Just about the only truly stupid person outside of the Twin Cities (Ed Schultz) has been escorted across the state line to Fargo where he’s held up as a curiosity and an example by hard working parents throughout MN and ND. “Look,” they tell their children, “Worship government excess and expect a hand out and that’s what you’ll grow up to be like.”

It’s a HUGE education for the young folks of the northern prairies. We call it “Scared smart”

However the kool-aid sucking sheeple of Minneapolis/St. Paul outnumber the rest of the hard working people of Minnesota so a wonderful, delightful place on Gods green earth has to unfairly carry the curse of city liberalism, much like New York state has to suffer the excesses and social greed of Manhattan.

Happyscrapper – You should tell that no-good bum to get lost! He’s not good enough for your daughter anyway! I bet she was a smart person, then he must have corrupted her to turn liberal. What a tragedy for your family. I feel for you.

Actually, he hasn’t corrupted her yet. She is still a conservative…except she voted for Barkley because she doesn’t like Coleman. I told her she wasted her vote and now she is starting to agree with me. She just needs to grow up a bit and become a more seasoned voter. Although conservative, she did vote for McCain. She knows all the junk about Obama and is scared to death of him. Now, my son-in-law is another story. There may be hope for him because he isn’t very informed…hopefully I can reprogram him before the next election. We have to keep him because of our adorable grandson and one on the way!! Other than his voting idiocy, he is a pretty neat guy.

IMHO, the solution here is simple. A candidate should be able to delegate his votes to another candidate, with a 2/3 discount.

Obviously a runoff vote is also an option, but it seems those who didn’t vote the first time (because it wasn’t that big a deal to vote) shouldn’t get the option to vote in runoffs. Those who did vote for a minority candidate, would get some say in how things turned out according to how the person they voted for chooses to delegate their votes. Presumably, this would be to curry some sort of favor for some cause the minority candidate championed.

I don’t know what is more disgusting, that a classless loser like Franken who couldn’t possibly have the qualities needed to do well in the position is able to come so close to winning, while attacks on Sarah Palin as unqualified continue – or that whenver an election is this close, the outcome isn’t determined by who won, but by how much we can do to limit the Democrat cheating…

The democrats will do it like they tried in the 2000 Florida election. Keep counting (and stuffing in phony ACORN registered votes) until FrankinStein wins. Micky Mouse, Ben Dover, Goofy, and others will get another unprincipled liberal into the senate. I can’t wait for the T.V. to show “vote judges” staring at the computer tally cards checking for hanging chads or stray magnetic domains to determine that this was really a vote for FrankinStein.

It probably doesn’t mean much–with the RINO ladies from Maine, the independent and socialist, and the Biden tie breaking vote the country is headed for the cliff. The “Messiah” will applaud as the country goes over the edge–no veto here. Welcome to the new U.S.S.A!
