Update 1:54pm Eastern. Obama and his wife have arrived at the White House (or rather, the Obamas’ palace). They were greeted by President Bush and First Lady Laura Bush. Lots of touchy-feely back-slapping and glad-handing. No sign of the hand sanitizer the cable shows have been blabbing about all morning. I hear Michelle Obama has already ordered the White House chef to prepare the Obama Cake.
All hail the peaceful transition of power from lame-duck president to overlord-elect!

I hate to break it to everyone, but God told me that I govern myself. I choose who I care to submit to, and I if I do not wish so, then I will take my business elsewhere. Nothing says that I need to stay in modern society with its accoutrements and continue to pay taxes. I can drop out any time I want to. There is only one thing left in life that I HAVE to do.
Royalty, rich people, powerful people and Caesars can bite me.
I’m glad you could stomach to watch Gutterball and the black widow go to the White House. I can’t. I won’t even watch the swearing in. I just can’t believe we (not ME) just elected an empty suit who has extremely shady relationships to the highest office in the country. Pray for America.

I clearly remember listening to the radio (NYC) the Night Bill Clinton won the elction. There were 3 female radio hosts at that time: Lisa Evers (Curtis Sliwa’s ex-wife), Joy Behar, and Lynn Samuels. Lisa was going on and on. She could barely contain her glee. She said she’d called Joy and Lynn and gushed: “We’re in! We’re in!”
I never quite grasped what she meant, but damn, was she ecstatic.
I think we’re seeing the same thing with ‘O’. The novelty will wear-off after the inauguration, and the world will finally realize that black people can screw things up just as much as white people can.

Yes, there was a lot of bad behavior being rewarded and a lot of unrealistic expectations place on Obama’s plate. Obama may not be able to deliver on his own expectations. But, the timing of this statement, based on when the Obamas arrived at the White House and when you posted this comment strains credulity. Ok, maybe you heard it before they arrived at the White House. (You did not note when you actually ‘heard’ it.)
I have learned a few things from you in your past writings. Be careful when reading a column, or report, when the words ’some’ and ‘many’ are used. Never thought about that before and it makes sense. You earned my trust over time. I respect what you have to say and your point of view.
On that list of words (phrases) that should cause caution to the reader are ‘I hear’ and ‘an anonymous source.’
