There's a great cake supply shop in Glen Burnie just outside baltimore if you need molds and stuff. It's called Kake Kraft Korner just off Balt/Annapolis road near where i-97 intersects 648. :)

Birthday cake making is a labor of love, MM, one that requires your undivided attention. I fully appreciate that the cake comes before the blog. If I may presume to speak for the others, we wouldn't have it any other way.

BTW, can we see the cake?

Happy birthday to all.
If you want to shop and make a difference, I suggest you go here.
And you can't go wrong with German chocolate cake, in my opinion (or key lime pie).

Marc (#94 and 95). I prefer the macadamia nuts from the Big Island. But, you left out the coffee. While Kona coffee has the biggest reputation, it is easier to get pure Kauai or Maui coffee. Shave (no "d") ice is ono (good), as you pointed out. (Yes, I have lived there.)

You sound like me, MissCheryl. I've always said that if I cook something, even I'm afraid to eat it. If I have dinner guests, we need to take turns hold a gun on each other. :)

Icing off the spoon, knife, bowl, finger, counter top, floor (5 sec rule),… it’s all good!

concede..aslongasitschocolate!

I can think of OTHER places to lick icing off of when one's wife is icing a cake, but this is a G rated blog, so I won't go there.

The best cake in the world is a pineapple cake that you can get fresh in Hawaii (don't know if I spelled Hawaii correctly. Just back from a vacation there and didn't concentrate on the spelling of the aloha state). Go into any bakery on the islands and ask for the pineapple cake. I promise that you will never choose another style of cake (at least if your on the islands). Then ask for the Macadmian nuts in Maui and you will have the most perfect meal in the world. Maui is famous for other fine products as well but that is another story.
Then ask for shaved ice (you can only get it in the aloha state) and you will have the pefect combination: One from every food group that matters: cake, nuts, and ice. Ah, perfection!

My younger teenaged daughter baked my older teen daughter a Barbie cake last summer. (they regress sometimes, just for a bit, don't they?) Where you put a Barbie in the middle and build a cake "dress" around the doll. It was quite spectacular, I must say. Kudos on the cake-making and decorating, Michelle. I'm not as good with that stuff, though i do bake.

No apologies needed for taking time to be a mom! What a lucky little guy. And how refreshing to read something so heart-warming. Family really is what it's all about.

You made my night!

MM, there is never a time for you or anyone else to ever apologize when doing for ones family. IMHO, without family, one has nothing.

Happy Birthday to Master Malkin, the young man has wonderful mother full of love and it shows.

I had no idea that Pokemon was still in vogue, as my eldest went through that phase over 10 years ago. Then again, I understand the Power Rangers are still around as well.

Yep, so are CareBears and Cabbage Patch Dolls. I just bought the Cabbage Patch Triplets for my grandaughter. Bob the Builder Talking Tool Belt for my 20month old grandson. Bob The Builder is about 10yrs old also.
