re: snowboarding – Colorado. They opened the slopes 3 weeks ago. It looked like it was going to be an early winter, but no blizzards yet.

FM, I see some Utah resorts are open already, going to be a good year for the skiers and resorts if the skiers have any money.
Unusual they open before resorts in Idaho is it not? Would that be a change in the jet stream as a result of Gorebal Warming?

These irate protesters seem to have chosen their religious scapegoat very sagaciously, selecting one they knew would not strike back.

As I incoherently tried to state in my above post from last night (I was tired and had a ton of work to do on the net), these protesters are blaming the wrong people. It doesn’t matter how much money the Mormon Church put behind Prop 8, it still would not have passed had it been against the wishes of California voters.

The truth is, Californians, by and larger, do not support gay marriage. They do not want it to be law in their state, as hard as that fact may be for some gay enclaves to accept, otherwise Prop 8 would have failed resoundingly.

Something else I find confusing about these violent protesters is how, despite their use of threatened violence and outright intimidation and coercion, they appear to be the representing to the nation all of California’s gay community.

Where are the voices of reason in the gay-/Hollywood community, denouncing the downright violent and anti-religious acts of these Prop 8 protesters? Don’t they realize that by continuing to remain silent on this issue, they risk allowing these protesters to destroy, in the heat of dissent, the modicum of acceptance into America’s mainstream that has taken many responsible gay groups over two decades to achieve?
