What bravery! I hope she can continue her schooling. These cowardly Taliban thugs need to be eradicated. They can’t deal with an educated woman, that might be threatening to them.

Too bad many American kids don’t value their education as much as this young woman does.

This article should be mandatory reading for all school children in America tomorrow morning. They need to know that what they take for granted in this country has to be fought for in other countries.
They need to know how priviledged they are to live in the land of the free.
Shamsia is to be commended for her bravery and commitment to her education.
    An inspiration to all!!

I’ve read elsewhere that these acid attacks have been going on for some time. IIRC there are some American doctors that are performing plastic surgery to reduce the scars of the brave women who forged ahead with the valor of a warrior.

What is c.a.i.r.’s position on these attacks?

May the attacker’s find that their final resting place is in that special hot corner of HELL.

Probably because most of them haven’t sacrificed a damned thing in their sorry lives. Mommy and Daddy gave them everything they asked for, and Daddy never fought for his freedom either.

This is generally a good idea. If there were such a site where Americans could directly read the stories of or contact Iraqis whose lives were improved by our intervention it could’ve helped turn the election against the military “baby-killer” implications fielded by MSNBC and CNN. I’d love for the anchors of CNN and MSNBC to face to face with those such as Shamia and say our liberating women and girls over there was “a mistake”.

I’m VERY disappointed in how Iraqi-Americans here have been in pushing this point.

Shamsia and other brave Islamic girls are just easy targets for radical men and jihadis. National Geographic had a story a few months ago on Pakistan–a girl there was “HONOR RAPED”–the police / authorities refused to do anything to her politically well connected attackers–who promised to return for more fun with the girl and her sisters.

Another National Geographic article on Iran a few years ago showed how a brave woman and her two sisters handle this threat. They were attending a wedding–no head scarves, dressed in pretty makeup, jewelery, clothing, etc. They weren’t worried about jihadis–the woman carried her “noisemaker” with her–a folding stock AK47 WITH THE FULL DRUM MAGAZINE! Her sisters carried other weapons also–no fear or jihadi / Imam / morals police problems there!

Now you know why our Constitution’s framers gave us a second amendment right to arm ourselves. We are allowed to protect ourselves when the authorities can’t or won’t–or when they act with the evildoers.

Condi Rice told how her minister father and other Black persons had to patrol their deep South community to keep KKK types out of their neighborhood–the police didn’t care to protect them. Colt, S & W, Winchester, and 12 gauge shotguns / 00 buckshot worked quite well–again–no problems (or KKK guys) there!

The women of the benighted Islamic countries need to form a VIGILANTE GROUP / SISTERHOOD TO ARM AND PROTECT THEMSELVES. This group should also do PAYBACK to any individual jihadis and / or government / police agency that fails to protect them–or works with their oppressors. The next attack should look like Israel or the old West movie scenes where the (female) citizens empty the guns into the murderers.

I have since had time to check on my memory. It was not the Iraq school children. It was the group called Depilex Smilagain Foundation and is based in Pakistan. Here are some links. Young children warning.

I would guess that there is probably an American group that is in parallel.

Either way, the attacks are sub-human.
