Left and lefter: The One and The Other One vow to “fix up the country;” Plus: Bush’s parting gift to Obama

By Michelle Malkin  •  November 17, 2008 01:35 PM

Terrific: Barack Obama, John McCain, and Lindsay Grahamnesty are united in their pledge to “fix up the country.”

President-elect Barack Obama and vanquished rival John McCain met for the first time since the November 4 election on Monday, pledging to work together to face the financial crisis and other national challenges.

“We’re going to have a good conversation about how we can do some work together to fix up the country,” Obama said, adding that he wanted to offer his thanks to McCain for his “outstanding service” to the country.

McCain, when asked generally whether he was hoping to help the Democratic president-elect, replied: “Obviously.”

…McCain, who lost his entourage of Secret Service officers and multiple staff when he lost the election, was accompanied in his meeting by his close friend and colleague, Sen. Lindsey Graham of South Carolina.

Obama was joined by his chief of staff, Rep. Rahm Emanuel of Illinois.

I smell a massive foreclosure prevention program coming on, followed by the McCain-Obama Shamnesty 2.0.

Oh, crikey. Bush is going to leave half the crap sandwich for Barack Obama to spread around:

White House may let Obama decide part of bailout

The Bush administration has told top lawmakers it does not plan to use at least half of the $700 billion bailout fund that Congress approved this fall to aid the financial industry, congressional officials said Monday.

These officials said Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson passed the word over the weekend that he intends to leave $350 billion untouched when the administration leaves office on Jan. 20. That would mean the incoming Obama administration would decide whether and how the funds should be spent.

The disclosure comes at a time when Democrats are working to pass emergency legislation to spend $25 billion of the bailout money to provide loans to the battered auto industry.

    LOL :)

They might as well kiss smack on the mouth and get it over with.

Naw, Oink, I think we’ve already seen more than enough Public Displays of Affection between these two leftists during the alleged “campaign”, my friend.

Hey, can I go testify before Congress? I’m sure I could make up a story that would sound way better that Poulsin’s and be a lot cheaper! Then I would go on vacation instead of sitting around yapping about how I was going to fix the economy.

They needed $700 BILLION RIGHT NOW to do absolutely nothing. Now they are waiting for the new administration to do absolutely nothing. I love government, NOT!

Somebody smarter than me said something like this: At least a crook is honest about it when he steals your money, a politician lies about all the good it will do you.

McCain wants to get things done.

Yeah, but America was too blinded to vote for him. Running cover for Obama isn’t gonna help him now.

You want to be firmly in the bitter, dead end, obstructionist, hold your breath till you turn blue, right.

Um, you might wanna restate that; as is, it pretty much describes every post you’ve made since you’ve been here.

SC: Start working NOW to uproot Lindsey Graham. You have 5 years to put a better candidate up.

I voted against him in the primary – a lot of good it did. I think we’re stuck with his efeminate a$$ for a long time.

I think Obama should get precisely the same level of respect that Bush has gotten from the left. Rest assured, anything that I can do to see that he personally fails without damaging the country I will gleefully do.

Of course I wont resort to efforts to lose the war or exploit America an deaths as your side has. But I think it is fair to say that I already dislike the man, what he (supposedly) intends to do and especially his idiot, zombie, pod-people supporters.
