Well, I am a glass half full guy. There is probably about an even chance Obama will simply be the President Jon Cary never got to be. A United Nations dictated foreign and national security policy. (Occasional Islamic terror attacks are just the price of living in this modern world, and any identified survivors of the plots will be indicted by a grand jury, as if that will matter in their caves in Pakistan), private property and enterprise will be allowed to exist, although restricted and more heavily taxed, we’ll keep many of our liberties, although there will be a creeping ‘nanny state’ erosion of some rights like free speech. The national government will control at least half of the GDP, and like other countries in Europe where the government runs over half the economy, there will be permanent 10%+ unemployment rates, and like in Europe, where almost all of the top 100 businesses now were top 100 businesses 50 years ago, new companies will struggle mightily in the face of high taxes and regulation.

IE, Obama just wants to make us into France.

The other option, of course, Obama is indeed The Fresh Prince of Bill Ayers, and shares his views about the complete overthrow of the US and the replacement of our current government with a Marxist one party state.

I guess I’ll try to be optimistic and hope we wind up not much worse than France.

However, I don’t blame the public schools. I went to one, my kids are in one. You can get an excellent education in them if you pay attention to what you child is being taught. We de-program our kids every night. (The private schools here are even more liberal than the public schools.) I blame decades of liberalism they sucked the parental instinct out of the people who eventually voted for Obama and socialism. They got the parents to buy into the myth of equality of result, and so they get the children. It is a downward cycle.

75% of the voters in this country make their votes on the basis of emotion. So this is not the least bit surprising.

There was no logical basis to vote for Obama. If he was applying for the job, when you look at the resumes of ALL of the presidential contenders going back to Iowa and the VP’s nominated, Obama had the most pitiful qualifications.

He would have been the first candidate put in the NFI (no further interest) file. Spiderman has more basis in reality than Obama. He’s a media creation.

This yr I have started to believe that 18yrs old isn’t old enough to vote. Additionally, I think one should have to take and pass some sort of test that outlines how our govt works.

We have to many idiots voting who get their news from SNL & other comedy shows. Someone in my family actually stated that he was unsure if Colbert was a real news man or a comedian when he was reporting on news events.

I honestly do not believe that anyone under 30yrs old even knows what a Socialist society is anymore. Listen to a few of those people in the vid – spreading the wealth around sounds good to them. Unless it was actually put into practice with their money….which it will be under the O crap administration.

Such a test exists, it’s called the final exam for the American Government classes all High Schoolers take. However, since the education system here is so bad, the students don’t learn anything! Or, if they do, it’s all of a Left-leaning slant because of the teachers and texts used.

I’m sad you have has such a pessimistic view about people and God. There is potential for good in everyone, including God, for he invented it. He also gave humans free will to accept his goodness. Denny Fitch who was the fourth pilot, who came forward and ran the throttles on UA 232 that crash landed in Sioux City in 1898 said, “Your attitude determines your altitude.”

95% of the people on this site claim to love Ronald Reagan. I do not understand how most people out here can claim that, because I have seen more positive comments at a meeting of the Pessimists Club.

Reagan was the eternal optimist, because he had absolute confidence (note I did not say faith) in his conservative principles. He also believed in the American people.

What this site shows me this morning is you can count to those with confidence in our message and our ability to convince people of it on one hand.

We got clobbered this election, because our message never got out, period. We got outplayed by the other side. Well we got the game film and we have the means to see what we need to do to win the next time. Next game is scheduled for November 2010.

I suggest we knock off the “we’re so screwed,” “people are so stupid,” “liberals suck,” and “let’s form a third party” mantra. We need to get to work on refining what our message is and how to get it out to the peope given the media.

It’s a tough job given the uneven playing field. I sure do not know the best way, but I have the confidence we have enough brain power out here to figure it out.

So…..to quote an American hero, “Let’s Roll.”

This Leno style video is cool, but it’s not a winning argument for Republicans. The better educated demographic groups are heavily Democratic. Republican strongholds are less educated lower income demographics. And there is deliberate misinformation. Just go to youtube.com and search on “obama muslim”.

I notice that you make such assertions without much proof except for youtube. I love how you continue to assert that Republicans are “less educated” based on your own condescending attitude. I’ll be sure to pass that on to my Republican friends when I see them in NYC during Thanksgiving.

I also love the condescension that drips off your tongue when you base intelligence on how much money one earns. Some of the most educated people (like my father) that I’ve met over time never went to college but had more real world experience than you can possibly appreciate, lgm. However, I’ve met many college-educated folks (such as my liberal brothers and sisters-in law) and while they’re good specialists I notice they know nothing of anything else.

Lgm, if you don’t even know how the government functions or even who controls it that what does that say about the electorate of this country. We are getting stupider and stupider as a nation and you stand by and simper about how one demographic, without evidence, is more intelligent than the other. If anything, our your people are arrogant, foolish, and think they’re special because they’ve been told how unique they are by our self-esteem movement.

We no longer have an educated electorate and it doesn’t matter whether voters are college educated or not. If you don’t know what your vote means or what you’re actually voting for, what does that say about the future of our country, lgm? If you’re not concerned, then you’re just as ignorant as those you claim are part of the “ill-educated” class.
