I think I can do Senator Sessions one better... tell the world, tomorrow, that we're done with bailouts.

You have to wonder how many financial players are sitting on their hands waiting to see what happens. Will this or that insurance company get money? Will they or won't they let the automakers go bankrupt? Will they or won't they let Citibank fail? Or will they make it merge with another bank? Will they or won't they send out more "stimulus" checks. Uncertainty is not good for business.

As they say, the sharpest knife cuts quickest.

GWB may (or may not have) kept the country safe from any large scale terrorist attacks... but I can't say that I'll miss him otherwise.

The only reason to defend the man is because the Democrats have acted with treasonous irresponsibility - vicious sniping from the sidelines regardless of the cost to the nation.

With The Messiah in the White House (oh, dear, I hope that's not racist), they won't have GWB to kick around anymore.

Why, why, why do even conservatives keep voting for incumbents? If we can't get term limits (Congress will never do this voluntarily), then we just can't keep sending these incompetents back to Congress. Gee Whiz, why is this so hard. Better to write in someone than to keep sending these b-stards back!! It's time to wipe the slate clean and start again. ALL of them are on the take and they would rather see their COUNTRY BANKRUPT before giving up their jobs. When even Murtha gets REELECTED, there's something terribly wrong. Write/call your current criminal in office and tell him/her they work for you--NO BAILOUTS TO ANYONE.

We have lost our way. I heard on the radio yesterday that 60% of credit card holders are not even making their minimum payments! Morally bankrupt.

I respect Sessions a lot, but what on Earth makes him think that Bush will pay any attention at all to his letter? Paulson is HIS GUY!

Bush is our generations NERO, sitting idly by while our country has gone half to hell over the last 7 1/2 years. Immigration, NAFTA, Kennedy "education" bill, North American Union, no guts to push for court appointments, no guts to push ANY conservative agenda. If it were not for the Dems nominating Gorebot and Kerry - Bush would be an afterthought of history.

The result of this nonsense, and waste of Republican/Conservative control, will be our childrens children will be paying through their lungs with no hope of ever collecting Social Security from their confiscated income.

A pox on ALL of these bastards.

If they really wanted to turn this economy around and if they're willing to fork over $750,000,000,000, then they should divide that money to each and every TAXPAYER in this country. Direct deposit enough money to pay off their mortgages then allocate $$$ to each taxpayer to buy a new Big 3 automobile, and then give the balance in cash. Mortgage mess SOLVED. Big 3 problem SOLVED (almost - but their business will be booming.) Lower capital gains tax to 5%.

This bailout just proves to me that those with the money and power are completely out of touch with reality. Giving the bailout money to Wall Street is just an example of the tail wagging the dog. Wall Street is simply a barometer of what the PEOPLE are doing.

I can't remember a bigger mess and I can't see leadership on the horizon that can bring us out of this. I honestly don't know where it will end.

Unfortunately, we elect politicians instead of leaders.

Bingo! You win the gold star!

The last leader we had was Ronald Reagan. Before that, Abramham Lincoln. Before that, Jeffereson. Before that, Washington.

4 out of 44. That's a .090 batting average. Three are in the first 16 and of those, two never went to college. Which tells you what about 19th and 20th Century academia?

Alabama is lucky. All I get is Feinstein and Boxer.

I'm with ya, California Red. I have to put up with the Wicked Witch of the West and her evil stepmother, too.

They get elected by the voters in LA and the SF area. If those two idiots had to campaign in rural CA, they'd get laughed out of the state.
