BTW, just about every conservative I know does not identify themselves as Republicans anymore. The Republican party is as complicit with the destruction of our nation as it was founded as the Democrats. They have betrayed the citizens of this country by their joining the liberal Democrats in the corruption of our national governance, rather than fighting for us.

I no long identify with ANY party, and that is a problem that the GOP can't fix by distancing themselves from ideals and standards. If Kathy Parker gets her way, the GOP will go the way of the Whigs in the mid-1800's.

I have never heard of this woman before hearing ABOUT her on a re-airing of a Glenn Beck program this morning. So, after finding and reading what she said about the oogedy-boogedy God "fans" who doomed John McCain and the Republican party during the last election cycle, all I can say is that there is no way that Parker ever WAS a "conservative."

Why? Because her rants are not about "white Christians" (in a party that has become "to the exclusion of others") as she claims, but rather standards. She has a problem with people who hold to standards regardless of the circumstances and times in which we live (hence, where the root word for "conservative" comes). If I believe that our states should decide upon abortion laws as the Constitution says OUGHT to happen, then the problem isn't one of faith, but rather in the rule of law. Therefore, it isn't my faith that Parker has a problem with, but rather my political belief that our Constitution should rule us, not the dictates of the Federal government and bitter old men in black robes.

She has a problem with the people who could not get as excited about John McCain (a toothless worm who holds to no beliefs in anything whatsoever) as 99.9999% of the media got whenever Barack Obama uttered a single syllable, regardless of whether it made any sense or not. Exclusionary "white Christians" did not doom John McCain, and anyone who actually believes this (as Ms. Parker apparently does), then I have some beach-front lots for sale on the "Sea of Tranquility" that are going cheap.

An ignorant (to the point of being imbecilic) populous, an enormous media outpouring of support (to the point of literally carrying Barack Obama across the finish line), AND being the worst Republican presidential candidate since Wendell Willkie doomed John McCain. So, for Parker to simply parrot the liberal leftist propaganda regarding the Republican party being too "white" and "Christian," and that it needs to distance itself from these people displays either rank stupidity on her part, or that she wishes to join in on the dog-pile that will inevitably destroy the GOP.

Regardless of her "reasons," she has declared that she is devoid of any standards whatsoever, and that is the liberal way. Liberals were pro-life forty years ago, and now the very same will vote against preserving the life of a born baby who survived a botched abortion. Liberals always throw away standards and principles if "the times" dictate that they do so. Kathleen Parker is a liberal, and if she has an honest bone in her body, she'll admit it.

You know, that woman reminds me of something my husband says sometimes: "Opinions are like a**holes, everybody has one."

But with her, I can see there is a fine line that can be crossed between having one... and being one!

I agree. I used to like to read her. But, something happened to her during this election. She's not the same writer I used to know.

I do wonder what happened to her. Drugs? Failed marriage? Intimidation? Taking an easy way out?

I did notice her left turn about two months ago, then I stopped reading her and did not attend an event she was to be.

Off topic:
I don't like links that say nothing but link me to another Michelle blog.
Say something or put on rightside and let folks link that way.
On topic:
Am very very tired of all this
infighting by selfdescribed conservatives and am more than happy for any to fight it out. You may or may not be welcome when you are done to be part of the solution.
HINT: Don't hold your breath you look good in blue ;)

Maybe if we don't buy her book, read her column, or listen to her interviews, she'll be thinned from the herd. P.S. I never heard of her before this election either.

Someone else lifted this quote from KP:
"...shifting demographics suggest that the Republican Party — and conservatism with it — eventually will die out unless religion is returned to the privacy of one’s heart where it belongs.”
*emphasis mine

Well, here's another quote for you:
Then Jesus came to them and said, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit...,
Matthew 28:18-19 (NIV)</i
Doesn't sound like we're being told to keep the good news in the privacy of our hearts, does it?

Given the choice of heeding Ms. KP's words or the words of the true Messiah, well, I'll let the words of Joshua speak for me:
"...choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve,...But as for me and my household, we will serve the LORD..."
Joshua 24:14-16

Actually I paid a lot of money for it.... My ex's lawyer taught me that if you throw enough mud on the wall, something eventually has to stick.

Fortunately she ran out of money to buy enough mud before his theory was validated.

Attacking someone for no good reason other than you detect the faint smell of blood in the water and you want to get in on the feeding frenzy is a cowardly act that should be left to sharks and lawyers.

One terror attack under Obambi and the mask will come off. Out will come the jack boots, truncheons, fairness doctrine, assault weapons confiscation, road blocks (show me your papers!), wire tapping, employment black balling...in short he will manifest himself as a tyrant in order to protect us. Even with out a pretext, things are going to get ugly.

Kathleen Parker...wasn't she a 70's porn star? Sheesh...
