GOP bailout stooge to Cavuto: “It’s not your money”
Behold the hubris of an entrenched Republican congressman shilling for the auto bailout. His name is Rep. Joe Knollenberg (R-Michigan) and you’ll be happy to know that he lost his re-election bid.
Attention, Republicans obsessed with “re-branding” the party and crafting appealing messages to win back voters. Here’s your textbook example of how not to act and what not to say if you want to restore credibility to conservatism:

Wow.
Blinding arrogance and hypocrisy. No wonder the GOP is getting wiped out.
This stuff really scares me. If we prop up Detroit and the Union–what will we actually owe. President elect Obama is already indebted to the Unions–and add to that he plans to force his environmental agenda reccession/depression or not. His presidency will have a vested interest in the Big American Car makers not going under in spit of their bailout. Will a President Obama force us to buy these new green cars that haven’t been invented yet. Or maybe I’m just babbling
spit would be spite
If the GOV prints money, then it’s not our money, but theirs. LOL.
They. Just. Dont. Get. It.
No Bailouts! Let them ALL fail and cart the executives and contract negotiators away! Thats why we have bankruptcy courts and the Justice Department to sort the mess out.
Its amazing how much clearer one can think after someone slaps a 2×4 upside your head.
It actually is not your money. At least not anymore!
The death of fiscal conservatism…
No, I think “spit” is quite appropriate in this context…
Oh, and Knollenberg, it is OUR MONEY, you arrogant dolt.
If it’s not mine, then it’s not his either. I’m sure he won’t mind sending us each a ten-spot.
What’s this a$$hole’s phone and address?
Any bets he ends up working for some lobbyist?
What a dumb-bell! Unbelievable!
Again, good riddance Joe.
Awww, crap. Why do I feel so discouraged when I hear this kind of nonsense from representatives of the Party of Reagan? I think the apes truly are taking over the planet. At least they are this country — they’re firmly in control elsewhere, and we’re following them back into the trees.
Trouble is – the bankruptcy courts and the justice dept are filled with the same incompetent folks with socialist views as the rest of the gov’t.
Most bankruptcy judges think that somehow the lender (still being solvent) somehow “owes” the debtor some leniency and that the lender won’t be hurt by the non-payment of the debt. Most dept of justice folks are people there “to do good”. I’d much rather the dept of justice folk would be there to worry about “JUSTICE” rather than their version of “good”.
After he said it wasn’t our money anything else he said was irrelevant. For a republican, even on from Michigan, to say those words is mind-blowing. Someone give him a copy of Davy Crockett’s “Not Yours TO Give”.
I’m glad he’s gone in two months.
Save for a few, the GOP is now officially Democrat-Lite.
They wouldn’t know conservative principles if it hit them in their Ford Navigators.
No wonder both parties like spending like there’s no tomorrow.
Anyone else offended by this story? White Community Adapts to Obama reality. More condescending crap from Reuters on how racist white Americans are coping with the horror of a non-white president.
Strangely, no media outlets were concerned about racism when a black man lost a bid for the senate from Maryland in 2006.
IO guess the country belongs to Congress, as well as all the money.
I guess the sky isn’t falling since Paulson hasn’t spent the $700 B. Lie to me once, shame on you, lie again, shame on me. Let GM go broke, who wants their cars anyway.
No credit to give? That’s just a lie! We’re looking at cars, and none of the dealers has had any trouble getting us approved for a loan.
Hang him out to be flogged.
HEY FOLKS
Does anyone have a list of the Republicans that are keepers? We need to shame the dregs out of the party and help those who are true Constitutionalist.
I’m not aware of anybody having problems getting money, either…not for a house…not for a car, etc. etc. It’s probably helped, also, by the fact that those who SHOULDN’T be borrowing money have likely been scared off by all the commotion.
Another Cavuto epiphany: “We’re Not Paying!”
http://www.foxbusiness.com/video/index.html?playerId=videolandingpage&streamingFormat=FLASH&referralObject=3207499&referralPlaylistId=1292d14d0e3afdcf0b31500afefb92724c08f046
But of course we will. They will get their money by printing it, and we pay it through inflation.
YES. My question is what “racial tensions”?????
“GM has 7 cars that get over 30mpg, Toyota can’t even say that”
uhh, doesn’t this statement tell you something??? it clearly means that mpg is NOT a key deciding factor in car buying. GM not only makes horrendous cars, but they’re overpriced for what you get.
anyway, i’d be for giving GM and the others a bailout, if they’d fire the unions.
I believe that would be Ron Paul.
These days, my only point of reference is the bailout. If you voted for the bailout, I am mad that you were reelected.
PREACH IT, my brother! When you have a company like GM that spends more per car on employee health care benefits than they spend on STEEL, that’s a real problem!
I drive a Honda Odyssey. Made in Alabama by non-union labor. I consider it to be as much of an American car as the Fords, Chevys and Chryslers that come from Michi-stan!
Peggy the Moocher was right….we won’t have to worry about putting gas in our tanks or paying for our mortgages…..
Funny, I was passively listening to this guy yesterday and thought he was a Democrat. Not to mention he was the follow-up to Maxine Waters.
Good riddance to this arrogant clueless SOB. It’s not our money?
Pay attention folks… every single bailout whore in DC has that attitude. This tool just stepped on himself and said it out loud.
No credit available?? That’s funny, just yesterday my spouse and I were approved for an equity mortgage to do some major home renovations….
Not Our Money????? Is this imbecile for real?????? My blood pressure skyrocketed after seeing that video!!!!
Time for true conservatives to support the Libertarian Party.
Yesterday morning, GM sent me an email stating that the bailout they asked for is a “myth”. The email stated it was a “request” to pay back “outstanding loans”.
Why would GM make loans to the feds?
They’ve yet to send me an email offering incentives on a new purchase. Hence, they’re not attempting to move product – they’re only trying to get money to make commercials to tell me to buy the same old products.
So long, GM.
As Vladimire Putin said,”Hang him up by his *****!”
He’s right about one thing…it’s not our money…It’s our grandchildren’s money. This idiot is a classic example of a textbook RINO. Thankfully, he won’t be in Congress anymore.
They’re trying again to scare the American people into thinking that the entire US economy will tank without the US auto industry in Michigan. Filing bankruptcy won’t affect any auto dealer anymore than they’re already been affected. If anything, re-structuring the big three in the long run will help auto dealers. Eventually, they’ll be able to offer more competitive cars to the market.
I do hereby swear this oath:
Should the “big 3″ US car dealerships receive a “loan” from the American people For any amount of money-
I will end my financial, moral, and spiritual support of those industries, their suppliers, their employees, and their retirees. FOREVER
I will not purchase their products, I will not visit their dealerships or stores, I will not accept their ads or incentives, and I will work diligently to ensure that their current and former employees die upon the union sword upon which they have lived by barring them from receiving one penny of government welfare.
If these companies refuse to do their jobs, make the cuts, and take care of themselves; then it is our responsibility as Americans and market consumers to end them.
And this I swear I will do.
Note that most if not all of the Republican incumbents who lost were RINO or borderline. I call this a cleansing…
Not to belabor the point, but Conservatives have been sounding this alarm about lib Republicans for 30 years. The quiche eating country club Republicans have been undermining Conservatism forever. They are dead albatrosses. We need to instruct them that this is not their party anymore. They need to retire or turn Democrat – formally.
“It’s not your money.” That attitude pretty much sums up what’s wrong with Washington across the board.
Well its not really our money since they just printed it.
Good bye former Congressman Knollenberg-you will not be missed. Our 401, IRAs and Capital Gains are not ours either! And that cushy office in the Capitol isn’t yours anymore.
RINO season is now open-but be polite about it and hold the door for them.
OBAMA INAUGURAL COULD BANKRUPT DC
I am sure they will want a bailout too. Perhaps Rep. Joe Knollenberg (R-Michigan) can get a job picking up litter after the parade.
Isn’t that what the crack-head says after he sticks a gun in your face and robs you!
Yes, I also like what he has to say but he doesn’t have that popular appeal that will bring real change. We need to work reforming the Republican party.
Knollenberg was my rep and was taken down by a George Soros-backed Dem. Seeing this, as bad as having another Soros puppet on the Hill may be, this tool didn’t deserve to retain his seat.
Why is the Stupid Party stupid and dying? Because WE, THE PEOPLE, are smart and put principles over politics and refuse to support the losers even though the alternatives are worse. Being the lesser evil is not a positive attribute.
I have to say, I am liking this Neil Cavuto guy more and more lately. “It is my money!”
Was sitting at the dining table, watching CAVUTO yesterday… Wife in kitchen putting away goods from trip to store… Heard “it’s not your money” come out of TV… Both of us, at same time, WHAT DID HE SAY??? Did we hear that right??? Amazing the arrogance of this CLOWN… A REPUBLICAN CLOWN at that… Government creates NOTHING!!! They are there to TAX and make RULES… With attitudes like this, it is no surprise the CRAP SANDWICH MENTALITY is so pervasive in WASHINGTON DC… No wonder the GOVERNMENT SECTOR was the only area to record an increase in employment figures for the last month reported… All other SECTORS had a LOSS of JOBS reported… No wonder INDEED…
I really don’t think things are as they appear.
To me, Rep. Knollenberg’s outrageous statement was meant to drive home to voters the need for Republican majorities in 2010, by underscoring the mindset of the House and senate in general, and the fiscal irresponsibility they represent under complete Democrat control.
Neil seems to have his principles anchored firmly in what’s right.
That idiot soon-to-be ex-congressman is what’s wrong with our government.
And this is an alleged republican saying it is not our money! Imagine how the marxist odumbo and his minions in the jack-ass party think about our money!
Good speech.
If Congress does bail out the automakers, then by gosh we need to get the De Lorean Motor Company back in action. The dire straits we have been in without them…
/sarc
In the NY Slime online today, Mitt Romney has an op-ed piece regarding the Big 3 bailout. Excellent piece, makes a lot of sense.
Mitt is totally against the bailout.
What a shame we got stuck with McSame….

Freaky-deaky scary.
He’s from Michigan and wants money to keep is constituents in jobs.
Funny that he’s pressing for them since they voted him out.
It sure FELT like my money when I wrote that quarterly tax deposit check!
I’m delighted to hear that it’s not my money! After all, if it’s not my money they are giving away, then it’s not my debt they are creating – right?
Sad thing is he has retirement for life thanks to congress.
Can I have some of that ‘not my money’?
then I can pay off part of what is ‘not my debt’ on some ‘not my credit cards’ and ‘not my car payment’.
Unfortunately, this guy is right; it WAS our money but not anymore. Welcome to the USASR, Comrades!
if the Government really wanted to save the Big Three..
they would roll back the cafe standards on all cars and trucks.
force the UAW to sit at the table and re-negotiate their contract and get rid of rubber rooms and other ridiculous perks they get..
and that would be just for starters.
Such are the death throes of a RINO.
He won’t be missed by conservatives, yet his loss will make it harder for BHO to accumulate any evidence of bipartianship.
BTW, where is the obligatory BHO on Affirmative Action? From the looks of his hirings so far I guess his administration is immune to such ideals.
P
Not our money? Just try not paying your taxes and see what brain damage the FEDs can do to you.
And MY money is now worth much less thanks to the government printning more ot it for themselves.
After hearing Maxine Waters defend the bailouts like it was a civil rights issue and then this clown saying “It’s not your money”,I guess that is how the Politburo in Washington tries to justify the big spending…..
“Silence plebes,it’s OUR money to spend as WE see fit…you’ll pay and you’ll LIKE it,PEASANTS!!!”
My paycheck in not my money either. Congress lets me keep a little to make me feel like it is. Is “Tax Free Day” in November yet?
Bill Clinton said;
“all money comes from the government”
Did he intended to say printed, or does he have something else in mind?
MarcoPolo, at 8:08 am, said: “These days, my only point of reference is the bailout. If you voted for the bailout, I am mad that you were reelected.”
My sentiments exactly, Marco. Case in point: Senator Saxby Chambliss, R, Georgia. A lot of us told him if he voted for the Bailout we wouldn’t vote for him. He ignored his constituents. Guess he thought his reelection would be a cake walk, but now he’s in a runoff with the Dem. candidate.
He’s had every big shot Republican in the country attending rallies to support him. I get emails from his campaign org., begging for my help, financial support, and prayers. HAH!!!!!
It’s a shame someone like this can’t be removed from office retroactively. He’s insane. He’s just insane.
My sentiments exactly, but how do we clear away the dead wood if all the entrenched “leaders” at the RNC are RINO and don’t offer to go? Who fires them? Who hires them? Michelle, do you know?
OT, I see where Juan McSame is forming his “exploratory committee” (Snort) to get ready for his next campaign. Somebody in AZ, PLEASE run as a conservative. Joe Arpaio would run away with it, but he says he’s already got his dream job!
OBAMA INAUGURAL COULD BANKRUPT DC
I agree with you for the most part on his appeal, but how did he manage to get the rabid devotion (of young people, esp.) and a million $$ in record time on the internet if he doesn’t have something?
It IS their printing press…isn’t it???
Meanwhile…Sessions, DeMint, Shelby, and Corker are showing themselves worthy of support in this bailout crap.
Well, whose money is it? It isn’t YOUR money, Congressman Moron! Cavuto should have ushered this moron off the set at that point.
Clowns like Knollenberg just got added to my “Pantheon of Ignoramuses” “leading” the GOP to destruction.
They can print money til the cows come home…trillions, even quadrillions of dollars if they want, but it will always inevitably fall on the taxpayers to pick up the tab. It’s going to be interesting(read:scary as hell!)to see how the tax laws will be restructured and enforced when the time comes to pay the bill!
To former fellow republicans:
“You finally did it..you blew it up…Awwwwww damn you, damn you all to hell”
They’re way past spending our money, they’re spending money that doesn’t even exist!
Ron Paul is too close to the 9-11 truther people. He flirts with the Alex Jones crowd. That by itself is my reason to never, ever support him for anything.
Besides that, he’s a little whiny weasel of a man who gets on my nerves whenever he opens his mouth. He may be right on some issues, but as a candidate he was never more that a novelty.
Cavuto is the only guy with guts and class on FOX these days. I’ve watched him for years and think he’s the real deal. He also really likes MM and interviews her a lot!
You had to have a strong stomach to watch yesterday’s show though. First, we had Maxine “We should nationalize the oil companies” Waters on vehemently proclaiming that bailout money should go to “folks in foreclosure who were lured by ‘exotic products.’”
No matter what Cavute said to her, she had her talking point and stuck with it. When he asked her what was to stop responsible homeowners from defaulting on their loans since everyone else is getting a bailout, she angrily replied that that was nonsense and that “people would never game the system like that.” Priceless.
Maxine Waters and most of her district have been making a living gaming the system for all they could get for decades. If you dare call them on it, you get a furious race card thrown at you. See the Fannie/Freddie hearings for how they’ve done it.
The race card’s once-razor-sharp edge is now as dull as a wooden spoon. Maxine Waters is a pimp.
I bought Nissans for more that 15 years and just went back to an American vehicle this year. Even though I dont really want to, maybe I need to seriously think through my decision, get rid of this one and buy Foreign owned-Southern built vehicles.
He actually brought a ton of young people into the GOP by talking about economics. But while he’s not Presidential material, he has shown the ability to bring people in from the left as well as the far right. It would be nice to see somebody, maybe Sanford, to turn that fervor into a viable candidacy.
I think you just have to ignore the truthers. And it’s hard, because they always want to put their own bizarro agenda in the forefront.
But even I don’t agree with every platform plank of the GOP, but I still manage to work alongside people who consider those same planks their key issue.
I got to know a lot of Ron Paulers during the primaries, because in Illinois they were essentially the only active Republican factions. I don’t think they are as horrid as everybody made them out to be.
Foreign policy seemed to be the chasm that couldn’t be gapped, but I think that will change after 4 years of Obama. Some of the young ‘uns will go back to the LP and the Constitution Party, especially if the GOP doesn’t extend an olive branch, but some of them will grow up and stick around too.
We need to email congress
