This survey was a few years ago. Bush has driven these numbers much farther in the liberal direction since then.

Put up or shut up. Given that I am a “scientifically trained” person and have been working with hundreds likewise “trained” over the last 30 years I’m sure both you and your “survey” are full of crap. People who require logic and facts to do their jobs don’t tend to be leftists. That is exactly why artists of all stripes tend to be leftists and exactly why engineers and non-social scientists tend not to be leftists.

Now, look at what we always say about the liberal mindset- they deal with emotions, not facts. Makes more sense now in regards to artists being overwhelmingly liberal, doesn’t it? Obviously, there are many who can separate and still be terrific at their craft. But they are sadly outnumbered, because it is too easy to be lazy about channeling emotions in the proper context.
