As Darth Vader said to Luke Skywalker: "You know it's true."

But you also can check here:

But liberals outnumbered conservatives even among engineering faculty (51 percent to 19 percent) and business faculty (49 percent to 39 percent).

This survey was a few years ago. Bush has driven these numbers much farther in the liberal direction since then.

Surveys of scientifically trained people show them to be overwhelmingly liberal.

Put up or shut up. Given that I am a "scientifically trained" person and have been working with hundreds likewise "trained" over the last 30 years I'm sure both you and your "survey" are full of crap. People who require logic and facts to do their jobs don't tend to be leftists. That is exactly why artists of all stripes tend to be leftists and exactly why engineers and non-social scientists tend not to be leftists.

Another reason many performers are liberal is because in order to be a really great artist (actor, singer, musician) you deal primarily with emotions. You have to "live in the moment" as that character, feel the emotions that inspire you to convey the story, music, etc. The performers we love to watch, who are extremely talented, can do that well. It isn't easy to do, but that's why we like their work. They can commit on that level and be convincing. That said, you have to step back from that line and go back to reality. In my experience, too many actors, performers, etc. do not separate themselves well and don't come back to reality as easily. They think too much about every single emotion they have in real life as a result and put a huge, somewhat unnatural importance on it. Makes for a distroted view of the world, in my opinion.

Now, look at what we always say about the liberal mindset- they deal with emotions, not facts. Makes more sense now in regards to artists being overwhelmingly liberal, doesn't it? Obviously, there are many who can separate and still be terrific at their craft. But they are sadly outnumbered, because it is too easy to be lazy about channeling emotions in the proper context.

This is all just my opinion as an artist who is good at what she does, and is conservative to boot :)

What LGM is NOT saying, is that so-called artistic people in Hollyweird say they are liberal so they can keep working. If they admit they have conservative principles, they can't get an audition, much less a job. So, Save the stupid rhetoric, LGM--you're blowing smoke.
Thank you Ironman for your great post! Thanks, Simon 86, for standing up for vets! And, thanks , DBNKinKY for your analogy. The libs have been comparing Bush to Hitler for years, but they really meant they were talking about LGM.

I was really exicted when I read about this movie a few days ago. Then I found out there is no release scheduled in the Chicago area. I guess I'm also one of those waiting for the DVD.

You know, that could be a very racially dangerous and bigoted concept if some embittered yet charismatic failure, say a house painter, for example, were to get into his twisted head the idea of building a political movement around this idea.

Oh that's right, some Austrian guy already tried it in Germany back in the late thirties!

Any guesses on how that turned out?

LGM,,, has as much proof of his statements as he does as about his claim of daily bombings of abortion mills. He has no joy in his life and is satisfied to full fill his life here on earth and then going into an empty eternity. Folks like him merely support that we are in the last days.

Many years ago, James Woods was shooting a scene for a movie that went straight to video. The scene that he was shooting was filmed in and municipal city hall building near where I worked at the time. So I walked over and eavesdropped on Mr. Woods between takes. He was telling someone about what a moron Spike Lee is and how Mr. Lee engaged in the same prejudices that Lee always accuses other of. Mr. Woods did not pull any punches in his description of Lee. I have liked Mr. Woods ever since that date.

Don't forget Blaise Pascal, who issued his challenge that: "If there is no God, he benefited in that he lived a better life, and lived in hope. If there is a God, he'll go to Heaven."

In the arts, of course, there's William Shakespear, devout Christian.
Handel, who wrote his classic, The Messiah.
Most country music stars are Christian and Conserative.
