Seems to be a little premature to designate a school in honor of someone who has yet to prove himself capable of anything other than winning an election. I wonder how many “Jimmy Carter Elementary Schools” there are out there?

Naming a children’s school after one of the most pro-abortion politicians in the country is like naming a woman’s college after a serial rapist.

I don’t know about that. Remember the little darlings singing the “Ode to Obama,” or the “young men of color” stomping and shouting how “Obama inspired me…?” Sounded demented to me.
As an aside, I wonder where the parents of the “young men of color” were and why they didn’t inspire their children?

Are you kidding? 99.9% of every politician in this country has crap named after themselves. They THRIVE on that crap - makes them feel important, like being a lawyer of politician itself does. Nothing but self-aggrandizing, egomaniacal BS. In my area, the current Town Supervisor has her name on every park entry sign, every garbage truck (fitting though it is), every town vehicle of any sort, as does the County Executive. There are freaking garbage cans on our streets with all the politicians names on the damned things!
These people, and those like them (PTA members, whatever) NEED to have a title or their name on something.

And speaking as a former high-school office aide, sometimes its who you know that can count you present even when you’re not there.
They’ll be renaming it in 4 years out of embarrassment.
As a conservative, I suprize both my conservative and liberal friends when I tell them that I greatly admired Lyndon B. Johnson as president. I know most people on both sides of the political spectrum are not too fond of LBJ. I have my reasons but my main question here is does anyone know of a LBJ high school, middle school, junior high or elementary school named after the 36th president of the USA? I live in Eastern Washington and I don’t know of any schools anywhere named after LBJ. I just wondered if any here know of any.
Yes, bad form on the part of the school. There are standards and acceptable practices. If PE Obama had given the school money, maybe then it would have been OK.
Then again the US Navy has rules about naming it’s ships after living people, yet it named a ship after a living person, Adm Rickover. We have rules about postage stamps. Yet, that was violated, too. I suppose rules were made to be broken.
OH, it was that 9/11 stamp of the three fire firefighters raising the Flag.

If I had kids who went there, I would have to pull them out just on principle. Reason #6543 to homeschool.
Whatever happened to honoring someone’s accomplishments vice our impression/adoration of them? Any fool can get elected to any position, just as any fool can “have a baby” or get hired for a job, but that doesn’t mean they’ll be worth a bean in any of those capacities.
The school mascot is the Weathermen.
I am beyond disgusted by this school name change. they are changing it from being named after a man who was a physician, was the last surviving member of his college class of 1863, had helped the wounded and dying soldiers during the Civil War, had contributed greatly to the town of Hempstead, had served on the School Council for many, many years, changing it to be named after someone who has done NOTHING but basically be born and then, questionably as to where. Sorry, but Obama has done NOTHING but be born and buy and intimidate his way into the White house. Even that is in question as he has yet to prove his own residency status, and has yet to prove that he was even born in this country.
And before the trolls start falling all over themselves, a ‘Certificate of Live Birth” is NOT the same thing as a certified Birth Certificate. He has NEVER shown that and, in fact, has gone through great pains to have it sealed, forbidding ANYONE from seeing it. Gee…that doesn’t look TOO suspicious now does it?
Anyway, here is my take on what the blackboard will look like soon, as the School Board voted to have the change occur IMMEDIATELY.
. Where’s the ACLU on this matter. Being that 52% think he is the messiah, the anointed one, a god. Would this not put this school in violation of the separation of Church and State clause.
I can hardley wait until the “Classroom Corps” show up and drag well loved teachers and principals away to re-education camps for not teaching history or any course the correct way. One of the major entities of the marxist mantra is education. Thats why you saw Ayers and his comrades all in the teaching profession. Thats why most of our hgher education schools are crammed with liberal marxists brainwashing our kids. I know this is true because I have seen the results. They have a plan and its just beginning to see light.
