Saw the 60 minutes piece. Very unlike me, the TV was just on. But I did watch this part.
Hmm. No idea what you’re talking about. Is there a link?
I dont think the vid is working??? (It is possible that this is a user error)
Give it a moment to load, it is rather slow.
Wow, that is beautiful.
Not a hit on Mrs Malkin or this kid, but I just got an image of rome burning and nero.
Video worked fine for me.
Obviously a vary talented young man! What beautiful music.
And to think that this is a birth that those on the left would feel should never have happened.
I am in total awe…. next time something doesn’t go my way…. this will be in my head….. amazing!…. thank you, Michelle.
Disable AdBlockPlus for the site to get stuff to play…
And it’s worth it to see this story.
Wow, that’s awesome. What a terrific kid, and Mom…
The Lord works in mysterious ways.
God-given talent.
But then again, everything is God-given.
Praise God that we have children like that to bring joy and glorify Him.
Pretty cool.
My thoughts exactly mo
The thing about this that really hits home is that this boy’s talents would never have been known if the liberals would have had their way.
Is this woman “irresponsible” for bringing this blind autistic boy into the world knowing full well that he would have serious disabilities? If the Left’s reaction to Baby Trig is any indication, this woman would be branded a criminal.
Instead, she is not only a happy mother of a nice young boy, but the proud mother of a prodigy - and that’s the way it ought to be.

Even as scientists try to unlock the mystery of autistic savants, it is useful to remember that Beethoven himself came from a highly dysfunctional family riddled with disease and alcoholism. He could very well have been aborted had modern sensibilities prevailed.
Lets hear it for another women with values. Joy comes to us in many ways.
GOD bless you mom.
With all of the utter nonsense that the media feeds us about the irrelevant matters that swirl inside Barack Obama’s poisoned mind, it is SO refreshing to see a story about the victory of the human spirit over physical difficulty.
Regarding Beethoven, he was indeed a musical genius as a performer and composer, yet was mentally incapable of performing mathematics apart from addition. The mind is still a deep mystery, yet it is that which is still mysterious that gives life much that is worth living.
Thank you Michelle, this is wonderful! Reminds me of Leslie Lemke. His is a beautiful story too of a baby who couldn’t even swallow, yet with an extraordinary foster mother became a piano virtuoso. You can read about him HERE.
Part of his story. (I can’t find my old link, so here’s wiki.)

Life is a gift and noone should be given up on. What an ispiring story!
Not trying to threadjack, but just show how miracles can happen with children who aren’t given up on!
Awesome!!!
What a wonderful, heart warming story…we are blessed to have the opportunity to hear this young man play. My highest praise for his mother and the love she has for her child is absolutely wonderful.
I forgive Harry for a moment for all his left wing jerkness before November 4.
wow. How incredible. God is good. And Rex’s mother seems like such a loving mom. I need to read that book.
“…choose life…” Deut. 30:19
What a gift this young man has, and what a gift he is to his loving mother and to all who can hear his beautiful music. Michelle, thank you for sharing this inspiring story. My 6-year-old and I are watching it together.
Appropos to nothing: I would LOVE to tango to that!! I’ve been dancing the Argentine tango for a while now and that song would be incredible to dance to.
What an amazing young man and an amazing mom! And what an incredible story.
From “Beyond the Fringe”, Dudley Moore’s improvisation on the “Colonel Bogey” March in the style of Beethoven: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GazlqD4mLvw
Dear Michelle,
Kumusta Po’ Michelle!
Thankyou for that uplifting story! I really needed it.
The Base Commander has closd net access to all non-essentials frm all base computers. You’d be surprisd at the following you have here. The network guys hav setup a connection to a proxy & run it all on the QT. Still, there’s not enough access to go around & bootleg DVDs of your TV appearences, & the daily Limbaugh, Hannty, & Beck are hot items amongst Conservs here.
I’m here this Thanksgiving, 1/2 a world away frm my family, counting myself lucky: I’m only TDY & my current actual posting is near my Dad & the rest of our family.
The local LDS Ward has organized Thanksgiving Diners for us (incl. Non-LDS) at members’ houses… this even though *Our* (the US’s) Thanksgiving is somewhat unfamiliar to them.
When I spoke to my sponsor family, Mrs Chen said: “We are thankful for the Savior, too! It is good that America has a day to thank Him for all he’s blessed your people with!”
I thought to correct her, to tell her something was missed in translation. Her English isn’t very strong, nor is my command of the nuances of her language as good as I have of Mandarin. Still, I considered telling her that Thanksgiving no longer means that in the US. In the end, I’ve left things alone. It doesn’t really matter that *we* have changd, because most of us haven’t, we’ve just been fed lies. People like you are The Watchmen, awakening those sleeping to the hordes trying to destroy Western Civ.
ThankYou Michelle for your work! I knw you’re targeted for destruction. You may not know it, but you are a role model. You are an example in private life of what Mrs. Palin is in public life. A person, not always right, but *always honest & genuine*. We are, all of us. human & so do err. Most people let the fear of being wrong freeze their action. You don’t. When you are wrong you just correct it and go on.
PDA buffer getting low. Cut this to the essentals-hope its intelligible.
Happy Thanksgiving! God Bless!
Oops! That was supposed to be posted in the “Giving thanks for self-reliant Americans” thread!
Sorry!
Rex Rocks! And yet, here I sit with all my faculties, such as they are, and I can’t play shite! One door closes, another opens. I ponder if we’ll even have any special people like Rex, to bring us quiet joy, when after a couple more generations of women have chosen other than life, for their unborn children.
The kid’s got talent, that’s obvious. But it ain’t “Sleigh Ride!” (Now those were the days…)
This is way off topic (like the post of Dudley Moore playing the “Colonel Bogey” March in a style reminiscent of Beethoven), but I love that sort of comedic material.
It reminded me of something Peter Schickele (of PDQ Bach fame) did in a recording that parodied a radio format (Double-U-Double-O-F “WOOF” out of the University of Southern North Dakota at Hoople) that sang the praises of the lowliest of Baroque composers (like P.D.Q. Bach), but took every opportunity to render Beethoven as a minor contributor to the musical repertoire.
This:
is probably the most famous bit that Professor (of Musicology at the University of Southern North Dakota at Hoople) Schickele did which skewers some of the ostentatiousness of works such as Beethoven’s 5th Symphony, yet it’s all done in MUCH fun!
My favorite bit: “Now the Oboe is holding the note too long…WAIT…HE’S…HE’S PLAYING A CADENZA!!! HE THINKS IT’S AN OBOE CONCERTO!!! HE MUST BE OUT OF HIS MIND!!!”
When I feel like the world is just picking on me and totally unfair I hope I remember this story and get over myself!
What an amazing story.
Thanks, T-bird. Being relatively new to the site, I hadn’t seen this. I nearly wet myself!
