Thanks, T-bird. Being relatively new to the site, I hadn't seen this. I nearly wet myself!

This is way off topic (like the post of Dudley Moore playing the "Colonel Bogey" March in a style reminiscent of Beethoven), but I love that sort of comedic material.

It reminded me of something Peter Schickele (of PDQ Bach fame) did in a recording that parodied a radio format (Double-U-Double-O-F "WOOF" out of the University of Southern North Dakota at Hoople) that sang the praises of the lowliest of Baroque composers (like P.D.Q. Bach), but took every opportunity to render Beethoven as a minor contributor to the musical repertoire.

This:
is probably the most famous bit that Professor (of Musicology at the University of Southern North Dakota at Hoople) Schickele did which skewers some of the ostentatiousness of works such as Beethoven's 5th Symphony, yet it's all done in MUCH fun!

My favorite bit: "Now the Oboe is holding the note too long...WAIT...HE'S...HE'S PLAYING A CADENZA!!! HE THINKS IT'S AN OBOE CONCERTO!!! HE MUST BE OUT OF HIS MIND!!!"

Rex Rocks! And yet, here I sit with all my faculties, such as they are, and I can't play shite! One door closes, another opens. I ponder if we'll even have any special people like Rex, to bring us quiet joy, when after a couple more generations of women have chosen other than life, for their unborn children.

Dear Michelle,
Kumusta Po' Michelle!
Thankyou for that uplifting story! I really needed it.

The Base Commander has closd net access to all non-essentials frm all base computers. You'd be surprisd at the following you have here. The network guys hav setup a connection to a proxy & run it all on the QT. Still, there's not enough access to go around & bootleg DVDs of your TV appearences, & the daily Limbaugh, Hannty, & Beck are hot items amongst Conservs here.

I'm here this Thanksgiving, 1/2 a world away frm my family, counting myself lucky: I'm only TDY & my current actual posting is near my Dad & the rest of our family.

The local LDS Ward has organized Thanksgiving Diners for us (incl. Non-LDS) at members' houses... this even though *Our* (the US's) Thanksgiving is somewhat unfamiliar to them.

When I spoke to my sponsor family, Mrs Chen said: "We are thankful for the Savior, too! It is good that America has a day to thank Him for all he's blessed your people with!"

I thought to correct her, to tell her something was missed in translation. Her English isn't very strong, nor is my command of the nuances of her language as good as I have of Mandarin. Still, I considered telling her that Thanksgiving no longer means that in the US. In the end, I've left things alone. It doesn't really matter that *we* have changd, because most of us haven't, we've just been fed lies. People like you are The Watchmen, awakening those sleeping to the hordes trying to destroy Western Civ.

ThankYou Michelle for your work! I knw you're targeted for destruction. You may not know it, but you are a role model. You are an example in private life of what Mrs. Palin is in public life. A person, not always right, but *always honest & genuine*. We are, all of us. human & so do err. Most people let the fear of being wrong freeze their action. You don't. When you are wrong you just correct it and go on.

PDA buffer getting low. Cut this to the essentals-hope its intelligible.

Happy Thanksgiving! God Bless!

Appropos to nothing: I would LOVE to tango to that!! I've been dancing the Argentine tango for a while now and that song would be incredible to dance to.

What an amazing young man and an amazing mom! And what an incredible story.

What a gift this young man has, and what a gift he is to his loving mother and to all who can hear his beautiful music. Michelle, thank you for sharing this inspiring story. My 6-year-old and I are watching it together.
