A BDS Christmas: Artist creates crazy impeachment ornament Updated
I occasionally get hate mail written in the teeniest, tiniest scrawl that will go on and on for pages. I’m always fascinated by the painstaking script — and the amount of time that must have gone into working out whatever strange pathologies gripped the writer.
I was reminded of those bizarre letters when I took a look at the Bush Derangement Syndrome-decorated Christmas ornament that a Seattle artist created this season.

When Deborah Lawrence got the invitation from the White House, the Seattle-based artist decided to make a lefty political statement.
But she never expected it would hang on the official Christmas tree.
Laura Bush asked members of Congress to pick local painters to decorate ornaments for this year’s 20-foot Fraser fir in the Blue Room. The globes (to be unveiled by the first lady tomorrow) are supposed to showcase something special about each congressional district. Washington state’s Rep. Jim McDermott contacted a local arts organization, which asked Lawrence, a collage artist, to create the local entry.
“I was at first nauseated, then realized it was an opportunity,” said Lawrence, 55, who frequently combines politics and satire in her work and saw this as the perfect way “to highlight Jim McDermott because he’s a hero of mine.”
The nine-inch ball is covered with swirly red and white stripes — and, in tiny glued-on text, salutes the Democratic congressman’s support for a resolution to impeach President Bush. (Also showcased: Washington state’s 1919 labor strike, its suffrage movement and the violent anti-World Trade Organization riots of 1999.) Lawrence sent it off to D.C. in September and was very surprised it was accepted for the tree — and that she was invited to this afternoon’s White House reception for the artists, which she flew to D.C. to attend.
“Apparently, they didn’t read it — or Laura Bush is more progressive than I believed,” Lawrence told us.
No, just more compassionate towards those in need of therapy.

P.S. I’m sure Ms. Lawrence will be a shoo-in for an Obama NEA grant and a MacArthur Genius Award.

Update: Looks like the impeachment ornament won’t have a place on the White House Christmas tree. Aw.

A Christmas tree in the White House is not the place for such a partisan statement. While the “artist” thinks she’s pulled something over on the Bushes, she is really going to end up with the disgust of anyone with a sense of manners and decency–i.e., most of the country.
Mrs. Bush is showing class, which is something the wackos don’t understand.
Not only yes, but they are pushing for criminal charges to be filed against Bush & Cheney after they leave office!
I read in a local paper (Quincy, Ma.) that an artist was chosen to participate in the same program.
She featured an oceanscape with a lighthouse, boats and sand dunes. You know, regional flavor!
This nut in Seattle wasted a great opportunity to represent her part of the country in probably the least political thing to ever come out of D.C. Just to make a point that is made every evening on CBS, NBC and ABC.
I hope she chokes on one of the watercress sandwiches they serve at these soirees.

I’m not suprised that a moonbat artist would throw away an opportunity to show some class in order to make statement (I hate Bush!) What suprises me are the comments by the WaPo readers. Most appear to be even more rabid and delusional than the artist. BDS is getting worse as Bush prepares to exit and will be around for a long time to come.
I’ll give them an ornament that, on one side, celebrates Jesus Christ, the Reason For The Season, and on the other has a picture of Sarah Palin in the Oval Office with 2012 under it.
Saturday afternoon I went to a baby shower at a relative’s house who lives far outside the city of Milwaukee. My mom drove, and since she doesn’t drive the freeway, the route she took passed a big mall, and on the corner of one of the busiest intersections in Milwaukee, there were four anti-Bush, anti-war protesters on the corner, still calling to impeach Bush.
Had the light not turned green, I was tempted to roll down my window and yell, “You’ve only got a month and a half left to suffer, oh you downtrodden peaceniks!”
Some of her other famous works include a silhouette of a turkey made from a tracing of her hand and plaster paperweight featuring the imprint of her hand.

Why would any Republican solicit work from a Seattle based artist. Seattle is full of left-winged loony toons. I have relatives up there that are “artists.” Guess, poor Mrs. Bush had no idea that Seattle is full of hateful libs.
Oh, how “avant garde” and “brave” of her. Not going against the grain of most “artistes” at all. I just hope she won’t suffer any consequences to her art “career” because of this.

Someone makes something like that for Obama they’ll get arrested and called a racist. Make a dummy and hang it or such and your grass. Do it of Bush and he just ignores it, or so it seems. I haven’t recalled anyone gatting arrested for any of the “art” the made, meanwhile someone hanged an Obama doll from a tree and they get a FBI investigation.

seattle, like nearly every other city/state bordering or near caleeefornia is suffering from the migration of fruits and nuts out of that state. too bad they can’t just stay in california, but pretty soon the entire western u.s. with the possible exception of utah, will be taken over by these dirtbags. last time i was in seattle, a Homeless Person came up and demanded i give him a dollar. i told him to piss-off, and he proceeded to follow me for 1/2 an hour while i smelled his essence of several day old crap in his pants and bo that would kill lesser humans.
I was stationed up in the Pacific Northwet (no, not a misspelling) back in the early ’90s, just as all the discontented ex-hippies were migrating from Califrutti up to the Puget Sound area. Property values skyrocketed while decency nosedived.

UPDATE: The White House is now announcing that the ornament will NOT be on display. Thank God… tolerance is for those who share your respect. This artist has no respect for the President of the United States nor for the Christmas Holy Day. In her case, Vigilance is more appropriate than Tolerance.
The First Lady probably just felt it was the perfect representation of the district that elected McDermott.
If he does that, he opens the door for every future President and their administration to basically commit murder, since he/she can give a blanket pardon before leaving office.
I would be very surprised if Congress spent much time on this with all the other things that need attention. There will be a hearings and a report, like the 9/11 report, assigning blame but that will be about it.

Mrs. Bush could have left the ornament on the tree, just with all the other ugly ornaments on the back of the tree, close to the bottom and on an inner branch.

When I first read this story, I thought how classy Laura Bush was to even entertain the idea of allowing this juvenile delinquent’s idea of “art” to grace the White House Christmas tree.
