Team Obama now pimping lapel pins

By Michelle Malkin  •  December 2, 2008 10:56 PM

“Obama for America,” the permanent fund-raising entity for The Cult, sent out yet another solicitation this evening — this time for a “limited edition” holiday pin.

Nope, it’s not made out of rhodium.

The pitch:

Make a Donation Today and Get Your Official Obama Pin

This holiday season, celebrate our historic victory with a limited edition Obama lapel pin. Your donation will support the Democratic National Committee and help recover the enormous resources they committed to this campaign.

If you’d like more than one pin, you will need to complete this form for each one you’d like to purchase. Simply indicate whether the shipping address is different from your billing address.

Make your donation of $15 or more by December 15th and your lapel pin will be delivered by December 24th.

Maybe they could hawk them in a special package with reproductions of those crazy impeachment ornaments.

The constant hawking of Obama gear is getting out of control. Have you seen the plates? Tacky!

As for Obama lapel pins, I prefer this one from Flip Pidot.

OK, this site will never have anything positive to say about Obama. But when the negative things are this stupid, Obama must be doing pretty well.

Oh, you mean like getting all over a Vice Presidential candidate’s posterior for how much money was spent on her wardrobe as if that meant a maddog thing? Or creating a campaign ad criticizing a Presidential candidate because he doesn’t send email (which turned out not to be true)?

MARION, Ala. (AP) – A small central Alabama county whose mainly black residents gave Barack Obama more than 70 percent of the vote on Election Day has created an annual holiday in honor of the president-elect.
The Perry County Commission voted 4 to 1 to observe the second Monday in November as “The Barack Obama Day.” County offices will close and its roughly 40 workers will get a paid holiday.

These are the same people buying plates and pins. Give them their day, they will pay dearly for it sooner or later.

Oh, lgm — don’t forget that it was Obama and ONLY Obama who made lapel pins a big deal in the first place. It was ONLY Obama who told an Iowa TV station in October 2007 that he would not wear a lapel pin with the Stars & Stripes on it.

An Iowa reporter noticed he was not wearing the flag pin, and remarked, “You don’t have the American flag pin on. Is that a fashion statement? Those have been on politicians since Sept. 12, 2001.”

    His reply, verbatim:

“You know, the truth is that right after 9/11, I had a pin. Shortly after 9/11, particularly because as we’re talking about the Iraq War, that became a substitute for I think true patriotism, which is speaking out on issues that are of importance to our national security, I decided I won’t wear that pin on my chest. Instead, I’m going to try to tell the American people what I believe will make this country great, and hopefully that will be a testimony to my patriotism.”

He also was quoted at the time as saying:

“My attitude is that I’m less concerned with what you’re wearing on you lapel than what’s in your heart. You show your patriotism by how you treat your fellow Americans, especially those ones who serve.”

Of course, after his “bitter clingers” remark about rural Pennsylvanians was revealed, and he started losing primaries to Hillary late in the game, he suddenly started wearing one again, suggesting it was out of gratitude to a disabled veteran. Saith The One to a roomful of applause: “I think I’ll put this one on. It means a lot coming from you.”

(Anything contradictory about those two positions on the flag pin, MSM? Anybody? Bueller? OK, issue settled, let’s move on.)

Now, he’s got his own brand of lapel pin. So we now know what he thinks “will make this country great” — him.

    Oops!

In fact, if left to his own devices, Obama would probably have returned to Hawaii once his Senate term had ended to peddle his law services as an ambulance chaser in a second floor office located in some rundown neighborhood in Hawaii.

Hawaii: a state so nice, I mistakenly named it twice – oh well!

This entire Odumbo thing is a farce and we’re all going to pay dearly… all of us, one way or another.

Little off topic…if interested in the original founding of this great country the History channel is rerunning “The American Revolution” it’s a great series, watched it twice so far, it was restarted again last nite. This country was divided then and still is. Maybe that’s how it works so well.
