Capitol Hill hygiene

One more comment on Harry Reid’s reeking insult of tourists visiting Washington, D.C.:
Can you imagine the uproar if he had complained about the stench from D.C.’s homegrown homeless population?

I’m just trying to imagine the outrage from the left if someone like, say, Sarah Palin had said DC tourists stink.
My family is planning a trip to the DC area in May for my Dad’s Navy reunion. I promise, Mr. Reid, that I’ll bring my deodorant and body spray.
I guess HARRY never did any type of real and meaningful work in his life either… What a waste of tax payers money and time this guy has turned into… But, not to worry he still has his CLEAN HANDS in the COOKIE JAR to be sure…
The only thing that stinks in DC are the politicians.
I’m from Nevada, and this tool just constantly embarasses me and my state.
“NO to Reid in 2010″
Gov. Gibbons is planning on okaying some coal fired plants in Northern Nevada, power for Utah, jobs for Nevada, Harry says no.
Oil Shale, Harry says no.
Drill, Harry says no.
Smell, Harry says no.
Surge, no.
Win, no.
He is just hated here, and he knows it so the next two years he will pump so much pork into Nevada.
tool, yes.
Harry is just another senile elected official who will serve till he dies.
A few years ago, The Las Vegas Sun did a devastating investigative series on how Harry Reid was cut into some incredibly sleazy land deals that made him a very rich man. Interesting that the New York Times has no interest in doing a big investigation into Reid yet it was obsessed with McCain’s alleged relationship with a lobbyist.
That is suprising as I just moved here and the Sun would endorse Satan if he has a (D) after his name
Dingy Harry is up for re-election in two years. I am going to work on helping his Republican opponent (whoever that may be) even though I live in CA. I’ve had it with that moron.
He’s a disgrace to the Senate and to all Americans. He has raised tons of money, but it can be done. Remember what happened to Daschle in 2004.
I honestly can’t fathom how Reid still has his seat. Let’s hope he goes the way of Daschle.
Good night folks.
From one of the ” common people in those days suffered greatly”; “behavior that branded him as common”; “his square plebeian nose”; “a vulgar and objectionable person”; “the unwashed masses”
You libs gotta be proud of your leaders…what’s the approval rating now of the democrapic controlled congress 17%?
You got that right, Soap. Most people in this country will agree with you, except their own congressmen, of course. That’s why their approval rating is so low, yet, the losers still get elected.
Reid and his ilk serve Satan.
This isn’t a partisan thing either.
Harry Reid, elitist scum. That has a good ring to it.
Term limits, term limits, term limits!
That is the best way I can think of to keep these idiots from amassing the power to destroy our lives.
Supposedly, Harry Reid, Mitt Romney, and I share the same faith. I don’t believe Harry actually practices it, though. Funny how Harry never takes grief about it the way Mittens did.
I just might have to spend some time in Nevada working for his opponent. Las Vegas is a five hour drive from here and well worth it to be rid of this man.
Pelosi claims to be a Catholic and still promotes abortion. What a bunch of hypocrites.
Soap, yes
Deodorant, yes.
Whomever runs against Dingy should have that line plastered on every campaign they put out.
I don’t know why you are all so upset at DH. He only says what most on “The Hill” think. Wouldn’t you rather he be honest in his condescension than hid it behind a pasted-on smile and flowery words like someone we all know from the “Office of the President Elect”?
There is a saying that applies to Harry Reid. “Don’t hold your f_rts in because they will travel up your spine into your brain and cause sh_tty ideas.” This guy is such an embarrassment to America.
Who says “Dobby the House Elve” is the epitome of personal hygene? From where I sit, he stinks to high heaven!
s/b hygiene
Had Reid said, “You can smell all the diseases coming from the gay and lesbian community when they visit”. Then there would be an riot.
This blog has gone downhill since the election. This post is pathetic. Having a fit — yet a second time — over a casual out of context phrase.
Did you see Karl Rove on Fox the other day? He is starting a campaign to rebuild the Bush approval ratings (like they’ve been doing for Reagan for the past 25 years). He said “Bush is far from the worst President ever.”
So, put the phrase in its original context for us to show us how wrong we all are.
I’ve been to Washington, D.C. numerous times. Other than politicians and K Street, what really stinks are the ridiculously high prices and the traffic flow. Really? Circles?
Oh, and it stinks that the uppity people in Georgetown didn’t want a METRO line. Gottah keep the stinky riff-raff out!
lgm-
Rove undoubtedly remembers Carter.
Smelly Cat, Smelly Cat
So a senator not wanting to be bothered by the “little” people doesn’t bother you. Fine.
nobody has had to rebuild reagan’s approval rating. he would beat barack and clinton combined, easily.
and all your left-wing lies and stupidity won’t change that sonny!
So why bother checking in at all, Legume? See ya!
Oh, yeah, say “hi” to the Kos Kids.
I wondered when lgm et al would show up. I was just thinking that when I ran across his comment.
Isn’t it funny how he managed to get a Bush-bash in?
Where’s nyk? mj? Rusty?
They’re probably covering their assets, if any. If not, they’re just waiting for their handout like the rest.
Reid is an idiot. What a shocker. NOT!
Not so far from the worst, but it’s easy to name six worse presidents without breathing hard: Jimmy Carter, Richard Nixon, James Buchanan, Warren Harding, Andrew Johnson, and Woodrow Wilson.
right4life said (#31):
Clinton left office with higher approval ratings than Reagan. The Clinton scandal — Lewinski — is dwarfed by the Reagan scandal — Iran Contra - in which the President directed his staff to violate US law, sell arms to Iran, and send the funds to Central American terrorists.
Harry Reid has all but destroyed the nuclear waste repository here in Nevada. As a result, no new nuclear power plants can be built because the waste has nowhere to go. The Department of Energy is being sued by many existing nuclear power plants as they are contracted with DoE to move the waste to Nevada. The money to fight the lawsuits and pay the judgments comes from your tax dollars folks. Reid is bought and paid for by the environmentalist groups that would have us all living in the Stone Age if they can get away with it. If Nevada re-elects this corrupt disgrace of a politician again then they deserve him.
Ah, yes, nuclear power… another great technology blocked by the Luddite Democrats.
So what?! For past presidents it’s not about approval ratings, it’s about legacies! Between Presidents Reagan and Clinton, whose legacy is seen by all credible historians as remarkable and monumental? (Hint: it ain’t Clinton’s!)
And as I’ve said previously, a lotta good those “high” approval ratings did Hillary during the Dem primaries, or Clinton’s legacy (which is still lackluster and indeterminant)!
Non-issue! Clinton-Lewinski was proven and he impeached; Iran-Contra was baseless partisanship, a.k.a, sour grapes, and largely unprovable as far as President Reagan’s direct involvement!
I agree with FN - why don’t you enlighten us, LGM, by putting the phrase IN CONTEXT?
Because then his defense of it would completely fall apart?
It’s like the left-wing “taken out of context” defense of Jeremiah Wright. In what possible context is “Gawd-Damm Amerikkka” not offensive to people of normal sensibilities?
Harry’s just taking a page from the Murtha playbook. The best way to get re-elected is to insult the people and call them names. Somehow, it works.
lgm cannot put it ‘in context’ for you….it would mean shining a light up his arse.
The “context” argument is liberal-retard code for “pretend what I/he said meant something other than what it plainly means”. Most of them, like lgm, probably don’t even really grasp the concept. It’s a childish little game they play, though, in a sort of monkey-see-monkey-do fashion: they see their hero midstream media idols doing it, and they think it will work, overlooking (or again not grasping) the fact that they’re not on an echo-chamber TV “news” program.
Which is why Reagan won re-election in a landslide 49-state victory, and Clinton didn’t receive half the popular vote when he was re-elected…
P.S. Reagan didn’t order the Iran-Contra affair, some of his upstart staff who THOUGHT they knew what he wanted proceeded with a plan that they thought would work (remember Ollie North? Great American Patriot, BTW). Even if he knew and blessed it, what’s your point?
lgm, once again, I say, Prove IT!
Left-Libs hated Reagan for supporting the contras and deposing their belove Sandinistas. Because, of course, the Sanidinistas were enemies of America, freedom, and capitalism… so, naturally, to the left, they were the “good guys.”
Yes, in the libs “bizarro world” that would make sense. Thank God for freedom-loving patriots like Reagan and North. The libs would thank them, too, if they knew what was good for them.
LGM and his ilk really believe that today’s politicians (especially dems)really “care” about Americans and what they think–they truly live in a “bizarro world” as MtsEdge said. They ridicule and demean America and Americans (used to do it behind closed doors), but now it’s okay to do it openly. A pox on all of them!
LGM–try reading up on the Sandinistas–as Socky #45 outlined for you.
No, its pretty much the same as it was before all the hit-and-run posters showed up during the election.
I mentioned it several times over the last few months that we would return to this level of discourse once everyone stopped running on adrenaline.
This is how the US is in the mess that it is. Eveyone goes back to their daily business thinking the world is fine, and the politicians continue to screw us daily while we arent watching their every move.
Ditto. Figuratively speaking, of course.
Reagan didn’t govern based on polls, Clinton did. Following popular opinion is easy.
I guess we must wait and see how Obama “rules.”
Sen. Reid doesn’t read my emails anymore. Can someone tell him it isn’t the tourists causing that smell, it’s the lobbyist, lawyers, career bureaucrats, and…um, let me see. I knew the other one just a minute ago…
Oh yeah! And POLITICIANS!
seriously lauaghable!! Herr KLINTON never won over 50% of the vote…Reagan won one of the biggest landslides in history!
and who was impeached for which scandal??? hmmmm??
duhhhhhhh
You mean no one is using the ritual foot baths? Or did they just forget to install them?
Oh that’s right! Don’t forget to wash feet. This is for people who have used stones instead of toilet paper, and have used the airplane lavatory instead of the commode.
I have both incidents on record.
