It continues to amaze me what constitutes "experience" for job when one Democrat wants one for another Democrat. Nothing could illustrate this better than Kennedy in New York and Franken in Minnisota.

These same people could find "NOTHING" that would qualify Palin for anything but "mother", and to many she had failed in this "job". She nor her daughter ABORTED". A total failure and the principle reason she was so viciously attacked.

as in Obama can’t really offer him the presidency or the vice presidency, now can he?

Oh, brother.

Why wouldn't Obama have picked Richardson as his running mate? He broke ties w/his buddies the Clintons to support Obama. Instead he picks Biden, who spent a lot of time during his (lame) campaign mouthing off about what a lightweight Obama was. (My theory is that Biden is far less of a threat to Obama's "image" than a person of substance such as Bill Richardson would be.)

Obama could have offered Richardson SoS, which Richardson wanted, esp. since he has far more diplomatic experience than Hillary's imagination permits her.

Chap, this is laughable. They were “taken”, like “first come, first served”?

No, as in Obama can't really offer him the presidency or the vice presidency, now can he? After that it seems cabinet positions are the next best thing, so I can't understand why anyone would say its a consolation.

If you want to get into ranking the respective cabinet postions then fine, but I would consider them all generall on par.

started the rumor that Obama attended a jihadist madrassa

Funny, even before Obamalamadingdong was a household name, a friend who's retired from "those shadowy places in gubmint" told me about this. But unlike FOX, in describing the madrassa, he used the words "hard core."

Obama unconvincingly argued that Richardson was the best person for the job, citing his, um, “diplomatic experience” (?) and executive experience as governor.

Would his "diplomatic experience" be "hey, my state borders Mexico! Heck, it even has the word 'Mexico' in the name of my state!"?

Just to recap: executive experience as governor of a state (Alaska) bordering another country (Russia, Canada) is laughable, but executive experience as governor of a state (New Mexico) bordering another country (Mexico) is true "diplomatic" street cred.

I just want to know how Richardson ever got another job after his stint as the bumbling night watchman of the Dept. of Energy resulted in nuclear secrets getting stolen from Los Alamos.

On anohter note I was wondering what Hillary would do if she was fired from her position of Secretary of State in a couple of years. She would have lost that position and the senate seat as well,I was wondering if she thought of that situation?

Well Traveler49 think of it this way. We could model the Mexican government and its cabinent and see how diversified it is. How many gringos, asians, blacks, cubans, canadians are represented in there. Why is the US gov't the only one to diversify in color and sex but not in opinion? Obama probably saw the black Goler and figured he was a safe bed to ask a question there. Its all calculated.

The Hispanics must be feeling pretty paranoid right about now. Just think, they've got a half white and half black President. I don't see any Hispanic blood in there. Didn't anybody tell them?
