Update: Indiana Planned Parenthood suspends staffer

A local Planned Parenthood employee has been suspended after the release of a video surreptitiously shot at a clinic which shows a woman who identifies herself as a 13-year-old being given advice that is a violation of the organization’s policies.
A statement was released today by Kate Shepherd, director of communications and marketing for Planned Parenthood of Indiana, in response to the video shot by a UCLA student who said she visited the Bloomington Planned Parenthood office and spoke to a nurse there.
“We are deeply concerned about the content of the video,” Shepherd’s prepared statement said. “While we cannot be certain whether this video has been altered, the apparent actions of the employee would be in violation of our strict policies and procedures. Therefore, a thorough internal investigation of this matter has begun, and the employee has been put on an immediate, unpaid suspension. Further disciplinary action will be taken if warranted by the investigation.” Shepherd is director of communications and marketing for Planned Parenthood of Indiana in Indianapolis.
Yes, they are the same ones hawking Planned Parenthood Christmas gift certificates.

Everyone else except those who can not vote or speak for themselves. Great just great.
As for the suspension - good. But it’s a drop in a bucket in my opinion.

One other point - this employee’s actions were more than a violation of internal procedures… she was advocating breaking the law.

They suspended the employee for the only crime that counts to a liberal - she got caught.

Glad to see this. These are despicable tactics, but I wouldn’t be surprised to see that it’s more widepsread than this.

Yeah, the video was altered. They hid the criminal’s identity.
Can you be disciplined for the murder of millions of innocent lives.
It all just seems like the initial stage of the “It’s an isolated incident” defense. They’ll scapegoat the nurse (she should be terminated, not suspended) and give us the ol’ “nothing to see here, folks” follow-up.
They have the ACORN playbook to follow, after all.

Were those the Blue Book policies (the ones for public consumption) or the Red Book policies (the private, internal policies that actually controls their practices) that she was suspended for? Red Book policy number 1: Don’t get caught.

Nothing suprises me about this. I grew up in the shadows of Bloomington and the liberal establishment which is entrenched there. This mindset is mostly propogated by the ‘enlightened’ professionals employed at Indiana University.

Listen to this, my Ex Girlfriend’s younger sister accompanied her friend to a Planned Parenthood in Northwest Indiana. Her friend wanted to talk to a Doctor there so she waited for her friend in the waiting room and one of the employees noticed that she didn’t look well and asked her what’s wrong. She said that she had a terrible migraine so the employee went through her desk and gave her a birth control patch to put on her leg. She put the patch on and her friend came out of the Doctor’s office and they both went home.
The next day she noticed a nasty rash on her leg from the birth control patch. She went to work at “NORTHWESTERN MEMORIAL HOSPITAL” in Chicago and showed to her Boss (Doctor) the nasty rash, the Doctor went ballistic and asked where did you get the birth control patch at. She told her boss at the Planned Parenthood in Northwest Indiana. The Doctor called Planned Parenthood and had the employee and the Doctor working there fired!
Christmas Gift Certificates from an Abortion Clinic to celebrate Christ birth? That doesn’t seem wrong to anyone? God gives Life and Abortion Clinics kill it. How warped and twisted would someone have to be to “Hawk” Planned Parenthood Gift Certificates, the selling point being it’s Christmas. This can’t get any more out of touch with reality. How many clinics does PP operate? How many people does each clinic employ? Now what are the odds that in that entire bunch this woman just happened to come across the one bad apple in the bunch?
No, for someone to so casually discuss breaking the law they have to be secure in the knowledge that their employer doesn’t care. This kind of behavior comes from the operational culture of the place. There’s no other plausable explanation.
I disagree.
Herod ordered the death of other people’s children. He did so in the pursuit of a tangible goal (continuation of his rule). This is contemptable and evil but ultimately understandable… humans have always killed for power.
If you believe the fetus to be a human being then abortion is people killing their own children, an inversion of natural law. I’d argue that makes them worse than Herod.

I was referencing the PP clinics themselves, and of course the timing and bloodthirstiness of Herod’s act, but it may be moot. Evil is evil.

As unsavory as I am sure many of you find this, if you wan to get to the bottom of this, give her immunity until she spills the beans on her boss as to what the real policy was, go after her boss and offer the same deal and up the chain. Just like RICO investigations.
What if she accepts the offer of immunity and then takes full responsibility for implementing the unofficial policy? Then no one gets punished. Forget that.
Instead, punish her, and all those who chose to implement the “unofficial” policy. Do this consistently and as a result, frontline abortion clinic workers will be far less likely to engage in criminal behavior at the behest of a superior.
Stomp on the little guy. He’s much easier to crush, and doing so sends a powerful message to all the other little guys who might be similarly inclined to abett illegal policies in the name of “choice.”
Once the workers see that their employer will solicit criminal behavior and then expect them to pay the price when they get caught, they’ll stop implementing the policy.
I worded it poorly, but generally immunity is only given once the prosecutors KNOW what she is going to say and entirely conditional on her saying it.

Thing is, this is NOT an isolated incident. These people think it is far moe important to detroy a life than to protect one. It is the evidence that shows their complete and utter disdain for young women, not their caring.
Not only was this woman more concerned with destroying the baby than anything else, she also did not care that there was an alleged child molestor running around. She was not concerned about this alleged 13 year old’s health and welfare…only that one more life be snuffed out.
This goes on in every abortion clinic across the country in one form or another. There is no “planning” involved in their “Family Planning Clinics”. There is no one there that advocates keeping the child, marrying the father, or even maintaining a relationship with the father and child, no where do they even want to tell the father at all that there is a baby involved. The laws themselves say that the father has no rights at all as to the decision involving an abortion. In their mind, the only responsibility a father has is monetary and he is forbidden from anything else.
This goes so much farther than just abortion. It is the total and complete destruction of families from the ground up. Hell, in California, you must have the parent’s permission to be sick from school, but not to leave school and have an abortion.
