Who will make the other Prop. 8 musical?

A bunch of Hollywood libs produced “Prop. 8: The Musical,” with the obligatory ridicule of people of faith and Jack Black-as-Jesus. If the opponents of Prop. 8 stuck to cheesy dinner theater protests like this, I’d have no problem. It’s the insane mob attacks, sweeping blacklists, and church vandalism that give them a bad name.
There’s gotta be someone out there up for making the other Prop. 8 musical — the one with angry activists storming restaurants and Mormon temples, hectoring elderly people over their signs, and hounding donors large and small until they pay off their tormentors in the name of tolerance. Anyone?

I only saw them ridiculing one type of faith.
They are cowards even in a theatrical setting.
Wha?? Jack Black is Jewish, but the similarities between him & Jesus ends there.
Anyway, I stopped paying attention to ANYONE who showed up in that ‘Katrina’ begging-for-money-a-thon. That means everyone. Yes, Jennifer Aniston, I’m looking at you too.
eSodomy.com: The Musical
Wasn’t that what HBO did in series form, with the Sopranos?
Doesn’t matter, Proposition 8 passed. Absurb theater won’t change that outcome unless it’s allowed in the courtroo…oh…um…nevermind.
As long as they don’t use Enya music, it’s legit.
All speech is free in Am-er-i-ca,
If you’re a Left-y in Am-er-i-ca!
David Zucker immediately comes to mind.
can’t criticize the politically correct left of hollywood, they will make pithy plays about you being a bigot. you got a problem wi dat.
Got to love those tolerant gay nazis. No seriously, you have to or they will burn down your house.
Homosexuals – they’re doing it wrong.
WOW – just WOW!
Christians = haters
Christians “pick and choose”
Christians do not know the Savior
I am so enlightened now. (sarcus maximus)
This is an act of war.
Call it a Culture War if you want, but this is Spiritual warfare.
And that fact that it only attacks followers of the one true God (and not followers of other religions that condemn homosexuality, such as Islam) only serves to prove which God is true.

That sounds like a job for MKH and her peeps.
And so the left continues showing how mature it is.
Remember the Democrat seal with the crying baby on it? That would fit this pretty well.
Jack Black was funny in…no, that wasn’t him. He was great as…um, no.
Wait a minute, who’s Jack Black again?
Actually, he was in the worst movie I have ever seen, “Be Kind, Rewind”.
Jack black had his moments. About one in each movie.
OOooooh!
We could call it: Tolerance! The Musical
I can almost read the Playbill now:
Boy, it damn near writes itself, doesn’t it?
Oh, I totally agree with you. The more the left attacks my faith, the more unhinged and hateful their rants become, the more I’m convinced I’m 100% correct in my theology.
ANYTHING – be it religion or Sarah Palin – that makes the left go this utterly ballistic has got to be hitting the bullseye.
I seem to recall we have some gay people who post here and agree marriage is between one man and one woman.
Homosexuals are haters.
What’s good for the goose…
(shhhhhh don’t tell anybody but I don’t hate gay people. They may kick me out of the club)
Jack Black – My wife coerced me into watching “The Holiday”. I will never forgive her.
Maybe homosexuality is a mental disorder that requires treatment; the proof is right in front of us.
Why make the musical when the movies of their protests are on YouTube (probably – I don’t bother to look for them or watch because I know what a bunch of militant crybabies they are)? Obviously, homosexuals haven’t heard that the more shrill you become the more you’re ignored. It’s basic human nature.
That’s the problem with *progressivism*: it’s not progressive. Throughout the years, homosexuals have asked to be accepted as normal, but the attitude still seems to be “not this argument again — it’s been going on for years, and still, no sale.”
*out*
ROFL You have a wife (god forbid) and you will not forgive her. Does that make you a Tater-hater? HMMMMM?
Who will produce the other? Do you mean us regular folks who are working, paying our mortgages and taxes, teaching our children right from wrong and going to church each week? Who has the time?
It’s already been done.
Let these fools mock-eternity awaits and they will not enjoy it. These fools are little different that the crowd at Lot’s house, the serpent in the garden and a bunch of others. They will always be with us, and then they will not. If they get too powerful in the meantime other means may be necessary.
These fanatic homosexual groups are completely out of control and if the threats continue somebody will get killed.
I’m in favor of starting a blacklist of those gay right activists that assaulted and threatened others.
Hairless?
Hey Folks,
Be reasonable. This wasn’t hateful. It wasn’t unhinged.
It was clever… and funny. These folks simply did what folks on their side of this issue do. They caricatured their opponents and their opponents’ views. They equated a levitical dietary law with with a pre-fall institution upheld as strongly by New Testament writers as Old. They call marriage a right that should be afforded to any two individuals without regard for gender.
These views as they were expressed in this piece of theater were not hateful, they were just disrespectful and wrong. Are you all surprised that we would be disrespected by this group?
There is plenty of hate from the homosexual left to go around. Physically abusing christian workers in San Francisco, publishing personal information of donors on the internet… these are hate and recognizable as such by any any candid observer. This was clever engagement in the culture war. If we respond by calling it hate, we waste the term.
I don’t hate the people who made the video. I disagree. I evangelistically and emphatically disagree.
But remember that so also does the strong majority of the people of smurfishly blue California. If we find a way to engage them in this battle, it is won.
I e mailed Michelle this story…..
you have to be joking.
Odopey day
And in other Culture War / Spiritual Warfare news…
While there is a plethora of references to God, Moses, Crosses and the Bible in Our Capitol Building,
the new Capitol Visitor Center Omits History of Faith
No they aren’t. And the guy has done nothing but ride a wave of hype to the white house.
Sounds like a new musical:
Oh, Dopy day.
Oh, Dopy day (Oh, Dopy day)
Oh, Dopy day (Oh, Dopy day)
When Jesus was (When Jesus was)
When Jesus was (When Jesus was)
Washed away
Soap – I don’t hate her, I just won’t forgive her for making me watch that movie for 90 minutes of my life that I’ll never get back. Besides, she’s only a Tater by marriage.
I suppose there must be a reason for Jack Black’s popularity, but I just don’t see it.
Wow, all that singing about love and tolerance kind of makes you wonder where the love and tolerance is for the people who voted for Prop 8.
Maybe the “film producer” who’s creating the “Gay Bible” might be up for doing it. Err…probably not.

But, Snodfy, what about the violent response of us intolerant Christians when an “artist” submerged a cross in his own urine . . . or when another one covered a statue of the Virgin in elephant s*&t and pornographic pictures . . . oh, right. No violent responses there.
Who are the “tolerant” ones, again?

Excellent idea. I’ll bet he would, too; he made “American Carol”.

Only problem: that would reflect the reality of what’s happened wince Prop 8 was voted in. Don’t bother gay rights supporters – or supporters of any other far-left agenda – with the facts.
Just add some lyrics over the end of “Conquest of the Planet of the Apes”.
So was Marx, Trotsky, and Stalin…
It’s too bad I’ll have to boycott another Hollyweirdo…

Not much of a fan of his to begin with, but I know what you mean; I’ve had to cross some people I used to like watching/listening to. It taints the entertainment experience.
Err, I meant “cross off my list” . . .
More coffee, please.
Better yet, dinner, please.
Reminds me of Matthew 12:9-14. Jesus was healing on the Sabbath. As you know, healing was not allowed on the Sabbath except when there was danger to life. Even then, measures could be taken only to prevent the condition from getting worse; nothing could be done to improve it. Jesus countered this obvious fallacy, saying it is indeed lawful to do good on the Sabbath. Ironically, those who were outraged by a supposed violation of the Sabbath had no qualms about plotting how they might destroy Him.
Same difference here. Serious case of remove the log from your own eye before removing the speck from your brother’s eye.
Let me get this strait. The left is afraid of religion because of moral absolutes. We all know that. But why are they afraid of non-religious people like me who only believe in the our constitution. Oh ya! Our constitution also has absolutes.
Our common bond is the need for freedom to be and not have the government tell us to be.
That little musical is a joke, show clips of all the crappy street fairs these idiots “pride” themselves in.
Making it sound like its all just sweet peachy keen is dishonest. Leave traditional marriage alone have your civil unions and stfu.
O I C
The unhinged gays are the true followers of Jesus and want to know what else He said…
How about, “Go, and sin no more.”
Has anyone heard about the conviction of a homosexual who murdered a straight man after lacing his drink with GHB?
I don’t think so, and here is the link regarding the murder of Jason Shephard.
GSP
“This is Sparta!”
So that would be a group of talented musical theater writers and producers and actors, who are not gay and who oppose Prop 8? Yeah, good luck with that search.
We can boycott them a lot more effectively than they can boycott us, because we outnumber them. If 20 or 30% of the conservatives and religious people in this country cancel their CATV, stop attending movies, buying Apple, Disney and other industries or companies that promote the homosexual and gay marriage agenda Hollywood would feel it. I haven’t bought Levi’s products for years, because they snubbed the Boy Scouts for not allowing gay men to be leaders in the Cub & Boy Scouts.
In all seriousness, I think this is the way they should have reacted from the start.
This is funny and could convince some people to re-evalute thier own beleifs.
Quite the opposite of stomping on an old ladys cross.
thefoundingfathers – One problem with that. Almost every major corporation and many mid-sized have given to gay-activist groups and planned un-parenthood. I challenge you to find a major computer maker, auto maker or telecom company that hasn’t or doesn’t have to use the lines of one who does.
Al $harpton, Je$$e Jack$on and La Raza have all been very busy shaking down corporations for donations. I was trying to live a boycott life several years ago and realized the futility of it when I saw the donations list of the companies I wanted to do business with. One by one they all got crossed off my list.
I’d have to live the Dreadlocked-American dream of cave dwelling to avoid those who give to gay activist and planned un-parenthood.
It was a seriously depressing but eye-opening experience for me.
Winners rock, losers sing.
My collie says:
Set a fire, collie? That’s so easy a caveman could do it — which tells you something about Jack Black, doesn’t it?
LDS is opposed to civil unions for homosexual couples.
And your point is?
Mocking Mormons and Catholics in Hollywood is the equivalent of sniffing one own’s flatulence and about as “brave.” What’s the point of this, besides employing a lot of C and D-listers for a day?
Yes it is. The rape of young boys is by definition homosexual but the media types will never say it. They seldom even use the word rape.
They did used the murder of Matthew Shepherd as a civil rights statement, ignoring the fact that his murderers hemselves were homosexual.
We call it lying. That lying just may be the reason almost all big media is in trouble with declining audience. “Hate crimes laws”, you would think murder would be enough.Milwaukee serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer was homosexual, but very few stories mentioned it.That lying again.
Let me suggest to Michelle and all the conservative pundits that they should somehow come up with a new musical that pokes fun at Pelosi, Reid, Rahm, Clinton, Hollywood liberals, etc, etc,….with the new O Administration and Congress.
Call it…
“O!”
Or maybe in this case call it “Oy!”
Can’t these lefites and gays get it right when it comes to the bible????. Talking about picking and choosing. Jesus told Peter in the new testament that the past foods that were considered unclean could be eaten. The shrimp and any other food that was once considered unclean. Obviously these folks don’t understand the New Covenant of the New Testament. Jesus overcame the law but we still have to choose not to sin when it presents itself in front of us.
I live in southern California and what gets me is that most of the straight people that I know who voted against Prop 8 are white. The Latinos and Blacks I know pretty much voted for prop 8. In California, the combined total of Latinos, Blacks and Asians outnumber the Whites. So, unless Prop 8 the Musical is played in Compton and Oakland, it is not doing much good. I won’t hold my breath that these cities will be selling tickets.
Well, there is a lot of video material to draw from. I’m sure there are clips of the Folsom Street Festival all over the Web somewhere.
How do they do this garbage with a straight face? It’s beyond lame.
So yet again, the liberals and the Gays come out into the public spotlight with a hatefilled, bigotted piece of tripe that works to snuff out the will of the people and overthrow a legal election.
See, you cannot say anything against gays, that would be hate. However, you CAN go ahead and bash the hell out of Christians and others who supported this LEGALLY VOTED ON Ammendment and that is just fine.
The pure ignorance of this is mindboggling. Seriously. It demonstrates the typical Liberal non-knowledge and understanding of The Bible, and even goes so far as to claim that Homosexual Marriage…arguably a minute section of such an incredibly small amount of people in this country, is going to SAVE THE ECONOMY! If that isn’t the biggest hunk of fecal matter to grace the web in decades, I just don’t know what is.
You know, if these thugs, liars, bigots and hate-mongers had spent this much time, effort and money BEFORE the election, they actually might have won.
But what they are doing now is wrong, and I hate to break it to them, but I seriously doubt Thomas Jefferson had gays in mind when he talked about “Equal Protection”. I might just remind those that would argue otherwise just exactly what it was that people did to homosexuals back then before they start spouting off their usual BS.
Lets not forget about California’s own pride and joy homosexual, Randy Kraft.
Just so everyone knows, Sodomy…what Homosexuality was referred to back in the 18th Century COlonies and elsewhere, was considered a FELONY and in several states, including New York, it was seen as a Capital Offense.
What did Thomas Jefferson think the punishment should be for someone who engaged in such an act? Why, nothing short of DISMEMBERMENT.
How about The Father Of Our Country, George Washington? Well, he issued “General Orders” from Army Headquarters at Valley Forge on Saturday, March 14, 1778:
That’s right, the Father of Our Country viewed Sodomy with “ABHORRENCE and DETESTATION”
So you can just drop all the self-righteous junk about what the “Founders” thought or intended when it came to Homosexuals and Homosexuality. The laws as well as their words and records speak for themselves.
I wonder if Lt. Enslin left any progeny for his posterity?
I know…just askin’!
During the Revolutionary war, Congress commissioned Cpt. Von Steuben as a general officer in the continental army. Von Steuben wrote the drill and ceremony regulations for the army. When Lt. Enslin was caught in his act with private Monhort of trying to commit sodomy, the matter was first presented to Von Steuben, who stated it was not a big deal and to let it go. Washington was the one who decided it to be a morale killer and had the two soldiers discharged.
After the war, it was found out that Von Steuben was on the run from the Prussian Court for raping little boys back home. Just an addition to the story of the first discharged gay soldier.
I understand entirely why you continue to misrepresent the Prop 8 protesters – it’s because you’re a cowardly homophobe who enjoys spreading the message of hate as long as it ensures Christianity keeps it’s last archaic limit on society. But, honestly, it’s starting to grate. Not only are you lying through your teeth, Ms. Malkin, (I’m sure you’re not an idiot, and I’m sure you understand the concept of a blacklist and I’m sure you know that the public records Prop 8 protesters are using are not “blacklists!”), but are pretending that the protests have been characterised by violence, when this is patently untrue. The overwhelming majority of protests across the country have been entirely peaceful.
WOW!
Omu’s so deep in denial he’s digging up mummies.
I love this part from the link about the new Obama holiday:
Yeah, like getting service at the DMV to get one’s driver’s license renewed — oh, wait. Never mind.
A LIITLE HISTORY FOR OMU
1972 vote by the APA to change homosexuality from a disordered.
Only slightly less than one-third of the APA’s membership approved the change. It should be further noted that the “National Gay Task Force” was able to obtain APA members addresses. Dishonesty and intimidation had won the day for the same-gender sex movement, and when activists publicly claim that this vote was a scientific decision; they hide three years of deceit and intimidation.
“It was never a medical decision—and that’s why I think the action came so fast…It was a political move.”
“That’s how far we’ve come in ten years. Now we even have the American Psychiatric Association running scared.”
-Barbara Gittings, Same-gender sex activist
They are still using the same tactics.
Bingo! You got that right. Learn it, live it, love it…tatoo it somewhere so you don’t forget it.
While we educating the lad here, it should also be noted the psychiatrist who led the drive to have homosexuality removed as a mental disorder (Dr. Robert Spitzer) has since discovered – contrary to his earlier belief – that homosexuality is a reversible condition.
You should have included how the text on the image is attributed to Jefferson, Fireman. Here’s that context, at Google Books:
The Essential Jefferson
Do you have a link for that statement? I can’t find one.
I can imagine OMU accusing Jesus Himself of being a homophobe because OMU doesn’t agree with Christianity’s view on sin. I don’t think OMU would have the courage and would just slither away.
Me thinks that is a slight exaggeration. Something the left does on a routine basis to lend credence to their argument.
Good!!
OMU: That post was a flat out lie. Who do you think you are telling us what we should believe and think? What gives you the right to decide what traditions and moral values are okay for others? What makes you think YOUR view is even moraly correct? HOW DARE YOU lecture anyone on this issue you arrogant punk.
pot meet kettle.
sonofdy – remember why satan was thrown out of heaven. Because he wanted to be just like God. I see a resemblence in the lefties. They don’t believe in God or religion, they are god and religion, thereby becoming increasingly arrogant although, not quite “God-like.” They are legends in their own minds.
Sure, Fireman, here’s a few references for you -

Hope that’s of assistance!
If one reads ‘The Acts of the Apostles’, the best selling sequel to ‘The Gospel of Luke’, one sees a vigorous debate ensued over whether Greek and other Gentile converts to Christianity had to be circumcised, and follow Jewish dietary regulations. They eventually prayed to the Holy Spirit for guidance, and decided only the Jewish converts to Christianity had to keep the Jewish customs and rules. The only dietary requirements were that the Gentile converts could not drink blood, eat the meat of an animal that had been strangled (low cruelty eating, as it were), eat food that had been offered as a sacrifice to a pagan god (which someone once pointed out may mean halal meat, slaughtered in a low cruelty manner but by a man uttering “Bismillah” (In the Name of Allah), is acceptable eating for Christians). Oh, and sexual morality was also stressed.
This was again mentioned, with a more clear prohibition against homosexual behavior, in Paul’s letter to the Church at Rome.
Now, I understand that homosexual tendencies probably have both genetic and environmental components, and it isn’t, for most, a free choice. But a person with these tendencies doesn’t have to act on them. And the Episcopal Church and others don’t have to celebrate what is clearly prohibited in both Jewish and Christian scriptures.
From a strictly civil rights perspective, people should expect a certain amount of privacy in their homes, and homosexual conduct in the homes should not be a criminal matter if it involves consenting adults.
But society has an interest in promoting stable families (the late Italian Marxist intellectual Antonio Gramsci knew this, and believed that traditional families, morality and religious institutions needed to be attacked or people would never choose Communism), and promoting gay “marriage” as the equivalent of traditional marriage isn’t advantageous for society.
Gay and lesbian partners can obtain legal protection through power of attorney, and many states have civil unions.
They aren’t being denied any rights. Using courts to force ‘gay marriage’ onto an unwilling public isn’t going to do anything to advance the average person’s acceptance of homosexuality. Nor does vandalism, the mocking of religious faith and other forms of rude behavior.
That should be “here are”. What be happenin’ to my grammar??
Ah well, it’s just too early in the morn.
Thank you purple. I’m from the old world of library research.
I agree, but I’ll go further: when omu is kneeling in front of Jesus, he won’t be able to ’slink’ away. No one will. Every knee will bow.
Yup, me too. Still love rummaging through the ol’ card catalogue and looking over rows of books. Put me in a library and I’m there for hours at least.
Of course, Dr.Spitzer’s study and his writings can also be found in the professional journals section/archives of any good-sized library (as well as online).
Actually, those who don’t believe will cry for the mountains and hills cover them.
misscheryl–right. It matters not whether a person is an atheist or agnostic. Their disbelief cannot change His coming.
To all you people who think that homosexuality is a choice, don’t you wonder why no homosexuals think that way (besides the Lindsay Lohan’s who just want the attention). Why is it that almost all of the people who think it is a choice are in fact heterosexual and have never had to make the “choice”, as it were.
I think of myself as a typical all American guy, two loving parents, great happy childhood, catholic high school, catholic college, good job and a great group of friends. I am also gay and spent years trying to hide that and live the straight life. When I was going through stages of depression, alcoholism and thoughts of suicide I would have given anything for the “choice” to be heterosexual, but it’s not that easy.
The level of hate on these boards is startling from people who claim to be Christian.
DCDan, I saw no one on this thread exhibited hatred whatsoever. You are typical in that if someone disagrees with you, automatically presume they must be hating.
