Who will make the other Prop. 8 musical?

By Michelle Malkin  •  December 3, 2008 02:50 PM

A bunch of Hollywood libs produced “Prop. 8: The Musical,” with the obligatory ridicule of people of faith and Jack Black-as-Jesus. If the opponents of Prop. 8 stuck to cheesy dinner theater protests like this, I’d have no problem. It’s the insane mob attacks, sweeping blacklists, and church vandalism that give them a bad name.

There’s gotta be someone out there up for making the other Prop. 8 musical — the one with angry activists storming restaurants and Mormon temples, hectoring elderly people over their signs, and hounding donors large and small until they pay off their tormentors in the name of tolerance. Anyone?

That’s the problem with *progressivism*: it’s not progressive. Throughout the years, homosexuals have asked to be accepted as normal, but the attitude still seems to be “not this argument again — it’s been going on for years, and still, no sale.”

    Hey Folks,

Be reasonable. This wasn’t hateful. It wasn’t unhinged.

It was clever… and funny. These folks simply did what folks on their side of this issue do. They caricatured their opponents and their opponents’ views. They equated a levitical dietary law with with a pre-fall institution upheld as strongly by New Testament writers as Old. They call marriage a right that should be afforded to any two individuals without regard for gender.

These views as they were expressed in this piece of theater were not hateful, they were just disrespectful and wrong. Are you all surprised that we would be disrespected by this group?

There is plenty of hate from the homosexual left to go around. Physically abusing christian workers in San Francisco, publishing personal information of donors on the internet… these are hate and recognizable as such by any any candid observer. This was clever engagement in the culture war. If we respond by calling it hate, we waste the term.

I don’t hate the people who made the video. I disagree. I evangelistically and emphatically disagree.

But remember that so also does the strong majority of the people of smurfishly blue California. If we find a way to engage them in this battle, it is won.

Reminds me of Matthew 12:9-14. Jesus was healing on the Sabbath. As you know, healing was not allowed on the Sabbath except when there was danger to life. Even then, measures could be taken only to prevent the condition from getting worse; nothing could be done to improve it. Jesus countered this obvious fallacy, saying it is indeed lawful to do good on the Sabbath. Ironically, those who were outraged by a supposed violation of the Sabbath had no qualms about plotting how they might destroy Him.

Same difference here. Serious case of remove the log from your own eye before removing the speck from your brother’s eye.

Yes it is. The rape of young boys is by definition homosexual but the media types will never say it. They seldom even use the word rape.
They did used the murder of Matthew Shepherd as a civil rights statement, ignoring the fact that his murderers hemselves were homosexual.

We call it lying. That lying just may be the reason almost all big media is in trouble with declining audience. “Hate crimes laws”, you would think murder would be enough.Milwaukee serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer was homosexual, but very few stories mentioned it.That lying again.

So yet again, the liberals and the Gays come out into the public spotlight with a hatefilled, bigotted piece of tripe that works to snuff out the will of the people and overthrow a legal election.

See, you cannot say anything against gays, that would be hate. However, you CAN go ahead and bash the hell out of Christians and others who supported this LEGALLY VOTED ON Ammendment and that is just fine.

The pure ignorance of this is mindboggling. Seriously. It demonstrates the typical Liberal non-knowledge and understanding of The Bible, and even goes so far as to claim that Homosexual Marriage…arguably a minute section of such an incredibly small amount of people in this country, is going to SAVE THE ECONOMY! If that isn’t the biggest hunk of fecal matter to grace the web in decades, I just don’t know what is.

You know, if these thugs, liars, bigots and hate-mongers had spent this much time, effort and money BEFORE the election, they actually might have won.

But what they are doing now is wrong, and I hate to break it to them, but I seriously doubt Thomas Jefferson had gays in mind when he talked about “Equal Protection”. I might just remind those that would argue otherwise just exactly what it was that people did to homosexuals back then before they start spouting off their usual BS.

Just so everyone knows, Sodomy…what Homosexuality was referred to back in the 18th Century COlonies and elsewhere, was considered a FELONY and in several states, including New York, it was seen as a Capital Offense.

What did Thomas Jefferson think the punishment should be for someone who engaged in such an act? Why, nothing short of DISMEMBERMENT.

How about The Father Of Our Country, George Washington? Well, he issued “General Orders” from Army Headquarters at Valley Forge on Saturday, March 14, 1778:

At a General Court Martial whereof Colo. Tupper was President (10th March 1778) Lieutt. Enslin of Colo. Malcom’s Regiment tried for attempting to commit sodomy, with John Monhort a soldier; Secondly, For Perjury in swearing to false Accounts, found guilty of the charges exhibited against him, being breaches of 5th Article 18th Section of the Articles of War and do sentence him to be dismiss’d the service with Infamy. His Excellency the Commander in Chief approves the sentence and with Abhorrence and Detestation of such Infamous Crimes orders Lieutt. Enslin to be drummed out of Camp tomorrow morning by all the Drummers and Fifers in the Army never to return; The Drummers and Fifers to attend on the Grand Parade at Guard mounting for that Purpose

That’s right, the Father of Our Country viewed Sodomy with “ABHORRENCE and DETESTATION”

So you can just drop all the self-righteous junk about what the “Founders” thought or intended when it came to Homosexuals and Homosexuality. The laws as well as their words and records speak for themselves.

Washington was the one who decided it to be a morale killer and had the two soldiers discharged.

After the war, it was found out that Von Steuben was on the run from the Prussian Court for raping little boys back home. Just an addition to the story of the first discharged gay soldier.

Not only are you lying through your teeth, Ms. Malkin, (I’m sure you’re not an idiot, and I’m sure you understand the concept of a blacklist and I’m sure you know that the public records Prop 8 protesters are using are not “blacklists!”), but are pretending that the protests have been characterised by violence, when this is patently untrue. Only slightly less than one-third of the APA’s membership approved the change. It should be further noted that the “National Gay Task Force” was able to obtain APA members addresses. Dishonesty and intimidation had won the day for the same-gender sex movement, and when activists publicly claim that this vote was a scientific decision; they hide three years of deceit and intimidation.

“It was never a medical decision—and that’s why I think the action came so fast…It was a political move.”
“That’s how far we’ve come in ten years. Now we even have the American Psychiatric Association running scared.”

They are still using the same tactics.

If one reads ‘The Acts of the Apostles’, the best selling sequel to ‘The Gospel of Luke’, one sees a vigorous debate ensued over whether Greek and other Gentile converts to Christianity had to be circumcised, and follow Jewish dietary regulations. They eventually prayed to the Holy Spirit for guidance, and decided only the Jewish converts to Christianity had to keep the Jewish customs and rules. The only dietary requirements were that the Gentile converts could not drink blood, eat the meat of an animal that had been strangled (low cruelty eating, as it were), eat food that had been offered as a sacrifice to a pagan god (which someone once pointed out may mean halal meat, slaughtered in a low cruelty manner but by a man uttering “Bismillah” (In the Name of Allah), is acceptable eating for Christians). Oh, and sexual morality was also stressed.

This was again mentioned, with a more clear prohibition against homosexual behavior, in Paul’s letter to the Church at Rome.

Now, I understand that homosexual tendencies probably have both genetic and environmental components, and it isn’t, for most, a free choice. But a person with these tendencies doesn’t have to act on them. And the Episcopal Church and others don’t have to celebrate what is clearly prohibited in both Jewish and Christian scriptures.

From a strictly civil rights perspective, people should expect a certain amount of privacy in their homes, and homosexual conduct in the homes should not be a criminal matter if it involves consenting adults.

But society has an interest in promoting stable families (the late Italian Marxist intellectual Antonio Gramsci knew this, and believed that traditional families, morality and religious institutions needed to be attacked or people would never choose Communism), and promoting gay “marriage” as the equivalent of traditional marriage isn’t advantageous for society.

Gay and lesbian partners can obtain legal protection through power of attorney, and many states have civil unions.

They aren’t being denied any rights. Using courts to force ‘gay marriage’ onto an unwilling public isn’t going to do anything to advance the average person’s acceptance of homosexuality. Nor does vandalism, the mocking of religious faith and other forms of rude behavior.

To all you people who think that homosexuality is a choice, don’t you wonder why no homosexuals think that way (besides the Lindsay Lohan’s who just want the attention). Why is it that almost all of the people who think it is a choice are in fact heterosexual and have never had to make the “choice”, as it were.

I think of myself as a typical all American guy, two loving parents, great happy childhood, catholic high school, catholic college, good job and a great group of friends. I am also gay and spent years trying to hide that and live the straight life. When I was going through stages of depression, alcoholism and thoughts of suicide I would have given anything for the “choice” to be heterosexual, but it’s not that easy.
