Latinos to Obama: You still owe us more
A few weeks ago, I noted that Hispanic lawyers had served notice to Barack Obama that they expected him to pay them back in return for delivering ethnic votes. They were demanding more appointments to the federal bench.
Yesterday, Obama named Hispanic Bill Richardson his Commerce Secretary nominee. He has also placed La Raza biggie Cecilia Munoz in a key White House office.
But it’s not enough.
For racial/ethnic grievance-mongers, it’s never enough:
The Congressional Hispanic Caucus delivered a letter Tuesday to Obama’s transition office recommending a slate of 14 Hispanics for the remaining eight Cabinet slots. “We understand that the incoming administration will have a vast pool of talent from which to choose,” the letter said. “The individuals we have endorsed constitute the best talent while reflecting the diversity that is so valued by President-elect Obama.”
The group’s chairman, Representative Joe Baca of California, warned that Obama’s agenda could be jeopardized if he doesn’t nominate more Latinos. “If it’s just one, he’s going to have to answer to a lot of the issues that come before us,” Baca told Bloomberg.

I listened to a reporter ask him about this yesterday. Gimme gimme gimme….”where are other Latino faces in your cabinet?”
He stumbled in his response and then blew smoke up the reporter’s bu** for a minute with a bunch of rhetoric. Say….that sounds awfully familiar to me…sort of like his campaign stump speeches!

Any group whose chairman is Joe Baca is one any reasoned, rational individual should run away from post-haste.

Seems to me there’s only one group that doesn’t engage in identity politics. Oh, that’s right, they’re the racists.
How can this group ever be taken seriously when they hurl “racist” at anyone/everyone? This demand that their ethnicity be considered for postitions above others solely due to their ethnicity proves who the real racists are. And it aint the white guys. I sit in amazement how hispanics/blacks/etc can make every decision (neigh, demand) based on the impact to their own race/ethinitcity without regard to the impact to society at large, but if a white guy makes a harmless, unintentional, off color joke he/she is crucified and stripped of thier livlihood. I am about out of patience with these groups. Either do what is best for all Americans or STFU.
It is still a concern that “The One” has made SO many campaign promises to SO many people that, like a previous poster said “the chickens are coming home to roost…”
He seems to owe something to everybody and they damn well are gonna try and guilt him into compliance.

Could it be, that if, as a nation, we consume ourselves with “celebrating diversity”, “honoring our differences”, etc. that, one day, we’ll wake up and realize we have nothing left in common?
Should that happen, can our country survive? I honestly do not believe that is not possible.

I’ve never been real fond of Richardson. Since his days as a foreign Ambassador I’ve always gotten the distinct vibe that not only is he a world-class suck ass, but he’s a tool and a hump to boot.
He’s just too glib and that little fu-manchu beard episode just made him look (IMO) like a Bozo (with apologies to clowns everywhere).
His priorities are 1) Bill Richardson; 2) immigrants; 3) illegal immigrants and 4) Bill Richardson.
When will he have the time for the American (legal) citizens?
If the La Raza crowd spent as much time whining and telling the politicians in Mexico how to run things (as they feel to be their duty in OUR country) they might not have to border-jump and come here to escape their homeland.
On the basis of people here legally there are almost twice as many German Americans as there are Hispanic Americans. German Americans are most probably the biggest ethnic group in the US, or very close to being. Why doesn’t Rep. Baca regret the fact that more Germans aren’t part of the incoming Obama administration and all we seem to concentrate on is how we please one ethnic group, Hispanics?
These so-called Hispanic leaders are really pushing the envelope and need to be called on this! This socio ethno-centric demographic hegemony is going to kill our country. It needs to stop!

My daughter has decided that living with her manipulative mother that soaks the government with a fake 100% VA disability is a better life choice than having the world and endless life/education options handed to her on a plate. Happy holidays to me.
The bad thing is that my company recently took two other peoples jobs in order to create my new one so that I could focus solely on her. The next two years of sitting here at home are going to be miserable.
I dont even feel like going back to school for a finanace degree in January anymore…

Over the past few months she told me stories of not caring about her old school last year and of her older ex-”boyfriend” (of a certain descent related to this thread) who kept coke,meth and weed in his bedroom. Its just a matter of time… and from what I understand her mom “needs” her to come home and care for her siblings. (this from the disabled woman who goes out every night and can dance on top of the bar.)
I received a call from her principal a while ago…seems she is randomly walking the halls of her school this morning and has been skipping classes the past couple of days… Thank goodness she is my youngest one, and here I thought she would be the least trouble.
